Ugh.. I had to do that with my dog 3 times a day for a week when she had kennel cough.. it's the worse. When you take out the needle, blood and fluids poor out. You have to pinch the skin and keep it close for about 30 seconds.

:x I have two pit bull mix breeds at home. We saved both of them from abusive situations, and both of them are total sweethearts. One of them (the older) is sadly dying, but she is the sweetest dog I have ever met. I wish people didn't misunderstand animals the way that they do.
