The new stadium sucks; there was absolutely no need for it.

The only reason it was built was that there could be a bunch of skyboxes so that rich guys could have drug fueled hooker orgies and they can write it off on their taxes as "entertainment."

Waldman is a fine broadcaster; the problem is she has to "bounce off" Jon Sterling and he REALLY does suck.

Waldman was much, much better when she was bouncing off Emmy Award-winner Charley Steiner who, unfortunately for us in NY, went to the Dodgers.

Steiner is a gazillion times better than Sterling and that reflected upon Waldman.

@jdun1 what? the new stadium looks nothing like the old one: 1. the white facade ran along the outfield wall, but in the new one it runs along the grandstand. 2. the old stadium had a section of blacked out seats as the batters eye, the new one uses the mohegan sun sports bar. 3. the scoreboard was in right center field, now its in dead center. 4. there are alot more suites in the new stadium.

@AnE000002 i don't need to do any research, i've been to both stadiums many times. yes there are changes but the general layout is almost the same. i'm talking about when you are in the seats, obviously when you are in the concession area, it's completely different. but sitting in a seat you still feel like you are in Yankee Stadium and i'm sure the architects did that on purpose.

My point is that this year's Yankee team is severely under-performing considering the off-season acquisitions, the fans' expectations for a return to glory and an unrivaled payroll. And if you knew anything but said players you'd know they perform much better in the second half of the season after the all star break. This happens every year with the Yankees where they're "done" and they're able to go back and win the division. I understand your point, however, I feel that the Yankees have a different standard than other teams. When Suzyn said she felt good about the Yankees, I interpreted that as meaning they'd be in sole possession of first place, with a dominant pitching staff, bull pen and line up. However, weak spots have emerged in all of those things. If it were any other team, the Yankees current position would be good, but it's the Yankees. Their high pay roll comes with higher standards. We'll see.
