  • In a movie this theme is played on a saxophone it is not a piano theme check the

background excerpt in a post entitled:

    The Music of Gabriel Yared

How could this be Le petit Nicolas when that is a completely different theme??????

Check it out on YouTube better /unfortunately I can not post links here/

  • Comment removed

  • Hello, just for some clarity, this is the Betty Blue theme, just played on "piano" and not "sax", it can still be called the Theme even if it is not necessarily played on the same instrument that you hear it on in the film.

Also if you obtain the score for this piece, it is arranged for piano.

Le petit nicolas is an entirely different piece, heard in the movie, in the piano shop scene with the young boy playing. I am yet to do a piano version of this piece, it is very tricky to play.

  • My favorite also.... I only miss the title...

  • its called "petit Nicolas" i think... its from gabriel yard

  • I was so excited about the title, but it is not the correct one... I am so saaad.... :((((

    nice try though...

  • oh i'm sorry... but i guess you can look it up somewhere, there must be a cd and in the internet u must be able to listen to a couple seconds of the song. good luck ;)

  • Good point! although I was hoping to find it (on YT) in original & in original length and hear it... :(

  • Well it is a musical theme featured in a movie but the title is not the theme...

Thank you for the additional clarification.

Also, thank you for recognizing the beauty in this song and uploading this video!

  • You are wonderfoul!!! I love "Betty Blue" and music from this movie...

  • Thank you, maybe would like to hear some of my other recordings on you tube sometime!

  • The playing goes well with the reverb in the chapel.

  • surely you need to wake up?Where on earth have i stated that this is an AMAZING song?

And i know plenty about Gabriel Yared, i studied him during my thesis at university, i think you will find my words were "this is the most beautiful theme ever heard in a movie" that's not to say it is an AMAZING song?Or to discredit his over works. Mind your own business!

  • This moves me because for almost 20 years Ive been a fan of this melody and then I listen to your beautiful playing...This is totally inspiring. Greetings from Mexico :-)

  • Oh great! Your going to practice "le petit Nicolas'! Can't wait!

  • I like your version. 'Le petit Nicolas', the pianosolo from the Betty Blue soundtrack, do you play it? It's not on You Tube yet and I really like it.

  • bonsoir! You are lucky i do play my own piano version of Le Petit Nicolas, but it is quite different from the original heard in the film, and very difficult to play, but you have now inspired me to record a version, it will take some time, as i need to practise, but if you subscribe to my videos, you will be notified. I might do some more betty blue versions too, jameslerouge x
