@arcchris Most cars have the diff (the oval thing) positioned to one side. It's the bit that the drive train leads through so by having it off centre means you can have the prop shaft going down one side of the car instead of the centre, also useful if you mount your engine sideways.

you can skip rocks across water based on their linear speed...if you think of the tires' surface as being linear and you make them spin really fast (creating a lot of "friction" wthe the water just like the rock you skip) then it is kind of like the car is now the rock since the pieces of it (the tires) that make contact with the water are moving really fast with respect to the water

These cars can drive over water. The tyres disperse enough water that it makes the car float. Only works at high enough speeds and only if the car is as light as one of these modified trucks.

No, the tires dont dispisperse water and make it float. If it were to stop dead, it wouldnt float. The truck drives across the water using a paddled tire that works somthing like a paddle steamer. So truck is psuhing itself over the water its not, "floating"

water displacement is how much water is displaced when an object is put in there. These tires dont have enough buoyancy to make the truck float. The tires a merely pushing the truck over the water. Not making it float
