  • LSD4life..please link me to a single bit of peer reviewed archaeology that has EVER even slightly supported ANY of the preposterous claims made in the BM.

JS said that EVERY word in the book was absolutely true ..i trust that you can at least agree that smith was NOT being truthful when he made this unfortunate claim.

  • @woodenmajor BMAF.org

That site shows allot of the proof.

    81 evidences and counting

  • justriniamn ..that some jews traveled to north africa and settled arround the med is EXACTLY what any reasonable person WOULD expect ..after all a person could pay passage and travel by ship all over the western med in the ancient world ..this is in no way to be confused with the PREPOSTEROUS notion that bronze age jews sailed themselves east across the entire pacific BEFORE the polynesians discovered new zealand or hawaii ..

there isnt a "mormon science " and also "regular science" ,ok?

  • @woodenmajor The book of Mormon is not a fabrication. Get a clue. As archaeology is furthered in the meso american area, the history books are being rewritten.

  • what does it mean ? ..it means that the LDS has produced a slick authentic looking video production to beguile the innocent and ignorant as to mistaking THIS odious production with something produced by a reputable and respectable movie maker .based on actual scientific consensus and peer reviewed archeaology ,maritime history ,linguistics and DNA .

we have a fairly good idea of when people first came to america ,from where and the journey's path ..no ancient jews came in a boat..ok?

  • @woodenmajor no we don't. There are so many things we don't know. If you study more history you'll find out that the Jews fled to many parts of the world. There are even Black Jews in Africa and Jewish settlements all around the Mediterranean. Don't confuse lack of evidence as proof that something doesn't exist. They used to say that people didn't write on metal plates or plates of gold in that area. That has been proven to be wrong.

  • interesting video, i'm still not convinced, imo. Its too vague to assume the book's meaning was a tall skeleton and dual rudder

  • So if they learned how to build a ship how come they never built anymore once they got here. You would figure the native americans would make good use of them or at least show ships in their art. Or am i out of line by using common sense. I know i would make a bad mormon since i have common sense and use of logic and reasoning.

  • sounds and looks like speculation to me. All could have, should have, would have lol. But no real evidance to support the clames. There is tons of evidace showing J.S. was a fruad, and yet all this speculation lol

  • @greeneyesangel69 Religious claims with no evidence?? :O Shock Horror!!

  • Not only are Bison, Jaguars, Turkeys , python, sloth, armadillo, monkeys , racoon, Tapir, ,Quetzal birds not mentioned in the B of M. But also Stone buildings pyramids or ziggurats are not mentioned in the book of mormon.

DNA mormon apology now says they sailed there guided by gods Liahona to greeted by the Mayans. The promised land had to be shared. Zarahemla remains a figment of Joseph Smiths imagination.

  • I liked how Monson told this story. You can see the breath of deceit slitter out of the gaps of his teeth. Always good to hear the vast amounts of fictional stories the leaders tearfully tell.

  • @YAAUFA To speak evil of God's prophet is to damn yourself. I would highly suggest that you recant and repent. You laugh at this. Tell me about Noah's ark? Any ideas? Wasn't that just as crazy? Do you believe Noah built an ark? I do. But I don't have to see the ark to know he did it.

  • @CorbinAllred

Not GOD's prophet. Thomas Monson is a man who worked his way up the corporate ladders of the church, like the men before him. The bofm has no historical/archaeological evidence...except for the evidence Smith stole when he copied percentage of the bible. The Book of Genesis is where you'll find the story of Noah's Ark. Genesis means "the beginning or origin" In Genesis the Ark rests on the Mountains of Ararat. Funny how Nephi's ship has almost the same storyline. Copycat?

  • @YAAUFA I'm so sorry you feel the way you do. Your only saving grace is your ignorance, but unfortunately, not even your ignorance will save you in the end. God holds His people responsible to find out His truths on earth. President Thomas S. Monson is God's prophet on the earth today. You are saying the historical/archaeological evidence is what you build your faith on, it's clear. Faith has everything to do with what you CAN'T see. The story lines on the ships are 100% different.

  • @YAAUFA You would know this if you had read the BofM and actually new the story of Nephi building the ship according to the Lord's commandment. It nothing to do with animals, and everything to do with getting the Lord's people out of Jerusalem as it was about to be destroyed. They landed in the Americas and that is where the rest of the BofM takes place. You know not of what you speak. Before you are so quick to judge, I'd do some HEARTFELT study and prayer. Your own "intellect" is not enough.

  • @CorbinAllred

Being a member for over 37 years, I think I know the story pretty well. Thomas Monson is a man who worked his way up the corporate ladders of the church, like the men before him. Stories taken, plagiarized, twisted, and full of mistakes.

