Bottom line is...Lata is Lata.. and there is NO OTHER! But second to her, there is ONLY Asha...Any other singer starts at a v-e-r-y distant third. These are two legendary vocalists that India was blessed with. They both had their own struggles, but there should not be any blames...There were reasons for everything that happened in both of their lives, but their music superceeds EVERYTHING! Their body of work IS their greatest contribution.. to the Indian culture as well as to world music.

yes its fact also i feel the same we cannot compare lata and asha and lata not only wiht asha but any onther singer in this whole universe we cannot compare she is natrual talent and due to the her way how she had been god fearing and not talking against others she have always bee non the top and is on the top and will remain on the top

You are there only because of Lata. O P Nayyar gave you songs only to insult and hurt Lata. You went along and even had an affair with OP Nayyar and hurt your own legendary sister. Come on..there always is competition if Lata was not there there would have been some one else. Even Suman Kalyanpur's singing range is much better than yours. Lata did not sing cabaret but if she wnated to she could have done it!! Your sister has done many sacrifices & did not marry & is alone. Please be kind to her.

@mangeshcd1 Lataji is so greedy that few years ago, she was proud to announce that She is the Worlds Most Recorded Artist..

But , now when it is officially & finally announced that Ashaji is the Worlds Most Recorded Artist,, Few months ago Lataji wrote on twitter that. "She always concentrated on quality & nt on quantity..",

This comment made Lataji much more cheaper than she is..

Ashaji always criticizes Lataji. Lataji is very gracious and never does that. Every one has troubles. Lataji had no Godfather. I am sorry Ashaji but God has made Lataji's or NoorJehan's voice much much better than yours. You ran away with a driver and hurt Lataji who sacrificed her life for her family. Both of you are good so please be graceful atleast at this age. Focus on your own family troubles such as your daughter trying to committ suicide or bahu going to court for harassment case.

By the tough politics of Lataji many carrier was ruined like Suman Kalyanpur from the yesteryear to Anuradha Padwal to the recent past times..

Usha Mangeshkar was also stabbed under the shelter of Lataji,,thogh she did nt confess..

But, Stopping Ashaji was , is & will always be beyond her rich..!!

Ashaji killed Geeta Dutt's career. She also did the same thing to others. There are some songs of Geeta which even Asha cannot sing e.g. Mera naan chin cnin chu. Every singer has his/her own niche. Even Mukesh whose singing ranbe is limited has his own niche e.g. dost dost na raha was only meant for him. so no need to compare any one with other.
