  • wow

  • رائع رائع

  • truly an inspiration

  • The model's eyes should be darker.

  • im only about 12 i try drawing this it turned out almost the same the problem is the size i cant seem to do it right plus i can only draw step by step any tips

  • good drawing funny the girl blinks alot

  • I'm sorry, but this drawing did not succeed.

He does not resemble the model altogether. :S

  • ahhh shes blinking ever 500ms its abnormal

  • it seems, my man does resemblance drawing. it doesnt look exactly like the person but has a resemblance factor to the subject. in my opinion.

  • @gaywhitekids

    lets see you do better

  • sure

  • I don't understand when I draw I "Let it Rip" and my wife throws me out of the room. How it this a good thing for drawing?................hahha

  • only 5 minutes !!

  • thank you sir for the tips.

  • wow!!!that's amazing for 7 minutes!!

  • all the faces on all the portraits look the same no uniqness, i prefer eclecticasylumart, now he does portraits to perfection.

  • but this is just 7 minute...

  • i really want to draw face's i need to know where is the best place to begin with

  • sir could u tell me what kind of a pencil is that ... thx

    best wishes

  • it's a drafting pencil

  • she look's like a doll:)

  • can he draw with a wooden pencil

  • wow that is incredible, thankyou for taking your time to offer your talent for us to understand. And those were really good tips @ the end. thx

  • What size graphite are you using, in your holder. Do you prefer a softer or harder graphite for your portraits. How much did the holder cost?

  • You actually don't have talent pretending to be a professional artist. You keep bullshitting others with your "skill". The results is far from the models. You must changes your glasses at least twice a week.

  • PPisang missed the #4 & 5 tip !! Art is about fun, and being yourself - Lon's drawings and tips have taken my level of drawing up to another level - also watching how he uses the angle of the lead to shade and contrast from chisel to rolling tip, or leaning on edge for sharp points has helped me relearn how I used my pencil-its not about him in these videos its about how to use the techniques...and be yourself :P

  • that kid sure blinks a lot.. hehe!

  • You sir, are a true artist. Thank you for taking the time to post such a video.

    From one artist to another.

  • Thanks!

  • can anyone tell me how to save this video in my computer?

  • w....woaw? best people drawer on youtube xD

  • this drawing is awsome i'm an artist myself i'm never good with drawing people i'm practing i'm getting a little better. i'm more into cartoons. But i watched this video and said i have to keep practing drawing more people then cartoons. But anywho the drawing is awsome.

  • Great work, and the girl looks kind of bored sitting there.

  • hehe that girl blinks alot. BUT UR AMAZING!!!! I love your work! :)

  • that would take me at least 45 minutes you've obviously alot more experienced than me though great talent

  • Thats cool everyone has their opion but i think this is a very good drawing, and this is just one in many ways of drawing. i have masters i learn from and they all say no one style is the right way or the best way for everyone. i think mr Harverly makes it look so easy because he has drawn for many years. he also never says in any of his videos do it my way. he always states just have fun with it and go with it. i think he is a great teacher his style works for me. =D

  • I am sure you could do it better. I am sure I could, too. This is just a 5 minute sketch to give some basic principles.

I didn't post these for critique, but to encourage others to draw.

  • Thank you for your help, and tips they have really help me draw better you rock!

  • i have noticed that you generally draw children's eyes bigger than they really are...is it to show their youth? do you try to make any other changes too to show how young they are??

  • It is better to error on the side of making them too big than too small.

  • @lonhaverly thats true, your a very good artist and the first do use this tech, i feel that it is a very good method and does the job well

  • Great Work. I've been teaching myself how to draw portraits. I can draw good facial features, but I can't get a good likeness. Any suggestions?
