While he was DUI, I don't know if that contributed to the accident. The man was not crossing in a crosswalk and when Stallworth hit him he immediately stopped, called 911 and told the police he had hit him. While I'm strongly against drunk driving and think the penalties should be more strict, it may not have played much of a role in this case. It may have been the pedestrian's fault, which happened to a sober driver in my town yesterday. He got a lot more than 30 days, read the article.
