  • @4:10 is the best part

  • its really only because of Bonzo's drumming that i like this song and Kashmir.

  • 8 dislikes? must literally be from deaf people. This is one of the greatest musical works EVER created. RIP John. Damn you were good.

  • I remember thinking of this song when we the people of NorthWest Missoui had the flood of 1983, HaHaHa.

  • @BinnytheJazzWizard ''Bonham's drums are sex for years.''

  • @BinnytheJazzWizard ''Bonham's drums are sex for years.

  • wow, light a spliff and lets rock!! been a way too long. Love these guys. I can feel the stress rolling away down my body and out the door :)

  • This song's been up since 2007 and it's only been listened just over 76,000 times? Something is wrong with YouTube.

  • It's been too long since I've listened to these guys.

2012 and Led Zeppelin is still awesome.

  • 8 people have no ears.

  • John induces Bonahs

  • forgot to add the greatest part.

  • A giant is coming!! oh wait.... it's Bonzo playing ^^

  • @adamant26otk who's bonzo?

  • @matman142 it's john bonham the drummer's nickname

  • @matman142 bonzo is john bonham (aka the beast) your listening to the best rock drummer that will ever live :) this song is fantastic

  • the album cover used to scare me

  • The memories associated to this song leave me with no words but all smiles.

  • It was reported that they recorded this song in Jimi Page's castle. They put each member in a different room which gave the song that booming quality. They talked to each other through headsets. Nobody does stuff like this anymore-sad!

  • @plasma3211 The song was recorded at Headley Grange. The drums were recorded with a stereo pair from the top of the stairs in the entrance hall. You need a very very good drummer for that to work well.

  • Number IV or number II... or number I or II, or Physical Graffiti... or House of the Holy...

...I just can't chose which one is the best!

  • @availdname i may be able to hep u w that, pink floyd is my fav band of all time but zep is a close close second, but houses of holy is the best mainly becasue of no wuarter which is the best song ever made by anyone, and its also got great songs as well

  • We were listening to this in geography

  • Best Rock and Roll backbeat EVER recorded! All you losers who sample this know that, so bow down and send the checks to Bonzo's family!

  • Man...Bonzo on this...just HUGE. I will never get sick of this.

  • Bonham is the shit....

  • No one will ever play the guitar as good as jimmy page.

  • 7 people deserve to have their ears rotted out from the inside for not receiving an instant ear jizz...

  • R.I.P. John Bonham...

  • Today is September 25th 2011, ,John Bonham of course died on September 25th (1980) and we Zeppelin fans will never forget his incredible drum works. RIP John Bonham.

  • @workmatters77 amen my brother

  • One of my mom's favorite bands. So glad I grew up on this great music. Love you Mommy! R.I.P.

  • fuckin love led zeppelin

  • This is a song made for Driver.

  • Miss you mom, if it wasn't for you, I would have never been introduced to this song. I love you. I wan't to see you soon. This is Snoopy here. I love you Momma.

  • one of my favorite songs by Led Zeppelin not that justin bieber crap

  • @226meowmix omg i love bieber too!

  • @IBedtimeCookies dumbfuck.

  • @rocknroll501 really its sarcasm. get a life you fuckin troll

  • Sucker Punch trailer <3

  • Plant made this more than just Chicago blues through Marshall amps (you know: the "n" music your parents wouldn't have allowed you to listen to at the time). Subtract Bob's contribution & what's left? Three astonishingly overrated guys--none of whom ever did ANYTHING worthwhile ever agan. Jeff Beck continued 2 expand the vocabulary of electric guitar--Page just got fatter. Bonham could never have kept up w fusion drummers (i.e., Cobham, Colaiuta, etc); & Jones? NOT a giant--in the extreme!

  • @dantean you are a moron. I saw them live and they could play big time. Bonham and Jones laid down a beat you had to see to believe, and if you think Jimmy Page cannot play you are a total fool. Plant was a great rock singer. These guys may have ripped off American Blues big time, but you are an idiot if you think these guys could not play.

  • Damn, these Brits had American Blues down cold!

  • macho mike

  • This song turned me a'round to Zepp

  • i heard this on the movie trailer of sucker punch

  • Bonham's drums are sex for my ears.

  • @BinnytheJazzWizard ....been saying that for years: led zepplin is aural sex.