  • @YAAUFA

You have left the Church, but you can't leave it alone, can you? You have read all of the anti-Mormon literature you can find. You go to anti-Mormon sites to get more "ammo" against the Church. Not because you want to show us the "truth", but because you want to reassure yourself that you have made the right choice. You post your jabberwocky on LDS sites to convince yourself that you have made the "change" and are really converted to the "truth". Good luck, you need it.

  • @GaryKColeman

In Utah right now. Checking out all the polygamist at Walmart at this moment. Who are you the lds media police? I have the church missionaries at my home once every two weeks tying to lure me back in. i have the freaking bishopric over asking to come back. And you have the idiotic nerves to speak on nothing you know about. Got the go...there ringing my items up at Walmart in Utah next to old herrimann.

  • @YAAUFA

My observations are more accurate than you care to admit.

  • @GaryKColeman

Get a life! Troll around youtube acting as a beacon of light for mormonism. The old pitch of anti mormon sites is really old. Nothing I said about mormonism is false....all fact and all true. Just got back from Utah this evening. Spent spring break with my family in St. George, Utah among other places. Met real mormons who carry the original 1830 bofm (the unedited version) and the bofc(original d&c). The stories were unbelievable but nothing that would interest YOU.

  • @YAAUFA

"Troll" YouTube? I only comment on LDS sites. Usually with those people making stupid claims or that have their heads where the sun don't shine.

You, on the other hand, "troll" the LDS sites, and then you are suprised when someone challenges your comments. You do it to bolster your confidence.

I am well aware of the corrections Joseph made. I also know why those changes were made. The reasons can be found at fairlds.org, but you probably won't be interested.

  • @GaryKColeman

Stupid claims that you fearfully deny but the church does not. Never surprised at the self-appointed lds apologist because the leaders are self appointed as well. Giving 3 plus interviews for a GA position does not have any merit from GOD only from men. You have not once challenged or answered a comment of mines, instead you reply with attack gestures for the facts I give. The FAIR/FARMS group is there to keep the faithful...faithful! Use your own mind that GOD gave you.

  • @YAAUFA

What exactly is your "self-appointed" role? Are you the avenging angel bearing the trumpet of truth? Have you "appointed" yourself to save everyone from the evil and wicked Church?

Challenging your comments is like convincing the Flat Earth Society that the earth is round. All of the proof in the world won't change your mind.

  • @GaryKColeman

My self-appointed role is to unwrap, unearth, and uncover the lies that I was taught and taught others. I am no avenging angel nor am I a Danite. Challenging my comments is useless because I use to think like you!

  • @YAAUFA

"After you have warned everyone, where do you tell them to go to find the truth?

  • @GaryKColeman

Here's the truth. God lives! He does not dwell in Masonic Temples. Jesus Christ The Lord and Savior of this World..IS THE SAVIOR. If you find that in a church than fine. But if that church teaches opposite or adds to what is given as a great gift than you need to re-evaluate who you really believe in and your personal relationship with Christ. Feeding urself "i know this church is true" is robotic. I was taught that and I taught my children also. CHRIST is TRUE.

  • @YAAUFA

You don't mention the Bible, but I assume that is where you direct people to go.

What does a person have to do to receive salvation?

  • @GaryKColeman

Let me see. First it was "where do you tell them to go to find the truth"? NOT the lds church! Now its "what does a person have to do to receive salvation. Well you don't need to be a member of the lds church, a full tithe payer, attend masonic temple sessions, sealed in a masonic temple, serve a mission, etc. Get the point.

  • @YAAUFA

I didn't ask what "not to do", but if you aren't comfortable with talking about what "to do", that is all right.

  • @GaryKColeman

Why would i be uncomfortable? The noose is no longer around my neck. Its an lds tactic on authority. I already know what you believe in! I just answered the question from an lds perspective. But the answer is so simple....its in between the lines.

  • @YAAUFA

You have condemned the LDS Church as being false and have left. Yet, when I ask a question, you answer from an LDS perspective. For some reason you don't answer from your own perspective. I don't know if that is because you are uncomfortable, or if you aren't clear on your beliefs, or if you don't have a conviction of those beliefs, or what. You seem to be tapdancing around the issue. Only you can answer why.

  • @GaryKColeman

The only one tap dancing is you. You try to spew out your questioning like I am someone who is investigating the church. EXODUS answered the question on salvation and baptism. The problem is YOU DO NOT BELIEVE in the Bible. You believe in the Bible as far as it is translated correctly(Smith failed at that).

