  • why can't i find johnny weir's olympics performance

  • @msmithrandir561 they dont want you to know what really happened!! (looks both ways paraniodly)

  • Not to mention Lysafey's shoulder nearly hitting the ice on his "triple axel". Not a first place performance at all. His skate was bland and his jumps were low with poor techinque.

  • One of the problems is the new scoring system which rewards complexity at the expense of artistry, good choreography, and clean programs.

For example, the arm flailing and constant turning during the step sequences that you mention in your video is a direct result of how the levels for step sequences are determined. Because of the requirements, almost all higher level (especially Level 4 ) sequences look like absolute ass.

This needs to be changed, because it is ruining figure skating.

  • I'm tired of all the strange Weir/Lysacek stories and the discussion if homophobia behind Weir's bad placement in Vancouver! Even Lysacek would be a open gay man it would change nothing, he would have made the same program and he would be on the same placement! As a open gay man Lysacek would be no different than he is now in his way to speak, skate or whatever! Not every gay man is so feminine, a queen or flamboyant! And often gay man don't like that at all and have the right to critize that!

  • @JessSari061 its not about being flamboyant its about not being afraid to be yourself no matter what anyone else thing

  • Thanks for sticking up for Johnny - It's about time someone put it as plainly and clearly as you just did

  • Scott, your commentary is awesome.

  • @PumaJ60 Thank you!

    @cookypuss - Thank you too!!!

Glad you've enjoyed the video, check out the others and let me know your thoughts!

  • Johnny Weir does a magnificent and flawless performance while the others stumbles from one jump to another. So don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining. Johnny Weir is the most famous and artistic ice skater in the world.

This kid should start his own ice show just like the Harlem Globetrotters did with basketball. I'll take my grandchildren to see that show.

  • this guy was right about Lysacek's flailing arms, so distracting.

  • I love Johnny. He is such a wonderful performer.

  • I love Johnny Weir. He should have gotten the bronze. He was so classy the way he handled the quebec reporter situation. He's a great role model.

  • Johnny himself, while not flat out saying or agreeing he was robbed or underscored at the time, said his placement was political. He said they just didn't want two skaters from the same country on the podium. (In my opinion, especially if they were American, but let's not get into THAT!) Look at all 4 disciplines, and you will see only pairs had 2 from the same country. Dance could easily have had only Canadians and 2 Americans on the podium, but they didn't.

  • Weir is HOTTTT! 5*

  • Johnny definitely deserved higher, he didn't even fall whereas those above him had similar difficulty levels and fell as well.

  • It's none of our damn business to inquire about Weir's personal life. Why are people still interested in harassing this figure skater? When Rudy Galindo revealed about his sexual orientation, nobody made a big deal out of it? When will homophobic people learn how to shut up and to leave Johnny Weir alone? They didn't behave like this when Rudy Galindo 'came out of the closet'!!!

  • Seriously Johnny is out there a lot doing this and that and just being Johnny. He does bring a lot of attention on to himself, and his own mother says he is outrageous about 90% of the time. However, I do agree with you. This doesn't mean he deserves some of the remarks he gets. I don't get why people insist on constanting bringing up this issue. When he wants to tell us he will. Right now he doesn't have a significant other male or female.

  • @waddleduckie1

Sad thing, though. If you watch the video of the press conference where he answered the comments made about him by the idotic broadcasters, he said he's 'heard worse in the bathroom'. I'm sure he has. What is wrong with people? He's great one on one, he's smart, he's talented, he's generous, he's cute, and the fans love him. Who is he hurting, really? No one!

  • @WheresMyKoppy , I agree with you. Johnny's very intelligent, and he has a wonderful sense of humor. If I personally knew him, I would describe him as very nice gentleman.

  • 6th place in the world is pretty good. I wouldn't complain.

  • Trying to make ice skating butch is kind of a lost cause. I love Weir, and yes, he was robbed. Such an artist, he's just beautiful. I was happy for Lysacek, but he kind of makes me wanna gag. Lol But hey, leave Plushenko's hair alone! He might be a sore loser, but there's nothing wrong with his looks. *wolf whistle*

  • Johnny Weir should have won. It was so sad. He was underscored and on purpose. Not fair-he was robbed. He was just beautiful and he did it all and I hope that America comes to his aid and he makes lots of money from his Sundance Show and other lucrative endorsements. I adore watching him.

  • @AudieAsquared

I love Johnny, but he shouldn't have won the Olympics. Evan isn't my favorite, but I definitely think he deserved it. Bronze medal for JW, definitely. Possibly silver. No doubt he was underscored.

  • LOL you are hilarious! I LOVE YOU! I absolutely LOVE Johnny Weir. He is so beautiful to watch and entertaining. Cheers to Johnny Weir!

  • You hit the nail on the fucking head, comrade ;)

Thank you. I love Johnny weir's skating style, I was blown from the moment I watched his Swan-persormance in Torino 2006. That was the moment I started to take notice of men's ice-skating again.

  • I think Brian Boitano responded adequately when he said that part of scoring is political. It's unfortunate, but when you are an out-spoken person in something like ice skating, you are taking a chance that it might work against you. I'm sure Johnny knows this, which makes him even more likeable because he. just. doesn't. give. a. sheet.

  • I agree, Johnny Weir got ripped off

  • huh?

  • matinhanif, the bronze medalist is not korean, he's japanese. and plus, they add up the score you got in the short program with the score of your long program. the bronze medalist, daisuke takahashi, did a FANTASTIC job in the short program. even if he fell, he still tried the quad, and that was brave of him. it's better than evan lysacek who didn't even attempt to do a quad. anyways, somelikeitscott, you don't know anything about figure skating, so stop saying shit!

  • Dude , Weir won in Technical , but they brought him down in the more subjective artistic , which is pretty silly given how much more artful his performances are.

Not sure he should have come in 3rd but he sure should have been at least 4th or 5th

  • Funny thing is, what JW really excels in IS the artistic. That's what he should have been scored higher on, and he wasn't. Like you said, silly.

  • Trust...!

  • You said a mouthful, brother! I completely agree with everything you said.

  • I toally agree with you, and I think you're very funny. I don't understand how such a gay sport as figure skating can be butched up by wearing a black costume with padded shoulders and sequined snakes around your neck. Denial is a wounderous thing.

  • Johnny should have won bronze.

  • I agree with you 100%!

I sat up to watch Johnny skate and was so pissed when I saw his score.

  • I sent NBC an angry email about showing everything but the figure skating and not showing an event from start to finish. Maybe last night was was partly b/c of me. And Johnny was most defiantly robbed. I'm not amused in the slightest. Claws are out.

  • Claws are out and painted red...Jungle Red! (The Women reference for anyone who isn't gay)

  • oh, and how did the korean guy win third place after splashing all over the ice in the beginning of his routine anyway???? just not fair..... right?

  • I am so with you - have no idea how someone who "splashes all over the ice" wins a medal.

  • Daisuke Takahashi is japanese.

  • I know, they just wanna make the sport as butch looking as possible! I thought Johnny weir was ammazing. I love his personality and i think he deserved at least a bronze!!!!!

  • do you read a script/autocue when recording?? ... if not you are very good at thinking of the top of your head.. :)

  • No script, no anything just a bunch of thoughts running around in my head like a hamster on a wheel trying desperately to get out. Sometimes I do one or two takes before I get something I feel "worthy" but this rant was one take! Thanks for watching, commenting and complimenting!
