i sobbed so hard at this museum. its the only museum ive been too where you people breaking down in tears is very common. its horrific, and gut wrenching, but extremely important and powerful. but you have to be prepared for the enormity of it.

ive been there on a field trip and some of the things you see in there are completely disturbing, they have these little moddels of auschwitz out of clay or plastic i believe, but its of the bunks the prisoners would sleep in, and there was one of a gas chamber, and the doors outside it where the bodies were deposited, ans it was very disturbing

Britain played a huge role in the extermination of native peoples everywhere. I went there the other day with my class. It was so sad, on the second floor you go through, there is a box car and I totaly lost it there everyone on the floor could hear me crying I'd bet. I started crying on my friend's shoulder. Some people were so rude, going through and laughing, wtf? It was a great museum and I learned so much but it was so so sad.

You go through a huge exhibit, which is the most moving thing i have ever seen, and come out at the hall of remembrance... DON'T light a candle unless you know of someone personally who was involved. YOU WILL be tempted, but don't do it.... other than that... words cannot describe the feeling... the only place worse, or better, depending on how you look at it, is Auschwitz...

i sobbed so hard at this museum. its the only museum ive been too where you people breaking down in tears is very common. its horrific, and gut wrenching, but extremely important and powerful. but you have to be prepared for the enormity of it.

I like the museum but you left out whole groups of people. The Holocaust had over 6 million people who were not Jewish who died during the Holocaust. And to deny them is just wrong.

@Jiggolicous Now go to the Manzanar memorial and look at the bunks the Japanese slept on and the trains that took them to the camps. And look at what the Japanese-Americans used for latrines. At Auschwitz, the latrines were private enough for people to dig diamonds out of their feces without being seen and the water was clean enough to wash off the diamonds and swallow them again and again and again until liberation.

ive been there on a field trip and some of the things you see in there are completely disturbing, they have these little moddels of auschwitz out of clay or plastic i believe, but its of the bunks the prisoners would sleep in, and there was one of a gas chamber, and the doors outside it where the bodies were deposited, ans it was very disturbing

dont make a statement until you know the facts, I have been to many a memorial detailing our own mistakes...go see "crazy horse" memorial, Battle of Little Big Horn Battlefield/ any of the hundred (maybe thousands) of other indian memorials...they all detail our mistakes. Museums for WWII Internment camps also exist, highlighting our mistakes against the Japanese Americans..We own up to our sins....you may also want to look into the reparations these groups got.!

Britain played a huge role in the extermination of native peoples everywhere. I'd hold up Britain's Opium Wars and subsequent capture of Hong Kong as a good example of imperial violence and hypocrisy. As Orwell said "The nationalist not only does not disapprove of atrocities committed by his own side, but he has a remarkable capacity for not even hearing about them."

Why is there even an argument about this. Killing Millions of people is BAD! It happened...it is real and it is once again BAD! We built a museum to comemorate those who were rounded up like cattle and were murdered, which is BAD! The uprisings that were spoke of in prior comments were also BUT, but it is a little difficult to make a museum called The Museum for People who Fought Hitler and Died Trying...it would have to be a very long building.

Today -16.06.09- is 69 anniversary of FIRST deportation to the biggest German death camp KL Auschwitz.
16.06.1940 - first time were deported to KL Auschwitz first prisoners- POLISH prisoners from Tarnów: intelligence, fighters of resistance, soldiers, students. Kl Auschwitz was made at the beginning for POLISH prisoners - about 150 000 Poles were closed there, about 75 000 were killed . -Jewish Uprising in ghetto in 1943 with 1000 Jews fighting
-Polish Uprising in 1944 with 20 000 Polish fighters and 200 000 Polish death civilians

I went there the other day with my class. It was so sad, on the second floor you go through, there is a box car and I totaly lost it there everyone on the floor could hear me crying I'd bet. I started crying on my friend's shoulder. Some people were so rude, going through and laughing, wtf? It was a great museum and I learned so much but it was so so sad.

You get in line before an elevator, and you get a card of a person, that has their story. You go through a huge exhibit, which is the most moving thing i have ever seen, and come out at the hall of remembrance... DON'T light a candle unless you know of someone personally who was involved. YOU WILL be tempted, but don't do it.... other than that... words cannot describe the feeling... the only place worse, or better, depending on how you look at it, is Auschwitz...

I went to this museum. Went in melonchaly, camee out crying. Few weeks later someone asked me the difference between a jew and a pizza. They replied that a pizza doesn't scearm when you put in in a oven.
