Remember all those races and the disappointments of him not getting an Olympic medal. However he was always a superb person and great representative of Ireland and Villanova U, in the states. Perhaps his most memorable moments have to be the Wannamker mile victories. The actual races would light up with his presence and have not seemed to enjoy much attention since his retirement.

That Moscow '80 last lap is such a sickener (2:50), but his World Championship win certainly made up for it!
