Such a shame the famicom's extra sound channels were axed for the NES. otherwise we'd have the excellent version of this song from Akumajou Densetsu.

AFAII, the Famicom doesn't have extra sound channels over the NES.

Some Japanese Famicom games have though. Same goes for the Famicom Disk System.

Actually that isn't something that was part of the Famicom. It was a part of Konami's chip that they used ont he cart for that. They also used it in some MSX games. Nemesis 2 for instance (there it was called SCC). Great little sound chip :).
