    just eat very little every 2 hours and keep it under 600 calories your metabolism will be on fire!

    and drink lots of water in between.

  • Luke, there was nothing wrong with you in the first place. Not everyone is "ripped" and indeed you don't have to be, to be healthy. What was your BMI at the time? This is a good indication of health (although it can be misleading for athletes etc). You should try to be happy with the body you have ,it's the only one you'll ever have, especially as it seems pretty healthy to begin with!! Count your blessings, you have what lot's of people strive for. (Oh, youth is wasted on the young, lol!!)

    I know heaps of athletes that eat whatever they want and are still in incredible shape. Mike mentzer a bodybuilder used to eat danishes and whatever he wanted to get down to 5% body fat for competitions. Many footballers, cyclists and sprinters do the same.

    If you eat less then you need, you will lose weight.

    If you don't believe me thats fine. You go have your egg whites and tuna, I'm gonna go have a pizza instead!

    when i eat only foods i love i lose weight fast, when i throw in stuff i don't like or just whats in the fridge out of boredom, or what i think I'm 'supposed to' eat because some annoying relatives or friends say so I put on about 10-15 pounds.

    I don't know how this method would work except for really picky eaters like myself tho..

  • when you were cutting down on caloric intake for the day, did you ever get hungry? If so did you snack or what did you do to not starve but not take in too many calories?

  • I didn't get hungry that often. I ate 11 calories per pound of bodyweight for 3 days, then every forth day I would eat 2-3 times this amount! This gave my metabolism a boost and kept my cravings to overeat in check.

    I realised if I didn't do this, I would eventually binge (because my cravings would run wild!) and eat well over 10,000 calories a day anyway.

    So eating this much, allowed me to overeat, but it prevented me from bingeing.

  • similar story to mine i was fat all up until high school where i did sports when i got out of high school i had a kid at 18 so started to work alot and had no time to exercise 2 years passed and ended up splitting with my wife ive been working out for the past three months trying to get back in shape i had lost 80 pounds in high school now i need to lose 90 ive lost only 20 so far

  • I know it sounds crazy but all I did was focus on eating less total calories everyday. If you eat less than you burn off you are going to lose weight. It's that simple :-)

  • let me tell you, you don't just have to eat salads, there are hundreds of other options that are healthy and good for you and can help you loose weight or just not make ou fat...but you do have to take care of your self..I'm doing that and in four months I have lost 25 lbs ..no pills..just excersice and healthy diet...no animal fats...at all.and I'm ok.

  • Congratulations on your weight loss. My opinion is that you simply dont have to eat super strict or "healthy" to lose weight. This forces us to give up and crave foods we enjoy.

    To me it seems that you must enjoy eating foods that are healthy, becuase you have been able to stick to it for 4 months. I commend you for that. But I simply don't have the willlpower.

    One last tip, animal fats are some of the healthiest foods you can eat. Have you seen the work of Weston A. Price?

  • yes you can eat foods you enjoy that ARE GOOD FOR YOU! see you can replace lots of things that taste food but are bad for your heart...I really think that we have to be wise, not just eat all we want...there has to be a limit somewhere...and remember not only fat people have heart attacks...some skinny or thin people too..maybe for a heart problem may be for what they eat even when they don't et fat, my uncle had a stroke and he's not fat doctor said because of all the beef he eats..so be wise.
