Great video. The only reason 'exceedingly fair' is mentioned is because the vampires in Twilight are very pale. We don't discriminate in the LDS church. My brother is on a mission in Africa & all the members there are black. There are black members in my congregation & when I lived in Charlotte there were black members there. Skin color isn't important. The priesthood was delayed because of racism in this country. Can you imagine the persecution there would've been if it had been given sooner?

The original commandment says "hot drinks" which the general authorities interpreted to be coffee and tea. But some others have said this includes caffeine like in coke. So you get all sorts of mixed messages, some people won't even drink Coke. My parents didn't when we were growing up.

Like you, they could be converts or like my brother, having been born into the religion, decided he wanted to go on his mission. He was 24 when he left. Even if you were raised up in the LDS religion, i don't think it makes you look bad for going on a mission later than 19. I'm sure there are a lot of others who agree with me, if not all.

@theekandi The missionaries just want to share the gospel and they're doing it for free. They go on mission for 2 years and make lots of sacrifices like walking around town to spread the word of God. If you don't want them to teach you, then tell them you don't want them to teach you. Simple as that. But you'll miss the opportunity to realize something that may change your life for good.

My original post/joke was playing on the common judgment made by mormons and definitely not used literally as it is by many of them. I'm an ex-mormon.

I think they did mean it as a joke i cant tell you how many times we were called nerds or white kids while i was on my mission. a large majorty of mormon boys are white which means fair also.

@theekandi The missionaries just want to share the gospel and they're doing it for free. They go on mission for 2 years and make lots of sacrifices like walking around town to spread the word of God. If you don't want them to teach you, then tell them you don't want them to teach you. Simple as that. But you'll miss the opportunity to realize something that may change your life for good.

@Cheshu1 Im using the King James version&in Genesis4:15 "and the Lord set a mark upon Cain lest any finding him should kill him." What other mark is as distinguishable as dark skin?But that doesnt mean that there arent very righteous&amazing black people.Had black people been given the "mormon priesthood" any earlier than they wouldve been pursecuted and ridiculed 'cause with the priesthood u can do miracles.If u think about it they were just protecting them Most mormon black people understand.