  • @YAAUFA

You are not obligated to answer my questions or to respond to my postings. If you are more comfortable with someone else doing it, that's fine with me.

  • @GaryKColeman The good news that the Bible tells us is that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose from the dead (1 Cor. 15:3-4). By this gospel we can be saved from the righteous judgment of God the Father by faith in Christ alone (Eph. 2:8-9; Rom. 5:1). This salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. We can't add to what Christ has done, nor do we maintain our salvation by our good efforts.

The best verse is John 3:16!!

  • @Exodus314IAM

Glad to see you are following this. Perhaps you can give YAAUFA some help.

I think this will cover it: A person must believe that Jesus is the Son of God and accept Him as his personal Savior and Redeemer to receive salvation.

Now just a couple of questions. Will only those who are saved be resurrected? Is baptism in any way necessary for salvation?

  • @GaryKColeman The first question; resurrection means to be raised from the dead (John 5:28,29). Jesus is the only one who has received a resurrected body. That is why He is called the first-fruit from the dead (1 Cor. 15:20-23). We (the true Christians) will receive our bodies either at the rapture or when Jesus returns to earth.

Read 1 Corinthians 15 for a better understanding.

    Cont...

  • Next question; No baptism is not in any way "necessary" for salvation, you see salvation is because we are justified by faith (Rom. 5:1; Eph. 2:8), not by faith and a ceremony (Rom. 4:1-11). You see, a religious ceremony is a set of activities or forms peformed by someone. In the Bible circumcision was a ceremony where one person performed a religious rite on another person. Likewise, baptism is also a ceremony where one person performs a religious rite on another person.

    God Bless!

  • @Exodus314IAM

Concerning the people who lived since the advent of Jesus, but never heard of Him and could not accept Him or reject Him; will they be condemned to hell or will they be saved by His grace?

  • @GaryKColeman The answer is in Romans 2:14-16 where Paul tells us that those who have never heard of the law are not imputed sin under the law. Paul also tells us that those who follow the law (like the practicing Jews) will be judged by the law. The people who have never heard of the law are judged by the law of God which He has placed into our hearts.

  • @Exodus314IAM

From what you say, billions of people will be judged by the feelings in their hearts, and that judgement will be equal to the judgement that those who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior will receive. That is truely salvation by Grace alone, to enter Heaven without believing in the Resurrected Savior.

  • @GaryKColeman The Bible indicates that certain people are chosen by God for His purposes. Examples include King David, the Levites as the priests of God, Abraham, and the tribe of Judah.

The New Testament says that God has elected or chosen people for salvation. Jesus used the Greek word eklektos to refer to those who were chosen by God during the end times. Jesus indicated that He chose the apostles for God's work and that it was not their own choice.

So feelings will not save you, only God!

  • @Exodus314IAM

"The people who have never heard of the law are judged by the law of God which He has placed into our hearts." I don't think the law is visible or audible, so it must be detected by feelings. People will be judged by their "feelings" of God's law. If they can't be saved, what good is the law?

If God has "chosen people for salvation," has He chosen any for damnation? Has He predetermined who will be saved and who won't?

  • @GaryKColeman "People will be judged by their feelings"? those who know the gospel, study it, and teach it will be under stricter judgment, since they have the ability of guide others, or lead them astray not by feelings. Jesus, in the parable of the Master and the slaves (Luke 12:41-48) talked about the difference in judgment between those who know the will of God vs. those who do not know.

"has He chosen any for damnation?" this is impossible, this is like saying God created evil.

  • @Exodus314IAM

The question is not about those who know the gospel and study it. It is about those people who have never heard of the law being judged by the law of God which He has placed into their hearts.

How do they know what that law is?

  • @GaryKColeman That is what I said, how can someone be judged by a law they do not know? If you go to another country and they have a law that says you cannot wear green shoes and you have on green shoes, how can you be held by that law? Now if you know the law, it is posted and you have them on you will be judged.

  • @Exodus314IAM

That is good news! Billions of people who never heard of Jesus can be exalted to Heaven without confessing Jesus. That is only fair, since they didn't know the law.

  • Elder Costa said Brother Beecroft reflected on how the gospel bonded people from different economic classes, including a wealthy convert named Thomas Tennant, who was included among the traveling Church members.

  • Before leaving England, he paid $25,000 to buy a home that Brigham Young offered for sale to replenish the Perpetual Emigration Fund, a purchase that provided the greatest single contribution to financing the 1856 emigration. Brother Tennant died, however, before reaching the Salt Lake Valley.

  • They would be supported, but "not after the manner of men."

