Πράγματι ο κοσμήτορας, ο οποίος συντόνιζε τις ερωτήσεις, μου έδωσε τον λόγο κι έθεσα την εξής ερώτηση (συγχωρέστε τα αγγλικά μου):

I'm afraid, that the question that I have prepared will sound silly. So allow me to ask the question and then add a sort comment....

...Government proceedings in Greece are becoming less and less democratic. You were elected one and a half year ago with a program completely different to what you apply, your members of the Parliament are not free to vote at will, Parliament itself does not need to approve Minister's of Finance decisions, Justice cannot touch members of the ruling political parties. Is this your personal vision for the future of Europe?

Do you approve this violent reaction to the non violent demonstrating students? Are you interested in listening to the voice of the new generation and the opposition, or all you want is the applause of your party members?

Απάντησε και στα δυο σκέλη. Στο δεύτερο είπε ότι η αντίδραση για την αντίδραση δεν βγάζει πουθενά και ότι θα ήθελε να καθίσουμε να συζητήσουμε. Κι αυτός, είπε, αν ήταν νέος, θα ήθελε να διαδηλώσει, αλλά αυτό δεν έχει νόημα. Να πάμε με τις ιδέες μας και τις προτάσεις μας, να συζητήσουμε [sic].

Για το πρώτο σκέλος είπε ότι η χώρα έφτασε εδώ που έφτασε επειδή δεν λειτουργούσε δημοκρατικά. Επειδή οι πολίτες δεν έλεγχαν τους πολιτικούς. Και κατέληξε - ναι, δεν κάνω πλάκα - ότι στο σημείο που βρέθηκε η χώρα ήταν απαραίτητο να κάνουμε ένα βήμα πίσω στην Δημοκρατία μας, για να την διαφυλάξουμε και να μπορέσουμε στο μέλλον να την εμβαθύνουμε. Κι έτσι, ο ανεκδιήγητος, κατάφερε να επιστρέψει εκεί απ' όπου άρχισε: στον Παπαδόπουλο.
