holyshit the felynes are awesome addition to MH, unfortunately they pretty much SUCK unless you get there lvl to around 150 or so, and even THEN they still suck unless you teach them right skills to suit your battle style. cute and adorable? yes. faithfully loyal? absolutely. completely useless cannon fodders? DEFINATELY. can't count the times my furry sidekick chucked a large barrel bomb at a ratholos i'm sneaking by. the only useful thing they seem to be good at is digging their own graves

If you want felyne comrades, talk to the lady outside your house{lady on the right}. She is carrying a giant bag,you could find her next to the pokefarm entrance. If you cant find her shame on you. Before you could get a comrade you have to finish training quests and 1 star village elder quests. After you buy a comrade of your choice go to the back of your house {kitchen}. You should see a board on the right when you enter. when you go to the board press hire/dismiss comreade, press hire.

I have a question. Does attacking your Felyne partner reduce its Fondness? I just bought the game and I notice my partner occassionally sleeps on me while in battle that's why I intentionally hurt it. Any tips on how to solve that? Thanks

@HalinaTayo probably ... im not sure but if im correct the reason he sleeps in a battle is too raise his fondness... he wont raise it if u wake him up... and if u hit him im pretty sure that will reduce it somehow

@HalinaTayo I don't think so. I usually use a light bowgun and my cat is ALWAYS running in front of me in the middle of a rapid fire and getting shot to pieces. But he's currently max fondness and it doesn't seem to be dropping at all. :P

The higher their fondness becomes, the less they will "sleep on the job" too.

You have to let your cat learn Affinity attack,attk up and some other things and your cat will level up its fondness and lvl.The higher the fondness and lvl the better it is.Mine is level 19 with Full fondness :D

your felyne should be lvl 10 or higher

there should be a skill called 'trap master'

and it needs 160 felyne points =)
