  • My cashbox have small holes for the wires to charge the lipo in the box!

  • Cashbox wins!

  • I want to see what happens if you store all your lipos in a cash box and a fire starts. That'll be a real test.

  • I want to see what happens if you store all your lipos in a cash box and a fire starts.

  • It was not a regular lipo, it was a VAMPIRE LIPOOOO sux mr van helsing screwdriva litle evil power sucker XDDD

she even tried to come back but finally got in flames lik any other vampire scum. XDDDD

  • I like how bravely you hammered that lipo! It's like killing a vampire hahaha! And you're very fast! It's an interesting way of exploding a lipo than overcharging it and wait for it to explode, this one just get directly to the point :)

  • kato ka!

  • yeah... that can't be good for you..

  • yeah i was consitering a lipo in my gun but nevermind now!

  • This video say: "use with care!". Tx dvnts.

  • i like he wants his hand to get blown OFF!

  • not too smuckin fart mate.

  • @CaptDagwood ROFLMAO XD that made me laugh like crazy :)

  • 6 dumb asses disliked the video

  • AWESOME! I've been wondering how well a metal toolbox would contain a Lipo Fire. The gaps in the metal seemed to be perfect for venting but still managed to contain the flames. I'm guessing the flames were not so large inside w/ a lack of much oxygen.

  • dude, you're fast! lol!

  • lol nice video, guru's fire

  • Red color metal took box should work as good as the video.!?

  • Your moneys on fire!!!

  • ballzy man lol

  • here in the states there is a company named sentry that makes fire safes their smallest is like 20 dollars and perfect for lipo storage (if you get a waterproof model you have to remove the seal)

  • By the look of this video I'm surprised you're at all concerned with safety.

  • Well this answerers my question of if you can use metal cases (as long as they aren't air tight cause then you have a pressure bomb).

But damn... People are fracking BALLSY when they put their hands 6 inches from a pack they are going to puncture with a metal screwdriver.

I say this cause at best. your FACE can only be ~2 ft away.

And how can one predict the cells explosion vector? Seriously crazy.

Thank you for putting yourself in danger so i don't have to mate.

    Cheers

  • *like*, because it shows that a cash box seems to be a suitable for lipo storage.

  • that was pretty epic

  • Something is wrong with you... lol

  • Nice. Pop that in the fireplace, shut the door, and you won't even have to worry about the noxious fumes!

I think I'll stick with nitro though. Whole lot safer.

  • lol. Not even wearing gloves.

  • that smoke hurts my lungs =D

  • i recommend putting them in a .50 caliber ammo tin

  • @dansl70 isnt nitrogen an inert gas

  • @dansl70 UMMMMM nitrogen is inert (it doesn't burn) its probably burning hydrogen

  • @widar28

(I was refering to the Terminator 3 energy cell scene)

  • If you want a REAL FUNNY PRANK. Get a vacuum chamber, put the Lipo battery in there, ignite/release the Lipo battery, then after about 2 minutes get a buddy to release the vacuum while he's near it for a surprise!

Next prank involves not helping paying for his face burns! Fun!

  • Hey next time ya got some LiPo's you want to destroy like this just send them my way and Ill give them a new home. I dont have the apparent disposable income that you have

  • dude youre fuckin crazy. oh look at this last cell it didnt pop. im gonna stab it with a screw driver.

  • lipo-suction..?

  • This is actually seem like a relative safe way to store lipo's. Would be complete if you would outfit the box with a heat/smokedetector and a very big speaker to warn everyone to get outside and call the firedepartment to ventilate your house.

  • lock for what?

  • Part of me that loves hobbies died when you pierced that lipo with a screwdriver..

  • haha, you crazy son of a gun! But I gotta give you credit, you poked it then closed that lid in RECORD time!!!! holy crap!!

  • at school we had this rc club and a mate brung in his lipo

there was a fult with the charger and the battery exploded

burnt half the classroom (stuff on walls etc) scary but fun

  • Do you close the lid while charging? A safe and cheaper option though :)

  • LOL, oh my God, oh my God. Please don't do this again, for your own safety's sake. Dude your face was fully exposed as well as your hands. Lol come on man!

  • why would i puncture a lipo?lol

  • that is why it says on the box " do not puncture cells". As long as you're careful with them they are a great power source for your rc truck or aircraft.

  • I keep my Lipo batteries in a cash box too. Judging by the vid, it looks like it fares very well.

  • dumb ass

i hoped you got burned for ding this shit.

  • this is about as dumbass as it gets.

Betcha he'd try to destroy a bowling ball with a rubber mallet just to prove a point

  • Wonder what he would do with a gallon of gas and a match? No, that's obvious.

Let's see him go at a bowling ball with a rubber mallet. Betcha he'd break that too.

This is about as dumbass a demo as I could imagine.

    And its titled "LiPo safety"?

  • @RRGary Firstly, the battery was most likely cooked to begin with. Lipo batteries are fairly fragile - you can't let the voltage drop too far otherwise the battery will swell and become useless. Secondly, he is giving proper advice for where to store such a battery. Most people just leave them lying around... Little do they know that these batteries are capable of self-combusting without prior intervention.

  • smokin smokin LIPO

  • @dansl70 im not saying that lipos cant catch fire and be dangerous. im saying that any battery can do the same under the wrong situation.

  • New extreme sport :)

  • vids like this can give lipos a bad name. puncture ANY battery and it wont be pretty. the rules with lipos apply to most any battery, dont puncture-overcharge-overheat. the only extra aspect of lipos is that the cells have to be balanced. but any decent charger can do that as it charges the lipo. i have used lipo for 3 years now, without a single lipo going bad.

  • wow but they say after getting a puffy lipo (swolen) you need do stab them and lay them in salt water but wil it stil do this ?

