how do we know what is on the other side, has any spirits actually told us. how can we help them cross over, i have heard this before, what is it that we the living can do to help.

Usually it is a matter of talking to them and meditating or praying for them, and asking for help to come for them. Ask them to remember friends and loved ones and call out for them. Ask for any good, helpful spirits around to come assist them. Explain there is no reason to fear going into the light, what is on the other side is a reunion with other souls they knew and with their creator. They can continue the journey of their lives there, and learn and evolve. Prayer has worked well for me.

that explains why some say help, don't leave, we can help them kind of like holding their hand. as for the get out and go away spirit reactions, that might be strickly untrusting of strangers and fear of the unknown. how do they get sidetracked I wonder, maybe you can ask them why they didnt see the light if there is one, immediately. must be so fearful when you pass quickly or any way to find yourself no alive, no one hearing or seeing you and most importantly be confused. Religious teachings, the further you go back, had most people convinced they had only hell to look forward to for even the most minor of transgessions. These usually go after some reassurance. I've had some children that seemed incapable of going anywhere without a parent, they were just lost in the true sense of the word. One stated that they just liked life. I believe it's a choice to move on or not for some. Catholics believe that some can't go unless they are prayed for. So I always pray.

I used to be one of those stereotypes that though ghost were only here to haunt ppl. But now after hearing your EVPs, I realize they literally are just as human as we are. :)Have you ever encountered a like, stubborn ghost? Like one that told you to go away or threaten you?

No threats, but there's been a few pranks. Then later an apology from them and they said they were just bored. The most stubborn was a child, I think they were just too young to understand so for weeks they repeated the same thing over and over. Like you said, very very human.

Thank you for saying so, that's a big big part of why I posted these. I think alot of people are frightened because of the surprise of something unexpected happening, but chances are it's just someone's deceased grandma or uncle joe.

This is a great video. My sisters and I do the same thing. I have done evp's with my brother who just pasted for years. My goal is to learn about them but mainly to help the spirits who want to cross over.

I started off wanting to hear from my grandmother, but it seems everyone BUT my grandmother would come through. After doing this a while, I think if a spirit came through claiming to be my grandmother I would hesitate to take it at face value. I have even been told by spirits not to look for her. But the people I know of who do claim to hear from loved ones generally get them on regular digital recorders rather than through a box of any type... just be careful.

That's my daughter who decided to do some EVP last Halloween. She was seven at the time, she took the recorder and wandered off. On the way there, she said "Can you please don't be scary?" and what follows is that whispery EVP.

I've been watching these videos, and all I can think is how horrible it would be to be in their position. I'm to scared to do anything like you are (I even have to put them on mute), but I think what you do is really cool. I don't know, it just I'm overcome with horrible dread and fear when it comes to spirits... I had alot of fear and anxiety at first. It took a few months to get over that part of it. I still occasionally get anxious, but usually I get some reassurance from them in one form or another and settle down. I also spent some time talking to a priest about it. I think a certain amount of fear is good, for it generates a healthy amount of respect. Just understand that most spirits are just people. Someone's parents or grandparents or siblings, and they're just a little lost. And thanks :)

I am careful and I do uninvite the nasties before I begin. This was all done at home though, because I had alot of (benign) activity that I was trying to get to the bottom of. Nothing evil just stuff trying to get my attention for a while. After a few of these sessions everything went quiet and has been quiet ever since, so I guess most of them went on their way.

Part of it is convincing them to go, part of it is asking for help on their behalf and praying for them to be able to leave. The fearful, confused, stubborn or self condemning types can take some working with. But thank you :)

Very interesting EVPs. I, too, have gotten some that sound angelic, with singing, etc. And I also have helped spirits cross over. In fact, I've gotten some EVPs in which a spirit tells another, "perhaps she can help you". Very good work! Keep it up!

A ghost box, generally speaking, is a modified radio (or set of radios) that will endlessly scan looking for frequencies (some I think sit on white radio noise). For whatever reason voices come through during the scanning activity, and/or in the absence of a signal. It's newer technology and controversial.

Running the voices through analytic software puts them way out of the range of the human voice. That works for most anyone out there that is dedicated to proving falsities ;P

one that I have encountered. It said "Ron" (My name is Ronald) in a whisper. I thought someone had come into my room so I looked over to my left at my door (That's where I heard it from) and I said "what"? I just looked there for a few seconds and realized there was nothing there. I couldn't stay in my room anymore. It really shock me up that time. I have also had some other things happend to me like my bed shacking and I have weird scratches on my back. Well thats my experiences with them.

