I think, that their point is how you dispose of consoles perhaps. I'm not sure about PS2's and old Xboxs, but how many of you have chucked them in the rubbish? A landfill sight full of old consoles will leach their chemicals into the waterways of your home country; or simply release toxic chemicals into the air whilst they rot.

The logic is simple. Money is only a created value that trades for limited natural resource. Greed is the main drive in this system. There is an unfair distribution and management of earths resources due to this, leading to, for example, starving nations on one side, and other nations full of obese people on the other end. well have u stripped a console b4. as an avid gamer myself i believe that they do have chemicals in them like lithium ion rechargable batteries, beryllium components in chips, and pvc and numerous plastics in them. it's what's inside the box not outside they have more scientific proof than us gamers.
I have stripped one or two consoles. Only ones that have broken though, like my N64, but not looked at them in detail (just took them apart for fun :-)) and I haven't actually stripped any from this generation.

alright i just went to that website at the end and so far EXTENSIVE research has been done and the sony ps3 is the most green due to limited use of hazardous pvc and bromine fire retardent chems. it just has high enery consumption. xbox360 has high pvc and bfr content but good chem management and came in 2nd. wii is by far the worst since its so old gen becuase chem management sux rox. pretty much now the 3 companies are racing toward green by 2010 so far sony is leading with samsung and others.

I actually used to agree with them at one point, and I do agree that the whales need saving, and the environment is becoming a wasteland. But that doesn't mean they can take away my Wii just because it's got a few supposedly "hazardous" chemicals inside of it! Surely I'm not dumb enough to eat my Wii-mote! I've got advice for GP: don't use scare tactics. They never work!

this is such utter trash. think seriously, when there is so much causing pollution in the world, the effect from games consoles is unimportant. as Andyrfc86 said GreenPeace is trying to stop technological advancement in all shapes and forms. they are bunch of hippies with a website and a campaign that has hundreds of people every year donating their hard earned money to a rather wasted cause. they should be saving rainforests from logging and animals from poachers not protesting against games.

The logic is simple. Money is only a created value that trades for limited natural resource. Greed is the main drive in this system. There is an unfair distribution and management of earths resources due to this, leading to, for example, starving nations on one side, and other nations full of obese people on the other end. Nature gets turned into to cash, which is used to manufacture pollution and disease. What a perfect combo !

I have stripped one or two consoles. Only ones that have broken though, like my N64, but not looked at them in detail (just took them apart for fun :-)) and I haven't actually stripped any from this generation.
It just annoys me that Greenpeace is trying to tell us things we already know and make it seem like a big deal.

it's not that big of a deal i mean 360's are poisounous if people eat or put em in their mouths which i doubt would happen unless it's babies. in my opinion gp is a good organization for raising awareness but you can't make a huge deal out of consoles. the companies themselves know this and are trying harder and harder to reduce ewaste and chemical emissions so it shoul'nt be a problem.

alright i just went to that website at the end and so far EXTENSIVE research has been done and the sony ps3 is the most green due to limited use of hazardous pvc and bromine fire retardent chems. it just has high enery consumption. xbox360 has high pvc and bfr content but good chem management and came in 2nd. wii is by far the worst since its so old gen becuase chem management sux rox. pretty much now the 3 companies are racing toward green by 2010 so far sony is leading with samsung and others.

Personally I believe they're targeting our precious game consoles because they believe that if we(young people) are informed about the chemicals then maybe we would be more inclined to change things and make things better for the future. Besides we are the future of the world. If we don't change things, it would just get worse. All these companies depend on us their target market to sell these game consoles,so IF we wanted greener game consoles that are safer for the environment they will do it.
