  • Fond memories for boys and girls alike.. right??

  • O MY GOD! Love this game! Still have it and still play with it <3!

  • My memory of Mall Madness was when I was at a sleepover, and one of my friends was goofing around on the top bunk of the bunk bed and fell onto the Mall Madness game. I think that was more entertaining than the game itself. lol

  • My sis had that game. Itw asso expensive, but good fun!

  • this game was so boring.

  • What year was this commercial aired?

  • @KodyBoy555

    Circa 1990.

  • I could never find the guys section on this game. Guys like to shop too!

  • @fabiandesignz There wasn't as much awareness of homosexuals back then.

  • My parents refused to buy me this. They said it encouraged materialism and rampant consumerism. :(

  • @JustJenna87 They were right.

  • Metal Injection sent me here.

  • OMG i'm a boy but i want play it, this game look's really fun !

  • @t00x11k There were/are male pieces to play. We still have it and I play.

  • I remember playing this game and me and my cousin would play for hours to this game. I wish the mall was actually like this in real life.

  • i beat my cousins in mall madness....11 years ago (:

  • I'm going to blow chunks (pukes all the screen).

  • omg i was in love with this game. I was in 8th grade when i got it...lol

  • I used to be addicted to this game!!

  • looks cool!

  • Cute Game :)

  • @Kevlarbullets No LOL

  • I had this game. We lost the fake credit cards so we used old dead ones instead. XD

  • I MISS THE FUCK OUTTA THIS GAME. I don't know what happened to mine. oh man. memories!

  • i loved mall madness i coukdn't wait till i got it now idk where it is my parents prob threw it away though =(

  • i still own my mall madness it was fun to play, i never got to play with 4 players though

  • now that is madness

  • I remember everything on that shopping list was super expensive, unless they were on sale. Also, for me everytime I was right by the store that had the sale, it would end or I was told that my car lights were on and had to go back to start.

  • What this was, was a tool of gender socialization. This product would NEVER be marketed for males. Why? Our society does not expect or allow males to do the shopping. Males earn the money, females spend the money. An interesting fact is how the game socialized children into our capitalist society. Yes, the comments made on the credit card were also true. They wonder why our economy is such a mess.

  • OMG I FORGOT ALL ABOUT THIS GAME me and my cuzins played all the time now that im grown i see this was a way for us to get used to using credit cards lol i blame mall madness

  • I'd love to see a Dollar Tree Madness game made. "How far can you stretch your dollar?"

  • Believe it or not, this game actually helped me budget money when I was little...It is a big disadvantage to spend all your money b/c it makes you have to go to the bank in the middle of nowhere, so you have to buy the most things with the least amount of money in the stores closest to you to win.

I pulled out this game from my closet the other day when the power went out. My game was made in 1990 and still works like a charm. I pity my nephew who had to suffer through playing it with me, lol.

  • Nowadays, it would be called Walmart Madness, lol.

  • wow, we give teen girls this game...ten years later theres sex and the city and 1 out 5 people have a credit card debt.

  • Cool! Who would have guessed that a board game is the reason for our current financial crisis!

But seriously, is this not a horrid idea? What parents in their right mind would buy this for their child? I had a sitter that owned this as well as another board game that involved "calling" different boys on a pink plastic phone to hear prerecorded messages about whether or not they liked you.

It's been a while since I've ventured into a toy store; I wonder if trash like this still exists.

  • @iamnicolekidman No, there's all new trash to choose from.

    LOL

  • "sorrrrrrrry we're outta stock, TRY AGAIN LATER!!!" lol this game rocked.

  • I still have this game!

  • OMG. I so wanted this, as a kid. LOL

  • i think i still have this game LOL

  • lol you can easily notice that the girl says that "it realy talks!" 3 times lmao

  • wow board games in the 90s were really well put together and actually look like fun, even a game about shopping =P

  • I remember wanting this game when I was younger. I was so shocked to see that they did an updated version with Miley Cyrus' Hannah character. Sometimes when they update things, they are no where near as good as the original.

