I believe Phyllis N. was a panelist on What's My Line after Dorothy Kilgallen died very mysteriuosly. She was more out going than Dorothy and funny but not quite as perceptive of who the guests would be. Fun era!
Don't know if this already mentioned.. But Haley Mills and Roddy McDowall were making That Darn Cat for Walt Disney in 1965. She was the Princess of the Disney Studios at that time. She was a huge Teen Star..
@soapbxprod Right--The studios took it for granted that audiences could be knowing & get much of the humor/sophistication--which they did. I don't go to cinema. CGI: the alternative to a good script! That is why so many get classic movies (C.Grant, etc) & watch them maybe w a martini, glass of wine or club soda w smoked mussels, Triskets & smoked gouda. Much more pleasant than greasy popcorn, yelling kids & cell phones going off--who in their RIGHT MIND would go for the latter?
@windstorm1000 EXACTLY! With TCM on HD now, and a 35 inch screen, who needs those horrible box theaters? The movie palaces are all gone but for a few... In France, the experience is much more like it used to be here...
@happels And he had just completed making a picture with Tuesday Weld called "Lord Love a Duck" the previous year--that may explain that ravishing young ladie's presence at some parties. That Darn Cat--FUN--and is successful no doubt, in part, to Mr. McDowall's wickedly funny performance as the jilted suitor. Roddy was beginning to patent some of Clifton Webb's mannerisms, very funnily.
@windstorm1000 You KNOW your movies! Tuesday Weld was a regular guest at Roddy's house- bet she had a beach house right next to his! George Axelrod wrote Lord Love a Duck! Such a pleasure to discuss 60s cinema with you.

@1202bearhunter Please contact us if you would care to do so! We are professional documentary filmmakers, and would be honored for you to participate in the making of a feature from the footage!
@purplelizzy53 Us as well! We are native New Yorkers- Carole lived on Greene between Canal and Grand at the time, I lived on Sullivan between Prince and Spring. We were both at our homes in NH the morning of the 11th- I saw the second plane hit live on the Today show. We didn't return to NYC for almost a month- afraid of the toxins... we both were very, very lucky... Lizbeth Scott's interview will be uploaded in the next 24 to 48 hours- chin up, sweetie! :)!
@fakeplasticjohn We truly appreciate your doing so! Her son, Adam Green, also the son of Adolph Green, was best friends with my oldest friend on earth, Richard Roth- grandson Of Emery Roth, who designed the WTC and the PanAm Building, as well as every office building on Water Street in NYC, and most of Park Avenue!
was just going to ask about Lizabeth Scott again, is her interview footage part of the documentary or separate- as I said I'd love to see it- the only thing of hers I've been able to find recently was a clip on youtube from a Hal Wallis tribute. Find Scott interesting because I've become sorta familiar with her story over the years- i know her from 'Desert Fury' and 'Martha Ivers', and the Elvis movie 'Loving You'
Roddy obviously entertained many British actors at his place. It was great to see Hayley Mills in this clip. She had just come to a Disney BS session for 'Family Way'. She didn't like Hollywood, as it turned out.
@songplugger We have an entire never seen interview with her, shot at my adopted auntie Janet Leigh's house in 1996! we will be uploading selected scenes soon! Just watched "The Strange Love of Martha Ivers" last night on TCM!
wow- just like Tuesday Weld it seems rare to get footage of Lizabeth Scott (1:07) especially after she stopped making films.. I always imagined her as a recluse- but I guess not. Lee Remick looking lovely again- love the clips you have of the stars with frolicking and having fun with their kids, it really feels a privilege to be seeing those kinds of moments. At 1:49 I wanna cry at the beauty!
Just spent all day watching your amazing videos. Wow! And the Lizabeth interviews. Endlessly fascinating. Thank you so much for sharing.

Gotta say I enjoy the footage of Tony Franciosa too- just like Ben Gazzara he's another sadly somewhat underrated actor, I think.
