Such a inspirational vid, it's so easy to tell you look after your hair well, due to the bounce, fullness and length. It doesn't look like your locks have ever had a relaxer near it, which is great! If only my mum hadn't started putting relaxers in my hair at a young age (though I have to admit, on some occasions I asked for the relaxers...). Natural, unrelaxed hair IS the best!! I'm definitely keeping away from the relaxers, they only encourage breakage, burns and insecurity!

What a sweetie! Wish black women would take their time as she does -- excellent results. When we were kids, we did this in the 60's but we had the hot comb...remember you ladies of the 60's? Anyway my friend was the hot comb and Hair Rep. Don't laugh..lol Anyway mom would scold me if I didn't put that plastic fan like bonnet on my head so my hair would not 'go back home'...those were the days...:) thank you Marand313 for the fab video:)

hair is beautiful straighten, much longer than in it's natural state. i've been natural since '04 and i only straighten maybe once or twice a year. it's such a task. especially whenever i shower. the hair is not trained to be wrapped and i sweat in my sleep. but it is pretty when done.

I was debating between a chi and an INstyler. I got an Instyler as a gift recently . I probably will post a review tomorrow. One day I may get the chi just to see if there is any difference. Do you think you will ever try the instyler? Your hair is gorgeous by the way! Great job.

don't use the instyler. its bad for your hair because the plates are just metal. its not tourmaline or ceramic, just plain metal which will obviously straighten your hair BUT you will be breaking your hair in the long run.

hey i have a question. i straightened my hair yesterday and when i was done it got all frizzy so my sister did it and it was so sleek and frizz free. i wrapped it when she was done so it wouldnt frizz then when i unwrapped it in the morning and brushed it out it was all big and frizzy so i had to put it in a pony tail for school. so what can i do about keeping it frizz free while sleeping and going out in humid weather.

You need a silicone based heat protectant. And your hair must be well moisturized and deep conditioned. Try a silk wrap. :)

It looks great, and i like your tecnique, but you shouldn't use that much CHI silk infusion, or any other oil, because it will make the hair look greasy right away, and there's nothing worse than greasy hair. I suggest you use a smaller amount of it on a bigger section of hair, or use something else that's gonna give your hair moisture. And another thing... oil is gonna fry your hair like a chicken nugget if you flat iron it, so instead you should use a heat protecting spray. just my advise :)

Okay, after SEVERAL weeks of trying to find sites that show me how to get my nappy hair straight, I finally spent the last two weeks following how to grow my hair longer and keep it healthy with a perm--and I was almost convinced to go back to a perm until I just found your video! Everyone else with beautiful straight hair seems to either have really good hair or have a perm. And all of the natural sites promote only natural styles. THIS is what I was looking for! If I may suggest a GREAT flat iron, it is the Solia from folica(dot)com. I am always skeptical on trying the newer and more expensive brands... but I took some time, researched it and I LOVE IT! I purchased the 1 1/4" Solia and I went from taking 30-40 min to flat iron my whole head to 15-20 tops! You can also use it w/ damp hair, although I do not suggest it. In case you are wondering, my current hair type is 4b and i have a relaxer. My hair goes from thick to BONE straight! Good luck buying!