  • lol they couldnt be bothered to put a couple double A's in the box

  • @REZBLUE22 The batteries would be hazardous if the game was on the shelf for too long. Potentially fatal, I think.

  • Well Yeah this 1980's version Doesn't really say Game for girls , It just looks like Monopoly in a mall. sort of sense. The Newer ones with the Purple and pink Yeah That screams Girly. And now that the "barbie/Brats/Hannah Montana" look to it it's pretty much poison to Guys. I'll agree with Drie417 with it being more about how to spend, budget, save stratagize and plan on how to win. and not just materealize in all the "in" stuff. I'll have to compare this with bargain hunter some time.

  • i always wanted this game but i'm a guy so that would be awkward.

  • LMAO! You didn't miss much. My twin sister and I just had to have this game and ended up playinig it twice. Kind of sad considering how much it cost my mom to buy it for us.

  • And people wonder why we have a generation of materialistic women who worship paris hilton and kill store security guards for gucci bags

  • THERE IS A SALE AT THE KITCHEN STORE

  • Blue choo choo.

  • this game is awsome!i plays it everyday now lol

  • I am not even a chick and I have to admit this looks like a cool game.

  • I'll admit it I'm 19 and my sister is 17 and we still play mall madness to this very day.

  • I thought it was more about teaching kids how to budget money, not just go crazy spending.

  • The game that took 3 hours to build.....XD So many little pieces.

  • I played this game to I loved!

  • The only thing this is missing is the colorful, talking bottle of pills for when you can't pay off your crushing debts.

  • wow, didnt see that coming

  • I had this game as a child... I remember love playing it because it was just about spending money and using your credit cards.... Makes me wonder... that's probably why we are considered generation debt!!

  • omg i have the newer version of this game!! lmfao XD

  • sale at the shoe store

  • SALE AT THE FASHION BOUTIQUE!

  • I don't know if i should be embarassed by this but the last tiem I played this game was a year ago!

  • I played this game all the time as a kid...

and I shop at Goodwill. I guess I just never bought into the hype.

  • HOLY CRAP! I haven't even THOUGHT of this commercial for like 15 years! I remember wanting that cause it was like monopoly or something. :P~~

  • I loved this game ...the ATM had low batteries... awsome.

  • aaaaaaand, this is why we are this predicament in 2009

  • The propaganda we were fed is now oh so clear. I can't believe I used to play this game.

  • I still play this game...LOL

  • hahaha, Oh the brain washing!

  • i remember this but it doesn't have anything to do withe one saturday morning

  • this game really speaks to me

  • One of the girls is Jessica Prunell, who played Stacey in the Babysitters Club tv show, and for awhile hosted One Saturday Morning.

  • Adding comments now

  • @tracys1975 Really? I cannot find her, in the commercial. :(

  • @tracys1975

That's the first thing I noticed when I saw the commercial!

  • @tracys1975 Oh yea, I recognize her.

  • that was the old one but the new one was better

  • I played this with my cousin back in the day. The bank was always closed. LOL!!!

  • i remember this game it was so fun!

  • balletdancer, this game was out in I'd say 1990. I got it for Christmas that year and drove my parents NUTS making them pay it with me (I'm an only child!) I think it was broken by New Years I played it so much!

  • how long ago did this come out?

  • OMG!! i made my dad go out and buy me this!! i loved it!

  • I had this game ... jesus this takes me back .. I remember my friends and i lost interest 5 min into playing it

  • This game is so back in. They have a Hannah Montanna version now...so it's popular again of course.

  • wow so last century

  • I remember wanting this!

  • I loved this game. looking back it was so lame! the "credit card" was a piece of card board and "swiping" it consisted of sticking it in a slot and pushing a button with it. lol.

"there's a sale at the kitchen store!" -yeah, cause that's every 10 yearolds dream. lol

  • my friends lost the cards and had to use a plastic fork

  • stupid girls. i bet they are broke and unable to pay the $100k debts!!

  • I used to have to play this....hahaha

  • I vaguely remember this.
