I really liked your channel and this video. If you need any help getting this video exposed I use a site called tubeviews.(net) It has really helped like 20 of my main videos get to the top in position.
Thanks Tim - that was very helful and interesting. I am really keen to learn backup and accompaniment. I do play accompaniment on piano for jigs, reels strathspeys etc but for some reason can't transfer that to my dulcimer playing.
Great!! I'll check out the magazine, for sure. I've been wanting to go to HD festivals, just wasn't sure how to find them. Yes, a little "real" instruction would probably go a long way for me. Thanks again!
Thank you so much!!!! I've been trying to get other musicians to teach me how to play back-up on my Hammered Dulcimer, to no avail. The most definative answer I got was to "play the same thing, only less." Once again you have appeared to influence and expand my HD horizons! Many, Many thanks!
EG, you ought to try to go to one of the 'dulcmer camps' or dulcimer weekends and take a class on back up. It's so much fun and a great way to play in a jam session when you don't know the tune. There's so much more to cover about chords. Thw Swannanoa Gatering, the Augusta Heritage center, the Evart Hammered Dulcimer festival
are a few of the places where you can go. The magazine, The Dulcimer Player News (DPN) carries a listing as well as lots of music and instructional tips for playing.