  • @nvtuning Thats a good question, Ive heard that you can puncture old lipos and put them in saltwater also..but will it not burst into flames?? like in this video? does anyone know?

  • @MIRCWOOD First empty it as lot as you can, but do not exagerate (when you see it begining to inflate, or inflate more than its already, stop) and puncture where its body is already covered in water. The leads, let them out of water until its punctured, or you'll provoke a short.

  • anything will explode if you use it incorrectley numbnuts

  • wow i was thinking of getting a lipo for my slash 4x4 but now i am rethinking that idea. i might have to just get an 8 cell nimh but i have had of those explode also... does liFe batteries explode?

  • Just for that the battery burns ! thats dangerous !

  • and i just bought 3 soft packs =|

  • you want to make suicide man ? :DD:D:D AWESOME

  • lol, you just owned that lipo. awesome

  • What would be better one of these or a lipo sack safe bag for storage and charging???

  • Buy a cashbock is a bit safer ;)

  • Balls: this guy has them, you don't.

  • DAMN dude, you got 3 balls or what?

could have just run some wires in and overcharged it, haha, nice vid!

  • haha excellent & funny!

  • haha, this is funny and nuts, but also informative and helpful.

does the accent give you an extra set of balls?

  • LOL lets see what happens when we poke it with a skrew driver

  • You sir are a mad bastard. Have you not seen how some of them EXPLODE?

    *shakes head*

  • It's the holy hand grenade.

    Pullest the pin! One...two...five!

    (Three, sir!)

    Three!

  • @ShorelineThomas Lmfao! Love that movie!

  • damn what u did was danegrous bro LOL!!

  • Holy shit that was a scientific way of testing your cashbox!

I about pissed my pants when you popped that last cell!

  • LOL ur funy

" oh one more un exploded cell i might as well pop it"

cool testing is it posible to test it in those heavy clay flower pots with a pavement brick covering it ?

  • do you have too much money or what ???

  • I can it too. just buy cheap 9 $ china packs :P

  • but its not even funny ...:-/

  • you are NUTZ!

  • holy crap!

  • YOU

    ARE

    THE

    BEST

  • well, even if you store it in such a cash box, once it starts to burn, the smoke will alarm neigbors and they will call the fire fighters and they knock your door out.expensive crap those lipos.i will buy one very soon, but i´´m really afraid of them

  • maybe put it in ur washroom and put the ventilation on

  • Omg you are crazy!

  • What is also good is an ammo container. It's made of sturdy metal and designed for small explosions, lol! If anything will survive a li-po explosion it is that kind of container. I got mine at a gun show for 5 bucks!

  • lol nice..

  • Yep - I just bought a little metal cash box for mine too!

  • after seeing this i went out and bought a cash box for charging and storing my lipo's. thanks for the vid ....

  • lol if u ever take a treck into the wild to fly rc planes and u get lost u always have a fire starter ready

  • Good video, im going to go and get me a cash box tomorrow to store my LiPo's in as now they are just sitting next to my bed in my room!

  • It is bruning because in a Lipo battery lithium is in, and if you take a hole into the cell air (O2) get into the pack and react with the lithium.

This is a normal alkali reaction in a air atmosphare.

  • Yeah that's True O2 (Oxygen) Is what triggers the flames because pure O2 oxygen is very flammable. Oh yeah and you're right about Lithium being incredibly reactive! That's why most Li-ion rechargeable batteries are dangerous!

  • wrong. pure o2 is NOT flammable. it makes other materials combustible. oxygen is needed for combustion. What GeekRus95 said is correct.

  • yeah why do people like to explode good lipos i paid like 170 for a 5000mah 3sp1 lipo batter charger and power supply but why people why

  • because thier old and possibly broken, plus its worth the test to see if you can safley store it in that box.

  • bubut.. the moolah..

  • It just irks me to see a battery I could be flying with die like some sideshow.

  • how can we see wood feeling hot?

  • yeah you can see that the wood is not burned or is hot if hes touching it

  • it's better to see a factory of LIPO batteries set in fire...

  • I use a lipo bag inside a 50cal ammo box with the lever lid.

And apparently you are a pyromaniac.

  • That's pretty smart, and all pyromaniacs, including him, I bet are very satisfied right now, and will be trying it...

  • Same here. Army surplus did it for me. If you don't want to buy an ammo box, cinder blocks will do the job.

  • I use a cash box for charging my Lipo's.

Good to see it I made the right choice.

    Thanks for the Demo.

  • Thats a great idea!

  • Great video, thanks for testing out this cheap and obviously very effective method of storage (I will be using one with a lipo sack for storage)- nothing like someone actually testing something out first hand - proof is in the pudding!! With these precautions sorted we can all now get on with the fun or using Lipo's!!

  • the lipo will not catch fire coz too much smoke in the box.... sound reasonable...

shoul buy one for my lipo.... thank a lot man...

  • LIPO smoke don't breath that! lol

  • @31794ty its actually

    LIPO smoke..... dont breath this!

  • why would u waste a lipo like that

  • looks like a good way to charge lipos safely, I bought a cashbox after seeing this, cheaper and easier than those lipo bags as well

  • I suppose this means a metal toolbox will work too right?

  • DUDE!! I would never do that!! ur crazy.

  • you r so crazy lol

  • its like one of those BBQ ovens that have lids

  • you are my new idol

  • You are fast. Are you some kind of ninja!? j/k

  • eu tambem ja abri 1 rebentou dentro d casa mas la assuprei e apagouuuuuu xddd ah granda malucooooo xddd

  • OMFG wot was the test 4 ? But that was well funny :D

  • the gas with toxic?

  • nice!

  • Great test. You moved very quickly!!! Thanks for playing R & D :)
