Ever since all gyms here in curitiba have ranking, represented buy colored arm bands, the highest rank being black. The other fighters name is Rodrigo Malheiros de Andrade.

I know many MMA fans around the world have seen this video and some wonder if it really is Shogun.
As a Brazilian I can confirme some facts from this video:
The names "Chuteboxe" and "Maurício" are repeatedly shouted by the crowd. The supporters of Chuteboxe cheer for the other guy (no name mentioned).
By the end of the bout the referee announces that Chuteboxe won by knockout in the third round.
So it seems Shogun began practicing Muay Thai in another gym and later on changed to Chuteboxe.

The English people in America brag about how great America is, yet they are the ones who forgot their ancestral roots when they settled in the continent. Similarly for English people who call themselves Canadian yet they are British. I came to Canada when I was 7, but I do not consider myself Canadian even though I am a citizen...my children will learn my native language and my tradition will be from my native homeland...never will I ever say I am Canadian because its an imaginary ethnicity.

The only reason the US has anything better than European countries is because the US is composed of countless ethnic backgrounds...most if not all of their athletes are from countless countries around the Globe so it is easy for "Americans" to just say "American" yet these people are not American because there is no such ethnicity called American unless you are a native American, which 99% of the population is not...this also includes all of the US' Academia which come from Europe and Asia.
