i use some program called screenshot utility where i press ctrl+alt+f12. i never used a program before this one. i used to do it the old fashion way.

Hey thanks man , I use to use SnagIt cracked back when I use to download illegal programs, I don't do this anymore and I don't support it. I also wanted to use Camtasia Studio because I'm planning on doing screencasting tech support in the future, so this will definetly help me. It would be better if they it was Mac compatible.

For still shots... I use prnt scrn and MSPaint, and Fraps for in-game video. I've heard of Camstudio for desktop video.

ya use camstudio with DivX codec 6.7 and WMV compression leads to good quality on Youtube, for my captures at least.
