Well, Russel and Ron were so cool, they didn't need that wanker of a guitar player pretending anyone cared about him! Still, spanking tune! Love Sparks!
I'm a 39 year old music fan and only knew these guys as the artists who sang Cool Places. Six weeks ago I bought Kimono My House and it's been off to the races. I now own all their albums and am eagerly waiting for Exotic Creatures From The Deep--their new disc--in the mail.
man ron is all over the place on the keyboard here...people don't realize how much is playing and live performance style influenced so many keyboardists..even today! Roddy Bottom from faith no more had a similar live playing style, so does the touring keyboardist from NIN when I saw them..plus basically all the new wave and emo keyboardists out there
It looks painful, what Ron's doing in 1:57.. What a great song! And Russell's so cute in this video.. I'm just overwhelmed right now with the amazingness of this song. And yes, amazingness is a word, if not, I just invented it. It describes Sparks.
These are my favorite Sparks songs from my favorite era. Great lyrics but never taking themselves too serious. Now if they ever made a video for Sherlock Holmes I would be ectastic!
I'm surprised some Sparks fans don't like this period. I picked up "Whomp That Sucker" and "Angst In My Pants" on vinyl years ago and they're brilliant albums.
This isn't my favourite song of theirs but the lyrics are great. "Always wear a D-cup" :D

It was paul Mccartney doing a bad impression of Ron Mael, Sparks' keyboaard player and genius songwriter.

Guess every long term fan has his own favorite Sparks 'era' of their music; this one absolutely rates in my TOP 3 of 'em (eras).

...and best of all they haven't lost an ounce of talent.

"Soon you will lose ALL YOUR ZITS, tight sweatERS NO LONGER FIT!"
Fucking ace. When i'm alone in the house, I like to dance like Russell Mael to this song.

ron is unbeatable here.

Has Mika completely ripped off Russell Mael or what? "Live Today" is a real rip off of this track. Had forgotten about that!
Brilliant band - totally underrated and very ahead of their time.
