@SocialClimax Go read the bookss, they are incredible. Absolutely brutal affairs in which main characters die on a random whim and the villains are victorious more often than the heroes. Justice rarely prevails, and the best you can hope for is your favorite character to live for 10 chapters.

There's a couple different covers, the versions I have show paintings of the characters on front, and those are the style I prefer, but you can find different published versions. I would almost guarantee Barnes and Noble has all four. If not, you can DEFINITELY order them from B&N's website, or Amazon!!! If you do, let me know if you enjoy them!

Apparently he has chosen someone to finish the books if he dies. What pisses me off is that he had had 7 releases since the last book to make money on instead of finishing Dances...I agree depressing and just plain nasty...he has been making apperances all over the world for months at a time promoting other projects and not sitting down to finish. Some people say he has just lost inerest...who knows. But I will only buy fantasy Trilogies that are finished now lol

He hasn't made ASOIAF his top priority because most of the books he's released since Feast was released were for fans of the series that he'd had out before ASOIAF. If he focused on his big series and abandoned the others, he'd be casting his most loyal fans aside. The majority of people that are pissed about Dance not being released yet aren't fans of his other work. He's just trying to be loyal to

@carmy60 His older books are pretty amazing. I'm plowing through Dreamsongs at the moment, which is a 2 volume anthology of his short stories. They're phenomenal. For what it's worth, I highly recommend The Dying of the Light, and Fevre Dream. They're pretty amazing books. But, the series that he's been working on, Wild Cards, I'm not very familiar with, but they've been out since the mid eighties. I've heard that they're pretty good though. They're probably worth the effort I'd have to put into

@SuperSigil 100% there's gonna be some changes but not major detour i suspect 'cause i red somewhere that GRRM is working with the scriptwriters. May be that's why he can't publish next book yet :) I'm sure both will be epic!

@Brendifuk GRRM has been working closely with the scriptwriters and has contributed one of the episode scripts himself for the first season and will do 1 for each of the seasons to follow (should we be so lucky that it lasts). He's also a producer on the series, but the day-to-day production decisions are being handled by David Benioff and Dan Weiss.

@SuperSigil GRRM has seen all the plans for the first season and even wrote one of the episode scripts, himself. The plan for season 1 is to hew pretty close to the first book. He expects that so will the later seasons - there will be changes, some lesser plotlines and characters will be dropped, probably, but overwhelmingly it's going to keep to the novels is the intent.
