Boy does this ever bring back memories. I remember when I saw this movie when it came out around I think it was 1989 or so. Heath Ledger's Joker was definitely superb, But I think Jack Nicholsen's interpretation of the character was the best.

In no other movie have I seen a villain as iconic as the Joker start dancing comically while destroying stuff and still be taken as a threat. You can't go wrong with Nicholson. You'd be suprised that his henchmen don't go like "What's he doing?" but he's so fun and evil to them they have to dance as well. That's why he and Hamill are THE Joker to me. They carry that camp style yet prove themselves scary villains as well.

Jack's Joker tops the list to me, though that's really just my own preference for zany, whimsical villains (Heath's Joker had this to an extent, but obviously in a much more subdued and realistic tone).

Brilliant soundtrack as well. While I can understand how Burton thought Prince and Batman was an odd mix the tunes certainly complimented the Joker's character.

It is one that truly combines the charisma and dark humour with the sadistic undertones, THE definitive Joker as always in my mind thanks to Paul Dini. Love Jack Nicholsan's in its own way though ofc.
