  • he actually looks like he is on drugs

  • funny and here I thought that dilated pupils was a sign of there being less light, or being on drugs, learn something new everyday.

  • my pupils always look dilated, lol...hehehe

    i crack myself up.

    someone pass the ridalin

  • 2 corrections on what he said. Indeed the subconcious programs are 1 million times more active than the concious brain, but . . . It is likened to the helm of the ships wheel rather than a stow away. Subconcious programs cannot become aware and alter course, our concious thinking mind can, And does. 2nd correction - We can indeed become aware of the programs which he claimed we don't have access to. I do it all the time. It is in this awarness that we also have choice to alter our course.

  • This is like a complex way of saying the subconscious exists. I already knew that.

  • why was the ending so funny?

i wanna buy this book now

  • @Layiloe Because those people listened to Dark Side of The Moon?

  • When I took science in high school, I always pictured the brain as an office with little people working overtime, making sure everything runs smoothly. The red and white blood cells were messengers, and diseases were enemies waging war against the red and white blood cells. Science was a very interesting course to say the least.

  • Osho- The book of understanding

  • Cool, getting close to the realization that there is no you.

The assumption that there is a "you" experiencing reality is the biggest lie of all.

  • @Shotgunnerhell Nobody fucking cares.

  • @Shotgunnerhell What's a Reddit?

  • @GENIUSGT its the front page to the internet

  • @squealyparsuperstar Oh you mean Digg.com?

  • This guy is fucking adorable.

  • you don't get to choose your engineering nor the information it gets exposed to...

  • I also have observed the same thing, when I try to remind something, I start thinking and it's like switching the searching function in my mind :) and after no result, I continue doing other things; then unexpectedly the word comes from my mouth, after the secret processes have done their job :))

  • fif

  • i wish i could of seen this whole lecture from beginning to end, because what he's saying doesn't make sence to me... your thoughts are you, your brain is you.

and as for having an idea (invention) and my brain being at work for weeks on it, i don't believe that either. just the other day i seen something and immediately my brain thought of a way to improve it, make it better, more efficient.

and then it's like an out of control bullet. more thoughts, more ideas, more inventions.

  • @angel2rx It would be worth it to read his book if you want to understand what he's saying better. The main point is that your conscious mind is not the only thing governing how you act. In fact, it's a relatively small part. And he's not saying every thought takes weeks to develop. He's saying many times when you believe you've "just" thought of something, it's a result of the interplay between conscious and unconscious observations over a long period of time.

  • @MidoriFan10: very cool, will try.

  • It sucks that I have to pay to watch the whole video. I earn minimum wage and have to spend my money on bills and food. So I'm not paying to watch the rest of this. Fuck the monetary system.

  • @akrulla The full video is available for free on our website (link is in the video description). Thanks, FORAtv

  • @ForaTv Oh dear. So sorry. And thankyou. :)

  • @akrulla Many places only claim to have the item for free then the complexities of the payment schemes will claim otherwise. Will the website be just another sample?

  • This pretty much disproves the notion of free will and along with it all religions.

  • this is so interesting!

  • Carl jung. Spaced out on that guy for years. Freud's shadows stretches far in psychology.

  • Fuck the gap

  • I can recommend the debate with Henry Makram at the end of the complete video.

  • Maybe this unknown brain work is what some people perceive as god's power.

  • The brain is working while we are asleep as well.

  • If you can't access it, control it or use it,

    it's not you!

    Face it:

You are possessed by a slimy, obscure, cryptic, sex maniac who lives in a dark place.

    Don't call me!

    - What?

    - Gimme back my keyb!

    - No!

  • @Z1BABOUINOS "If you can't access it, control it or use it," Well you definately are using it. Even If it only like a passenger on a boat. Still you cant access or control most of your bodies functions that doesnt mean they arent part of you. Your brain is you, even if that which you call self is not in whole what your brain does.

  • @Greathiway

YOU, are your conscious part. Even at functions under conscious control, lets say breathing, your brain can literally shut YOU down, and take full control. So, it's not just YOU. It's YOU, and your brain. And this symbiosis is not always harmonious. It can lead to a ventilator machine, or a court decision, sending YOU to a mental hospital, instead of prison (in contradiction to your last argument).

  • @Z1BABOUINOS

"Even at functions under conscious control, lets say breathing, your brain can literally shut YOU down, and take full control."

If you try to stop breathing I mean.

Or/and, in case of hyperventilation. Deliberate, or not.

  • @Z1BABOUINOS "YOU, are your conscious part" That what we call the self is not itself conscious. What creates self is the brain; and thats what YOU are. What our image of self is not even one function.

". It's YOU, and your brain" YOU are commiting the Homunculus Fallacy.

  • @Greathiway

Maybe it's because YOU are committing the fallacy of the single cause, that makes you see things this way.

"Your brain is you, even IF..." is causal oversimplification.

Neurology, psychiatry, psychology, philosophy, even the legal system, as mentioned earlier, differentiate what is YOU, from the unconscious functions of a specific part of the brain. I tend to agree, as with this video.

Of course, you can discard all that, and oversimplify... hmmm...

  • 3:03 He seems to suggest that if our subconscious brain thinks of it then it is not ourselves who thinks of it. Am I not the entire body I am comprised of including the entire brain? Then why does he make a distinction between "me" and my brain?

  • @ProtagonistNonTheist

By "you" he means your conscious brain, the part of the brain you are aware of. Of course your subconscious brain is part of you, but the point is that "you"(your consious brain) didnt think of it all on its own, like people often mean when they say, "I just thought of something". I think that your confusion is based on a linguistic misinterpretation.

  • @dudesonman4200 it's also in the definition of what one calls oneself "this is me" - when I talk about myself, I talk about the whole of me, not just the conscious part. That too is a matter of self-awareness. Semantics... semantics...

  • 1:58 What the hell is that 'nnvf nnvf' sound?

  • @Skindoggiedog have u ever delivered a speech?

  • Comment removed

  • Of course no one realised this until his book. This is obvious.

  • Who knew the brain is like a soap opera.

  • @thesparitan LOL more like soap (slippery) than opera. lol