  • Being a child in Utah is better than being a child in almost every other state in the country, a new report shows.

According to the Annie E. Casey Foundation's annual Kids Count Data Book, a national and state-by-state report that includes key measures and statistical trends on the condition of America's children and families, Utah ranked fourth overall this year -- a drop from third in last year's data book.

  • This involves experimenting with blogging missionaries, self-produced member profiles and stereotype-bursting videos. The American-born church, which has been harnessing technology to promote the faith since the 1920 radio days, sees great potential in fast-paced storytelling.

The Internet is the new "town square," said Ron Wilson, manager of Internet and marketing for the church. "And Mormons are taking to it like never before."...

  • Not so long ago, the LDS Church prohibited its missionaries from using the Internet, even to contact their families. The system then loosened a bit to allow weekly e-mails home and some occasional viewing of church materials.

Now the nearly 14 million-member Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is attempting to revolutionize the way Mormons find converts and it's all online.

  • Lynn Samsel, who directs the Church humanitarian response office, said the Rose Canyon Stake's emergency plan response was followed as designed. Such a plan was invaluable to the local members and others in the community.

"The stake already had a plan and [public safety] relationships in place," said Brother Samsel.

  • Homes are evacuated as a fire rages in Rose Canyon near Herriman, Utah, on Sept. 19. Many residents of the area had just a few minutes to gather a few belongings and flee their homes. Local wards implemented emergency plans to ensure the welfare of members and others.

  • Civic and Church emergency response officials have saluted the Herriman Utah Rose Canyon Stake and its leaders for having a well-organized stake emergency plan that allowed for a timely evacuation and reliable communication during the harried moments when it appeared the fast-moving blaze might spread into their homes and meetinghouses.

  • He shared a story of 850 missionaries serving is West Africa who were not endowed because the temple was thousands of miles away. When a temple was constructed in Ghana and the missionaries were able to go through the temple and receive their endowment. They went back to work in their same areas and they were more obedient and better able to share the gospel.

  • “Through all ages, God has conferred sacred ordinances to his people in Sacred Space…The ordinances administered in Sacred Space have the capacity to give great power to those worthy to receive them,” said President Workman.

  • Latter-day Saint readers will note with interest the authors' dedication "For Hugh W. Nibley, who showed the way." Although the book is by no means overtly (or even covertly) designed to preach Mormonism (though "Mormon Temples" are treated on pages 190-193), the inspiration of Nibley's passion for the temple is apparent on every page of it for those familiar with his work.

  • It concludes with a chapter on "Modern Conceptions of Solomon's Temple" that ranges from the Reformation to Freemasonry, from Renaissance painting to the politics of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem (where both authors have lived for extended periods).

  • "Crave For Light," his six-member Moscow band that performs rock and popular music, is comprised of three LDS members and three nonmembers. Their latest CD is different from past releases — it features LDS hymn arrangements.

  • Edited by Donald W. Parry, Daniel C. Peterson, and Stephen D. Ricks

(each of whom also author a chapter), the 800 + page volume contains

contributions by 31 scholars, 10 of whom are not Latter-day Saints,

reflecting the wide appeal of Madsen's academic work and influence.

The non-LDS contributors include the noted biblical scholars David

Noel Freedman, James H. Charlesworth, and Jacob Milgrom.

  • The book is

organized into five sections: "Philosophy and Theology," "LDS

Scripture and Theology," "Joseph Smith and LDS Church History,"

    "Judaism," and "The Temple."

  • This is particularly so in our own Latter-day Saint congregations. Each Latter-day Saint family and individual should carefully consider whether their attitudes and actions toward others properly reflect Jesus Christ’s second great commandment - to love one another.

  • @omiolo "should carefully consider whether their attitudes and actions toward others properly reflect Jesus Christ’s second great commandment - to love one another." How is it possible for anyone to love another person when pride and segregation is used as a shield?

  • @awolLDSasap I wish you knew who Jesus Christ is. Then we could have an HONEST conversation.

  • @omiolo If I knew Christ? Are you referring to the infinite God? "The Word, the only begotten of the Father, the mighty King, the Creator, Mediator, the High Priest and Prophet, and in His own testimony has stated there are no other Gods"? That Jesus Christ? You really shouldn't honor Josephs gospel and praise men the way you do. The priesthood and Josephs gospel creed has been set high upon a throne as the Lord of Mormonism. Josephs gospel is lord of the flies.

  • At what point in time did truth become insignificant and irrelevant in your church? It all started when Joseph and Sidney used Gods voice to steal the identity of the Israelites.

  • @awolLDSasap Which one of the traditional Christianity Creeds do you except and which ones do you reject?

