Absolutely no-one better suited to this role. Huge fan of Sarah Brightman and watched Repo because of that. The film was incredible and so was every character (including Paris to my surprise). She is such an amazingly talented sincere and cute woman.

Her performances were definitely one of the highlights of an already excellent film. Her character is creative yet tragic and takes (I think) full advantage of her vocal talents...she sounds just as incredible speaking as she does singing.

And she looks better at 50 than most people do at half that age.

technically, this movie was the middle act of a thgree act stage production, the firs act centers around when shilo is born and the pretaining years leading up to then, and the third act shilo eventually becomes the owner of geneco. There you go nobody can fight about prequels and sequels now. :)

I bought this movie the day it came out (the closest theatre to me playing the moving was 3hrs away in LA) and I still watch this movie at least twice a month, and don't get me started on the soundtrack!

See though, they did get something alot better then money from fans, and alot of theatres. They got dedicated fans who would travel worldwide to see this film, and dress up. They did make alot of money back though because Everone who seen the film once, at least went back to a theatre to see it 2-3 more times - and this movie is still playing in select theatres, so i would imagine they got a good amount of pocket change.

More than the original Christine Daae. She was married to Webber at the time. She was his muse. He created the role specifically for her, composed all of the music with her in mind, and designed the entire production for her. The Phantom of the Opera that we all know and cherish SIMPLY WOULD NOT EXIST if Sarah Brightman had not inspired Andrew Lloyd Webber. :) Requiem was inspired and designed specifically for her, too.
