In the still-shots sequence, I think the most emotionally strong shots are those where the mother looks at his son (she realizes he is back) and then she kisses him passionately! I think the mother's expression in these two shots couldn't have been better and more moving! Although we haven't seen her before in the film, she really steals the show in these two shots. That's why the director placed the still shots with the mother after the shots with the father and the shots with the girlfriend.