  • It's retarded that most ppl in these comments just go off and read wikipedia, and then post the shit here, trying to sound smart. STFU.

  • my dad played this on the radio when the centralia flood of 97 happened.

  • Anyone ever think back to Hurricane Katrina when they hear this?

  • actually they didnt completely cover the song by "memphis minnie". While the song does borrow some lines from that song, those lines are rearranged and combined with new lyrical verses and the music is entirely different. The song contains the definitive drum sample of John Bonham.

  • yea fuck coldplay! lez for life!

  • Comment removed

  • John Bonham's thunderous drumming makes this song. No wonder the Beastie Boys, Enigma and bunch of other artists have sampled it.

  • I love this...so much

  • Zep has always acknowledged their respect and love of the bluesmen of the Deep South -- they have the utmost respect for the men and women who started rock n roll.

  • coldplay rhymes with gay

  • This song was originally performed by Mississippi Blues pioneer Memphis Minnie.

  • But Taking credit for stealing tunes ain't cool !!

  • HAHAHAHA-and Zepplin got sued by

Willie Dixon for ripping off his tunes among others !!

  • someone else might have wrote it, but no one else was supposed to sing it, play it, make it......a hidden treasure amongst a plethora of zep hits.

  • hell yeah love this song

  • yeah fuck coldplay

  • holly shit i love this song, just cant beat bonzo!!

  • what the fuck does coldplay have anything to do with this? i dont listen to much of what theyre callin music these days so im in the dark on that one. did they try to cover it or steal it?

  • @sgtpepperkocik they used this song's drumline in their song "in my place"

  • this is music.

  • oh somebody just said that

  • they recorded this in a house because they were rich and could afford a mobile recording unit

  • its amazing that this was recorded in just a house rather than a studio

  • VINTAGE LED ZEPPELIN

  • ya kno wut fuck all yall who get on here and bash other bands. just enjoy the music dumbfucks. have a nice day.

  • As much as I hate to admit I'm wrong, buttsack123 is right. According to wikipedia this song was written by Kansas Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie in 1929, and was written about the great Mississippi flood of 1927. In fact, many of Led Zeppelin's greatest hit's are covers of old blues songs, including (but not limited to): Whole lotta love, Babe I'm gonna leave you, Dazed and Confused, I can't quit you baby, You shook me, and a lot more that I don't have room to type.

  • @SerpentsNightmare lol wikipedia fag

  • @jerkyace25 Actually it comes from a number of different sources. And nowhere in my comment does it imply that I'm a fag, which I'm not. Do your research before you comment, douchebag.

  • @SerpentsNightmare actually i dont care of sources. And nowhere in my comment does it imply that im a "Douchebag", which im tottaly not. Do yourself a favor and kill yourself before you comment again, ------.

  • @jerkyace25 The fact that you called me a fag based on absolutely nothing and told me to kill myself is reason enough for me to believe you're a douchebag, which you totally are. And how would possibly be "doing myslef a favor?" You sick fuck.

  • @jerkyace25 And if you dont care for sources then why did you call me a "wikipedia fag?" Are you trying to tell me that not only are you an immature douchebag but you're stupid too?

  • @cheapcape most definitely NOT!!!

  • @cheapcape And they goy sued by Led Zep lololol.

  • KILLER drums and harmonica !!!!!

  • You all are missing the actual point of the song, regardless of who wrote it, who it might sound like and whatever particular pestulance ensued. It's about heartache... plain and simple. I will sit on my levee and moan for those of you who don't get it. By the way, who gives a sh&* about how many people had a place to stay or didn't care, or don't get it, or didn't like the song. You need to put the calculator away and get a life... geez and yawn, we really wish you would get over yourself!

  • fuck coldplay for real..

  • 2 deaf people are wondering what all the fuss is about.

  • How the fuck can this song get 2 dislikes?

  • @Brad420Folks maybe someone who lives or ( or usetoo live) somewhere were the levee broke? :(

  • This song owns your face. too bad not too many people know about it, all stuck on stairway, and for good reason too. but this song is just awesome.

  • One of the many times I saw Fuel live, they played this. One of my favorite covers ever. Obviously there's nothing like The Zep haha, but damn Brett Scallions does things to me with his voice. Fuel has always been so stellar and underrated. Awesome band.

