I pray for the unity of the east and west, for all Catholics to unite, and for a holding of an 8th ecumentical council to ward of the taint of modernism that is taking grip in both east and west.
the problem with the orthodox churches is nationilism now this does not belong in true christanity at all we are called out of the world how can a christian call themselves greek, russian, or syrian when such a thing is of the world? true christanity is not practiced and this is the problem with modern day christanity.
I'm Romanian and I'm Orthodox and I'm verry glad to see other Orthodox Christians in the world because manny people when they say the word "Christianity" they think at Catholics. And because Romania is an Orthodox country, the freemasons are makeing us a verry hard life here.But...ORTHODOXY WILL NEVER DIE!God Bless you all!
@allsaintsmonastery God is love, love creates and is immortal and eteranl. Through love we where created, through love we where given salavtion and only through true love (by following the 10 commandments and doing God's word) and through God's grace and mercy we will live etranlily in The Kingdom of the Lord.

You're a liar, I went to a Greek Orthodox Church and was told by the parish priest it would be better just to go to Antiochian. When I moved I went to Antiochian I asked to sit with the priest before attending services I was told "We have all our services in Arabic, you wouldnt understand, you should probably go somewhere else" I said that I would be happy to hear the service in Arabic, I was told "You should go to the Greek parish"
So dont speak for people and situations you know nothing about
U are not an orthodox,u deny the existence of toll houses and u disgraced Saint Seraphim Rose. You are for ecumnesim, new world order traitor,God have mercy on ur soul!
The toll houses are widely debated, I stayed at a monastery for 6 months and this was a heated topic even there and the Elder was straight from Mt Athos and Old Calendar...you are as nasty and condemning as any common protestant, good luck on the toll house journey, that comment right there would have you ripped down according to its teachings. Once again proving the Holy Spirit is not guiding. You speak against a bride of Christ, in front of unbelievers, you're to take your matter to the elders.
It is true that in no part of the Orthodox Church is the toll house teaching simply universally accepted. Many priests in Russia argue that it is a form of the Latin teaching of purgatory. With God's help, we are going to discuss it more later. One reason that so many debate against the teaching is that the Protestant style "proof texts" that people use for the teaching do not agree with each other on the nature and purpose of the T-Hs. There are considerable variations in them.
I would estimate from this and your previous postings that you really do need psychiatric help. Perhaps you should talk first with your family doctor and see if he can refer you to a good psychiatrist.
He's not ignorant, you misunderstood the question: "I am afraid that these communities are so tightly bound culturally, that it would be difficult to enter the fellowship." Let's be honest, Orthodox churches are very much connected to their originating countries, since they were divided by territories (thus such names). That was what he was saying.
And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (Matt 16:18)
Very good video. I wish we had the cultural tradition of Orthodoxy in the U.S. I am a little hesitant to convert because I am not Greek, Russian, Romanian, etc. I am afraid that these communities are so tightly bound culturally, that it would be difficult to enter the fellowship.
Have you checked out any OCA or Antiochian parishes? They are very convert friendly and generally not bound to particular ethnic groups. Many ethnic groups are represented in our OCA parish and it is, for the most part, a non-issue.
All I can say is woe to those parishes that turn seekers away.
Your ethic has nothing to with it friend. You will be accepted regardless. Are orthodox faith is spread throughout the middle east, north Africa and Asia. But please do not feel any pressure to covert. We would only want you to become orthodox if you soul truly wishes. May god bless your family and you friend.
I was bought up in an anglican family, but we had close ties to the serbian orthodox church at my home town. I was neither orthodox nor serbian, yet received amazing hospitality. Orthodox people are both devout and joyous, deeply traditional yet very open and welcoming.
you are more than welcome. it is simply up to you to decide where you feel welcome. you should find one where you know you will go there just for God and no one else. The church is the Lord's house, and that means if you knock, the door will open.
Orthodox for LIFE!