  • @omiolo We believe that Jesus is God. Faith is righteousness and by Gods grace, we have eternal life with Him. We believe that prophets foretold of Christs coming and His apostles, "through the Holy Ghost" presented Jesus Christ and His gospel to the world. We believe the apostles of the Lamb are the foundation and Christ is the cornerstone that cannot be altered or moved. The holy temple, the body of Christ, "built without hands" sits upon this foundation that is also in heaven.

  • @awolLDSasap Did you ANSWER the Creeds question?

  • @omiolo Which creed? Creed is, "we believe". You know, like the lds creed, the articles of faith.

  • @awolLDSasap this is why I can NOT have an intelligent conversation with you ANTImormons.

  • @omiolo I attend a Methodist church. We believe in the Nicene creed as most orthodox Christian churches do.

  • @awolLDSasap is that the ONLY Creed you believe in?

  • @omiolo Creeds are not important. Jesus is important. Have you found Him? You know what is said about mans wisdom? 1Cr 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. 1Cr 3:20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

  • @awolLDSasap "Creeds are not important."

actually one can NOT be part of ANY EVANGELICAL national group without declaring one or more of the CREEDS as their central tenant. No money without it.

  • @omiolo You said the magic word, "Money" Where great wealth resides, evil is usually hiding under the bedsheets. In my search, I was surprised to find that money cannot purchase eternal life with God. Act 8:20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.

  • @awolLDSasap "You said the magic word, "Money""

    EVANGELISM in a nutshell.

  • @omiolo In that broad spectrum, the same would make you a Mormon fundamentalist and polygamist.

  • @awolLDSasap I didn't know I had one wife let alone many. But that is why we have ANTImormons, to help us see t hings that we could NEVER see.

  • Our parents, our young adults, teens and children should therefore, of all people, be especially sensitive to the vulnerable in society and be willing to speak out against bullying or intimidation whenever it occurs, including unkindness towards those who are attracted to others of the same sex.

  • They sailed from Nuku-alofa, Tonga, to Nadi, Fiji, then traveled by bus to the other side of the island to Suva, where they slept on the floor of a chapel and were fed by local church members. The next day, they flew from Suva to Auckland and drove two hours to the temple in Hamilton. They stayed several months in New Zealand while Loni, Vai's father, earned money for the return trip by shearing sheep for local church members.

  • In the 1950s and '60s, Polynesian converts to the LDS Church made great sacrifices to travel to the nearest temples in New Zealand or Hawaii from around the South Pacific to perform temple work for their families. The Sikahemas, who had never left Tonga, scrimped and saved for 10 years and eventually sold their few meager possessions to take their children to the temple in New Zealand in 1967

  • Nehis' boat was a 400 BC Sea Ray with wide blade cedar rudders. Not a bi mini, but a full canopy boat with trolling access from all sides.

  • @awolLDSasap that makes as much since as EVERY other lie you have spewed on YOUTUBE about the Mormons!

  • @omiolo you have no sense of humor omo.

  • @awolLDSasap it is hard to have a sense of humor when you are dealing with such desperate people, willing to throw their lives away as they fight against God.

  • @omiolo I appreciate the honesty.

  • @awolLDSasap I wish you really did!!

  • Karen Bean is assistant director of media relations for the Anaheim East Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

  • Elder Nelson said, "This is the order of the Church. In the 112th Section of the Doctrine and Covenants the Lord says the Twelve are to go out and open the doors of the nations for the gospel, which will bless their lives.

  • The blessings Elder Nelson offered upon these lands and for their people were in partial fulfillment of the Lord's declaration in 1843 to His servants: "And again, verily I say, whomsoever you bless I will bless.…" Doctrine and Covenants 132:47).

  • WOW.

Evidence backed by feelings, assumptions and guesses...pretty impressive "proof"

  • @Tobsy1981 The word "evidence" includes good feelings and excludes real facts. Void of any evidence to support "the most correct book ever written " statements, like " I know it's true , because god told me" surface like a an admission of defeat standing empty handed and deploring the enquirer that evidence is evil and not necessary.

the word EVIDENCE being used without any constitutes deceit.

  • @kramd1

    Gee that's swell.

Read my comment again and ask yourself why you wasted your time replying to it.

  • @Tobsy1981 I agree with you. re: assumptions and guesses somehow being proof or evidence.

  • But, by all accounts, those same descriptions are even better used in explaining Lartey's character off the field, and most specifically, the sacrifices he made in order to serve an LDS Church mission.

