@Drav1212 Umm...She's talking about video blogging...as in the stuff you actually plan and habitually record to put online. "Guy-gets-hit-in-the-crotch-with-a-baseball" videos are not video blogs. They are spontaneous and candid moments that make for entertainment and have their place on YouTube...as do video blogs. I'm sure she isn't dense enough to say lighting and all that jazz is necessary for those moments when something just happens. I don't see any capitalist conspiracies here.
Too right, about writing stuff down. I HATE being on camera and it just takes the pressure off when I have a particular path I want to follow. I use my bears at backdrop. That kind of happened naturally but now they have become part of the presentation. And on rare occasions, they talk...yeah I know...weird...talking bears!! Once I've put a vid up, I try not to look at it again...coz I might freak out and take it down!!

@Drav1212 Two comments, 1) The internet was created by the military as military technology, but since then has turned into something entirely different. That's what happens with inventions and ideas when they're placed in others' hands. You might look at the current state of YouTube as the death of something novel and great, but many people look at YouTube today and call its progress "innovation." YouTube grew into what it is today because our culture drove it in that direction based out of need

Which is a Capatilistic venue, not supportive of Obama's "spreading the wealth" ideology. @Drav1212 Ok, the point of YouTube was to give people a venue to broadcast their creativity where otherwise they may not be able to. Now, some You Tube users are able to make money with their music and/or their directed products. What is wrong with people wanting to gain from their work? And besides, America is a capitalistic society--that is how we were able to have the Industrial Revolution, and even though we may have depression, through innovation we can make it through.

@Drav1212 You Tube is part of the WORLD wide web. Obama can't tax it because there are people allover the world posting content. Also, You Tube is like Wikipedia in this respect: even though the public can create and edit content, it is still a private business. And America is a federated republic, a democratic sort of government. For Obama to do what you suggest, we would have to change our whole government system at some point. And I do not see that happening.

NOW, youtube is all about channels that broadcast events like a TV series, it is all about "CLICK REVENUES". Youtube keeps telling their parterns to PUBLISH a video EVERYDAY, do nto worry if they are crappy, just upload somehting EVERYDAY.
You know it is funny, as we watch the "transformation" of youtube, right before your eyes. Yet, no one seems to be bothered by it. When youtube FIRST came out it was a novel idea and concept to facilitate the uploading of happen-stance and unpredictable recording of an event. These events were not planned or forcasted, these were just events that happened to be captured on a digital medium.
shouldn't you have a great video blog before telling other people the elements of a great video blog?
you're most viewed videos have more dislikes than likes, that's like rebecca black listing the 4 elements of a great music video.