I think you have a mix of something that wants to communicate with you and something that either wants to scare you or is becoming frustrated with you. It sounds like you've tried to ignore them. You could try asking them to leave, or ask them to stop shaking the bed and stop scratching you if they stay. If you are religious at all, try placing a cross above the bed or under the mattress and say a prayer for protection before you go to bed to see if that helps with the scratching and shaking.

I have had many experiences with spirits in my home. Im not sure what they want but They have said 3 things to me. I was sitting alone all three times. The first one said "Help" It creeped me out but I didn't even leave the room. the second one happened about 1 month later. This on was scarier than the first one. It said "Die". That was very scary but I still didn't leave the room and I started to pretend I didn't hear anything. The latest one was about 2 months ago and this is the scariest.

You probably had something attached to the house that you moved out of that was either trying to get your attention or annoyed with your presence. Ditto with your one encounter in Brazil. Some people seem to attract this stuff more than others, it sounds like you are one of the lucky ones they like to play with :)

I,m just reading the comments between negative and positive.Peggy Kanes evps i can,t stand listening to her.But interesting concepts.I haven,t been doing evps lately because i collapsed standing in my toilet and ended up curled up on the floor unable to think.Cut and bruised.Something knocked me out.With weird things happening i,ve put it down for a bit.But could be a mixture of things.I,ve had the good voice from evp but also name calling,anyway the big adventure continues.

Well i think number one rule for me is don,t let it trip you out.Just go along with it and they will get bored and move on.Also if your religous think of god,say a little prayer.Clense the house by cleaning it helps as well it called clensing the enviroment you live in.And things dispurse.I hope that helps also tuning into the wire doesn,t help.

I would first try to rule out that it is not sound being carried in from somewhere else. It's amazing how far sound can travel, especially over bodies of water. If you can't find an explanation for it and you do pray, say a prayer asking for protection for you and for your home. You can use google to find prayers of protection if you feel like you aren't good at making one up. I hope that helps.

I heard EVPs with similar voices as the one saying "come to me" except they were saying some "non-angelic" things i guess you can say. Is it possible that perhaps helping them may help them into a trap? I don't think it's it's necessary (or the job of a human) to intervene. Asking them questions for observation may be ok but to put it another way I would rather help clone a human than try to advise a spirit into something that lasts eternity.

Millions of Catholics would disagree with you. They believe that praying lost souls into heaven is the only way for them to get there. And most of the spirits who are here are unhappy and want to go. I don't believe that "come to me" was a demon who showed up after I prayed. I'm also sure that spirits on the other side are aware of the "good" or "evil" quality of others as I've heard them react negatively to "bad" spirits before. Having been there I could feel something positive had taken place.

Assuming "come to me" was an angel, because demons are theorized to be fallen angels, it would follow that they would have the same strength of voice. It is also said that like attracts like and so spirit work should not be performed by the negative or fearful. Crossing spirits over is not something just anyone can do for this reason, and this is why I used the wording I did. I hope that the ones who can, will. Those that don't feel right about it will not have a good result. Those that do will.

why make it a catholic thing? The big picture could be something much more complex than some church. And about the good and evil concept, human feeling may not denote whether it is good or bad. How they react to each other is certainly not for the human to get involved in. However, I will say this is a nice catch of EVPs and it was a job well done regardless.

I agree that the big picture is much more complex than any one church. I also believe that all religions have an element of truth in them. I have tried to learn what I can from many. I'm not a Catholic but there are elements of that religion that help greatly with spirit work. I also believe the ability to sense good or bad has to do with how sensitive a person is and whether or not they trust themselves. So that is why I feel comfortable getting involved. I respect your choice not to. Peace :)

That was really great that you are helping them. Are you a medium or pyschic? How do the spirits know to talk to you or trust you? How can you get them to talk in your home? I have only been able to get evp in a cemetery. Sometimes they do not say anything.

I honestly haven't figured all of that out yet. I saw and heard spirits as a child growing up in a house from the early 1800's, but I have not as an adult. Maybe the EVP thing is connected to that and I am sensitive to them or them to me. I am pretty much learning as I go, it just seemed to be the right thing to do. I started out with a spirit child crying out nonstop for a mother, when she crossed over and I no longer heard her pleading I felt like I had done something good. So I kept going.