  • You remember the words from the 84th section of the Doctrine and Covenants: “And again I say unto you, my friends, for from henceforth I shall call you friends, it is expedient that I give unto you this commandment, that ye become even as my friends in days when I was with them, traveling to preach the gospel in my power” (D&C 84:77).

  • One of the great tributes the Savior can give is to call us “friends.” We know that He loves with a perfect love all of His Heavenly Father’s children. Yet for those who have been faithful in their service with Him, He reserves this special title

  • Nevertheless, he joined the tiny Thonburi Branch at 25, and at 26 he put in papers for a mission. He was called to serve in the Bangkok Thailand Mission. He was thrilled and scared. He knew a mission in his homeland would be very hard. He would be facing people who had only known him as a monk, challenging their core beliefs.

  • Seangsuwan was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 21, 1973, in a tub on a roof built to collect rainwater.

His mother was disappointed in his choice but did not fight him. The rest of his family were appalled.

  • What a bunch of deluded people. All this energy being put into explaining something that is obviously false. Sad.

  • In 1970, I received a letter from an acquaintance, Robert F. Smith, then a non-Mormon, who had just started studies at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He told of a lecture given to American students at the university (there are usually several thousand of them) by Professor Haim Rabin, President of the Hebrew Language Academy. Rabin, who has regrettably passed away, was an expert in the history of the Hebrew language

  • Typically the arguments that come to mind

have to do with either the Bible (FAIR only had one question on it

this year) or the tension-state between faith and works (also only one

question this year). For most members, those issues have been

discussed and debated over many generations of anti-Mormons, and

members typically dismiss them with a waive of the hand.

  • When some members think of anti-Mormonism, immediately they have an

image pop into their minds of the Evangelical preacher standing

outside the convention center with the bullhorn screaming that Mormons

are members of an evil cult

  • @omiolo Mormons are members of an evil cult, but then so is the Evangelical preacher.

  • @johnnywhack Oh, you KNOW that is NOT true!

  • @omiolo I KNOW that it is mor true than it is not.

  • @johnnywhack You are simply parroting what you have been told to say! Obviously it is wishful thinking on your part but as far from the truth as the pharisees were.

  • On Easter Sunday, 3 April 1836, the Prophet Elijah returned during Passover and fulfilled Malachi's prophecy (see Mal. 4:5-6) when he restored priesthood keys in the Kirtland Temple.

  • Whatever the origin of the association of Elijah with Passover, the tradition was proved correct when Elijah did return at Passover in 1836. However, he did not return at the Passover meal, when the cup was offered on the evening of Friday, April l

  • Instead, he returned on Easter Sunday, the second day of Passover, the day of the presentation of the firstfruits of the harvest.

  • the proof is "what it was not" : after the manner of men, ?

good imagination . careful in searching for the evidence you may be in back pedal apology . ie" DNA book of mormon claim "Oh the american indians are not laminates"

    what's a book of mormon scholar ?

  • huh?

  • Comment removed

  • we have volumes and volumes of evidence, and for the weak minded like yourself

    we even have pictures!

so the better question is why is your head in the sand?

  • Comment removed

  • @kramd1

    really!

instead of simply commenting on the videos maybe you should watch them and then you can see the photography, on location even!

I would also suggest you put DOWN the ANTImormon propaganda and learn the truth....

only a suggestion, NOT saying you have to forsake your errors.

  • Very interesting!

  • The doctors are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who have volunteered their time and skills to assist people in Haiti who are in critical need of medical assistance.

  • Were finding one of the greatest needs is medical care. Entire hospitals have been destroyed. Medical supplies are scarce. So this temporary medical center will be a tremendous asset, said Elder Francisco J. Viñas, the area president who oversees the Church in Haiti.

  • Joseph Smith has all eternity in Hell to think about the lies and manipulation he has did to people

  • the pharisees said the same sort of thing about the disciples of Jesus Christ.

you choose horrible people to mimic!

  • "The more we got into it, the harder it seemed to me to have our voice and the voice of others mixed together in a way that would be balanced and fair," Brown said. There is also the issue of how they could get other scholars to even participate. Who would be willing to appear in a documentary that was produced and structured by Mormons?

  • Sister Perrington could breathe a little easier when the chorus delivered its final "Amen" at the conclusion of it's recent "Messiah" performance. She spent the days leading up to the stake event singing with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir during its annual Christmas concert.

  • "The message is wonderful and the music is wonderful," she said. "I'm sure that Handel was inspired by the Lord when he composed the 'Messiah'."

  • The "Messiah" tradition is not solely embraced by the musically inclined members of the stake. Hundreds of audience members filled the stake center for the Dec. 13 performance, including some who make the production a part of their annual Christmas agenda. Sister Smith said the beloved work brings choir and audience members back every year.