  • Memphis Minnie McCoy (born Lizzie Douglas), was a Blues artist who recorded this in 1929.

  • This is a re-make from an old delta blues song wriiten by a women, can't recall her name but I will google and fine it.

  • If this song sounds like Coldplay to some listeners, I say your ears are correct and your sense of your own heritage is for shit. Such is the plight of Americans...

  • I dont get it. What connection does this have to Coldplay?

  • Best Zeppelin song, in my opinion. :)

  • @PSNDeathProofX42 hell there is no "best zeppelin song" lol they're all too good

  • I thinking of Rhymin and Stealin. Beastie Boys sampled the drum beat in the song.

  • This has to be the Best Song ever to play when You have had one of those day's where you should have just stayed in bed . I just play it Loud an blasting . It makes it all better. Thanks Led Zeppeline.

  • I think everybodys heart has felt like this before right, or is just me

  • Jimmy looks sooooooooo cute in that picture man wish i could date him

  • Why was this song not used during news reports of Hurricane Katrina? This fits the entire desperation of that time.

  • 2 people have no place to stay.

  • I like living in a world where both Led Zeppelin and Coldplay exist. Is that so wrong? Lighten up, people.

  • 2 justin beiber fans dislike this song

  • what a cool drum intro

  • lolz someone thinks this sounds like coldplay? ha. haha. hahahahaha NO.

  • i'm proud of the fact that i didnt even know coldplay did this song

  • @mopartrevor426 ditto bahahaha

  • @mopartrevor426 lol me either, I had only heard of the APC version as far as covers go. The fuck makes coldplay think they can touch this? -.-

  • @mopartrevor426

    Who?

  • @mopartrevor426 You're proud of the fact you were unaware a band covered this song? Stop trying to be cool/get thumbs ups, get out of your grandmother's basement and get a life.

  • anyone mind shutting up about coldplay? i came here to listen to music, not to argue about those two

  • Led Zeppelin "borrowed" many a song from the blues. It is a moot point to even say they didn't write this. You could say it about many of their songs and even quite a few blues songs. They all get passed along. It is part of the appeal

  • a coldplay fan hit the dislike button. typical coldplay shitbag

  • @BERNZIE41 just one out of the blue.. nadda.. zip.. zero math! :D

  • These guys must have sold their souls at the crossroads. This music is godlike.

  • @FREE6678 They did.

  • Comment removed

  • This helps get me through my depression spells..." Going down, going down, going down now"

  • to the person that gave the thumbs down, id like to kick you in the balls

or the region if your female

  • This is song is pure sex.

  • Led Zeppelin wrote this song before Coldplay was around

  • @dbrock949

Zep wrote this song before those guys were born, I'm pretty sure.

  • @menceyzaq Zep did no write this song. Check out the original by Memphis Minnie. I would say Zeppelin's version is a lot better though.

  • @dbrock949 Yeah, but not even Led Zeppelin can take all the credit for this. The original was written by Kansas Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie in 1929.

  • @dbrock949 zep didn't write this

  • @dbrock949 Kansas Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie wrote this song in 1929

  • @theaustinator95 thats an awesome history note man. Thank you for that info. It does sound like an Memphis blues song. Talking about what did happen when Katrina came many many years before ?/?. Crazy.. Love Memphis Blues. Great Album. after this song I think im already on the other side, drinking the cold ones and listening to Zeppelin.

  • @dbrock949 Kansas Joe McCoy had it before either of them

  • @dbrock949 @dbrock949 i don't think led zeppelin wrote this, Kansas Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie did in 1927.

  • @dbrock949 actully they covered this song it was really done by "Memphis Minnie" under the same title..a lil fyi for ya

  • One of my favorite songs off this album- When the Levee Breaks!!! Plus, they're still writing and rocking to this day!! Amazing work :D

  • ya but fuck coldplay

  • @lFHFReloaded2arby no but seriously fuck you

  • yeee you re right the opening of the song is like coldplay in y place! it's flashing!

    bye!

  • same drum opening as coldplay - In My Place

  • @volunteer31

    fail,

coldplay has 2 bass drum beats together called Half notes,

this has only single drum beats.

    this songs sick anyway.

  • amazing song

  • Nice montage Carl!!! Hope you are enjoying your time off from school. I'll see you soon!

    Love,

    Aunt Toni
