i agree everyone about your voice. I am currently listening to Pride & Prejudice on audio book and some readers are horrid...i could listen to your voice for the whole book...you really should look into it....and let us know ...good luck

i have problems with reading small words for a long time. can you make the word bigger or is it just the same small lettering?

Hi, you can change the font size in 5 or 6 stepts. If you choose XL, it is realy big and you don't have any problems reading anything.

The 700 is not in production anymore. The follow up is the 600 (but has no side lights). You have to look around, maybe you are able to find a used one. They are hard to get at the moment.

Yes, you can change the font size of pdf documents. No problem.

I think it is realy good for reading in the dark. I love it.

@mossite Don't think this was a joke, your voice has great potential for other applications such as reading books, or voice overs, commercials, etc. Not bad to get paid for using your voice - you should look into this.

You say you have no problem with gray text, less contrast etc, but I am looking for an e reader for my mother who has cataracts coming and needs large clear text, preferably black on white.

So, can you change the font size and sharpen the contrast, or darken the text color?

umm if u see it ...the pdf reader display are made to be read as same as real books so the display will not hurt ur eyes 4 sure....and is reallli light ...that u can,.t get in pd f reader..4 me reading pdf reader in pc is realli annoying

You transfer them from a PC to your reader with a USB cable, much like the way you sync your iPod with your iTunes library. The best part? Your book will NOT disappear like you-know-who did...lol

This eBook can be used as a normal PDA on which to take notes, write or draw as if on a normal sheet of paper? I do not care to use it to read books, but as "electronic agenda"? Thanks for your reply!

no it's not an agenda-there isn't any clendar notebook, clock etc. you can only make an adnnotation but can't export them to the pc in the easy way. i make an note in the book and then simpy open adnotation file and use copy-paste. it;s only ebook reader. great indeed:)

i am an engineer, and would like to buy this think so i can carry all of my reference books with me in one place. I think that this would be a good career investment for me. it would be nice to have access to all my engineering reference material / charts / texts / and theorty in such a small portable device.

for pdf reference books i suggest a Kindle DX. i know its expensive but i owned a prs-505 before the kindle dx and it was a nightmare with tables and graphs

Awesome review. Especially thank you for explaining the notes function. I was curious how that would work out... I'm still curious about whether or not it will accept handwriting or doodles but the on-screen keyboard is pretty neat.

No, it will not accept handwriting or doodles in the note function. But it works just fine with the keyboard.

Thank you so much for the review, can i just check how is the contrast like, ? some people have commented that the contrast is too grey and not dark enough. Another qn is where do you purchase your ebooks. The newest ebooks if you wanted to read. Does sony read mobi books?

You're welcome. The contrast is not as big as on the PRS 505, but I like the one of the 700, since it is not so exhausting for your eyes. In the last few seconds you can see the contrast pretty well.

I have no problemas at all reading anything on my reader.

We have the chance to buy them in several german bookstores. So it is no problem. And no, it does not read mobi books as far as I know. Hope that helps you a little bit.

I live in the UK, and of course over here too the 700 is not available to try before you buy - but watching your review was the next best thing! I think the highlighting and search functions are so useful. I can't wait until the reader arrives.

I ordered mine through B&H photo video in the States. Ordered it on Thursday afternoon and it was already here in Germany on Friday. Since UPS does not deliver on weekends I got it on monday.

I couldn'T show all the good functions he has. You can also change the font size in 5 different sizes, realy great! You can zoom in documents and lots of more. But the review would become to long :) I could talk for hours about it.

Thank you for your review and for mentioning the website you purchased the ereader from. I am waiting for the PRS-900 right now , but I live in France, and the ereader will not reach this market for quite a while.

I have a question about the shipping. Shipping to France for a PRS-700 has a 120$ VTA increase in prices. What option of shipping did you choose? UPS/fedex? Or one of the other two where you do not pay VTA right away? If it was one of the other two options. Did you have to pay the VTA?