  • In case you don't believe that the Mormon doctrine is wrong, imtherealthing, here is a statement which was part of a letter addressed to a BYU professor about Adam-God doctrine, written by Bruce R. McConkie (an apostle of your church at the time) in 1981:

*I do not know all of the providences of the Lord, but I do know that he permits false doctrine to be taught in and out of the Church and that such teaching is part of the sifting process of mortality.*

  • Not only does this apostle admit to not knowing everything that is going even though he is supposedly in contact with God (like when the Lord suddenly let the blacks start having the priesthood 3 years before he wrote this letter), but he also admits that the church, and its leaders, have taught false doctrines. So how do know which if your commandments are true and which arent? How can you possibly base your life off stuff like this?

  • In that same letter, McConkie also said in regards to Brigham Young:

*What he did is not a pattern for any of us. If we choose to believe and teach the false portions of his doctrines, we are making an election that will damn us.*

Opps! Too bad for all those Mormons at BYU believing in your religion!

  • I like how these anti-mormons always seem pre-occupied with anything LDS - it reminds me of when I use to do the same thing..when I fought against the LORD's church and belonged to false christianity - I did it because I knew down deep it was the TRUTH..it scared me...I needed to prove to myself it wasn't true by trying to disprove the church - didn't work..one day theser anti-momons will - the LORD willing - know the truth and leave false christianity and its false 3-headed pagan god

  • All Christianity is false. It is all made up. Including the Mormons. I am not mad because I am afraid of the truth as you put it, but because my family and friends are still being tricked by an organization that takes 10% of their money, 100% of their time, and tells them to stay away from me because I will feed them lies.

  • 7he7ruthHurts

Methinks that you think too much of yourself - I doubt your arguments are sufficient enough to effect anyone with a testimony of God to move them away from the LORD..any who do move away from the TRUTH - it is because they no longer want Christ in thier lives and want to live a life of sin.

  • Honestly? The you are a sinner so you quit the church argument? I cannot tell you how many times I have heard that already. Nice try. Mormons absolutely cannot comprehend that it is their own erroneous doctrine that leads people away from the church. They simply cannot fathom the idea that perhaps others are right, and thus they say that those people are afraid of the TRUTH (you and omiolo really love capital letters, dont you?), were offended and couldnt handle it, or transgressed.

  • Do I live a life of your so-called sin? No! I still do not drink coffee or alcohol simply because I do not like the taste. I do not do drugs because it doesnt take your God to tell me that those are illegal and can ruin ones life. I am happily married, and do not look at porn, which is something that many members in Utah (which is the #1 state in paid online porn subscriptions) cannot claim.

  • I am not in debt, do not have a family that I cannot afford to support because some old guy in Utah told me not to wait to have kids, and do not pay 10% of my income to a deceiving corporation, which is also something that many Mormons cannot claim. Utah is also #1 in the country for bankruptcies, and the Ensign and talks from leaders are constantly giving financial advice. I do not need someone to tell me how to live intelligently. I can make those choices for myself.

  • I do not discriminate against people because of the color of their skin (the Mormons did until 1978 look at the changes in 2 Nephi 30:6 in 1981, a white and delightsome people changed to pure and delightsome), and I do not discriminate against people because of their sexual orientation. I can love people and build friendships because it is something I value, and not something that the Mormon God told me was important.

  • Sin is sin..no matter what you have done or do...SIN = rebellion AGAINST GOD...whether it is pitting your finite mind against the LORD's INFINITE mind in thinking you know more than he does and HIS servants or the fact that you just were not valiant in your testimony of Chirst - sin is sin...plain and simple - who are YOU for us to listen to? - nobody - that's who - you are a rebellious child - you have been hurt probably and therefore want your pound of flesh...whatever the EXCUSE - you know it

  • Re-read the story of Korihor in the Book of Mormon..see what happened to him..in the end he KNEW he was wrong and admitted it...alas..too late.

  • Utah is also #1 in prescription anti-depressants, which tells you something about the lives its members are living.

Anyways, I am sorry if you really believe I left your church for any other reason than the churchs falseness. I experienced its deception first hand as a child, missionary, and then in various leadership positions afterwards. Say what you want but I know the TRUTH (CAPITAL LETTERS RULE!!)

  • I know Alma chapter 30 very well. If you really think that it is true, strike me down right now because I am seeking a sign! 50 bucks says that I will still be alive after your striking. Or maybe you are afraid to strike me down because you dont have faith, or because you know it isnt true? And I forgot, I cannot bet 50 bucks with you because you are not allowed to gamble because some old guy in Utah tells you not to!

  • And just as I said: no, I was not offended in any way. I read my way out of the church, through its own materials. For any intelligent being, they will realize that it is all bull and be brave enough to make their exit. As I said, you cannot comprehend this because you are afriad to hear the truth. For Mormons, the truth hurts!

  • The TRUTH does hurt huh? YOu know you are in sin and no matter how you try to bury it - it will always be there...keep piling dirt on top...it says in the scriptures of those in the last days when confronted with thier falsehoods and sins that they will wish that the very mountains would fall on them and cover them...because the TRUTH of their sins will no longer be able to be hid from all the world and themselves - that they will wish they could hide from them (sins) - they cannot abide light

  • Apparently you cannot understand the simple point of my comments. I am trying to say that I do not feel any guilt, fear, or a need to report to your church's leaders, because I know the TRUTH (AGAIN CAPITAL LETTERS). I have nothing to hide. Inversely, I am trying to tell people what I know the church (or actually corporation) to be. I would not be wasting my time trying to keep people from being deceived if I wasn't 100% sure of the falsehood of the corporation. Nice try though, imtherealthing.

  • You are trying so hard to convince yourself you are right..that is all I see in your comments...but it doesn't work with me or anyone in tune with the SPIRIT... you can't fool yourself..no matter how hard you keep trying.

  • lol whatever you want to think. I can see that you obviously cannot accept the fact that someone left the church because it isn't true. Period. I deal with the same thing whenever I talk with my family and relatives. Sometimes they ask me why I 'really' left, and when I start to tell them doctrinal inconsistencies, they literally get a scared look on their face and ask me to stop. It is really kind of sad, to be honest.

  • Danny Lopez demonstrates the assembly of a prosthetic leg to Elder Michael Francom and Sister Lorna Francom, humanitarian missionaries in the Dominican Republic. The clinic manufactures some components and fits more than a hundred patients each year.

  • Great opposition and much persecution followed the believers of [the Book of Mormon's] authenticity; but it had now come to pass that truth had sprung out of the earth; and righteousness had looked down from heaven—so we feared not our opponents, knowing that we had both truth and righteousness on our side; that we had both the Father and the Son, because we had the doctrines of Christ and abided in them.

    Times and Seasons, Dec. 1, 1842, 22.

  • And now we are working with a new material that will let us nearly double the number of prosthetic limbs next year for the same cost."

    for the truth

  • FAIRLDSdotORG

For so much BS that most do not have the time to read through it all, but because there is so much crap many are tricked into thinking: well, someone had already done the research, so it must be true. Occam's razor says that a simple explanation is usually the best one. Just show us a Lamanite or Zarahemla or some other evidence, and not this hypothetical crap.

  • "Prosthetic limbs aren't an option for most people because of the cost," said Danny Lopez, co-founder of the clinic. "Most don't have insurance, and even if they do, it only covers the cost of the doctor. But with funding from Humanitarian Services, the gift of mobility is extended to 50 people each year.

  • By the power of God I translated the Book of Mormon from hieroglyphics, the knowledge of which was lost to the world, in which wonderful event I stood alone, an unlearned youth, to combat the worldly wisdom and multiplied ignorance of eighteen centuries, with a new revelation.

  • Mayerlinth Reyes is fitted with two prosthetic legs while her daughter watches. Her new mobility will enable her to provide and care for her family.

  • The gift of mobility

Eight years ago, Mayerlinth Reyes was holding her infant son at the side of a road when she was struck by a speeding car. Her son was badly brain damaged, and both Ms. Reyes' legs had to be amputated. She then heard about Innovacion Ortopedica, a prosthetic clinic and partner with Humanitarian Services.

  • While perhaps more visible, wheelchairs aren't the only work of mobility pursued by the Church in the Dominican Republic. Two area initiatives have also made a significant difference in the lives of hundreds of people.

  • After a happy time spent in witnessing and feeling for ourselves the powers and blessings of the Holy Ghost, through the grace of God bestowed upon us, we dismissed with the pleasing knowledge that we were now individually members of, and acknowledged of God, "The Church of Jesus Christ," organized in accordance with commandments and revelations given by Him to ourselves in these last days, as well as according to the order of the Church as recorded in the N T.

    for the truth

  • And if they are not the words of Christ, judge ye...for Christ will show unto you, with power and great glory, that they are his words, at the last day; and you and I shall stand face to face before his bar; and ye shall know that I have been commanded of him to write these things....

    2 Nephi 33:11

  • And he gave some apostles and some, prophets...for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry...Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God...

    Ephesians 4:11-14

  • And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ
