From the little research I have done on this issue, it is easier to tell Chinese and Korean; and you just have to pray when trying to determine if someone is Japanese. Unless of course they tell you their last name.

Anyways, I'm actually a mixed between Korean and Caucasian. My caucasian side is of Irish, english and scotish. I also have a little Cherokee Indian about 1/4 of it on my dad's side which my TRIPLE great grandmother is full cherokee indian. But that part would be hard to tell if you saw me. Koreans: - have straight eyebrows... easiest way to detect them - smaller chins - tallest Asians - flat face - "angry eyes" slanted upwards - whitest Asian skin (could be cosmetics) JP women: - oval faces - curved eyebrows - more European eyes (shape) Overall I've found a lot more better looking KR than JP

Japanese girls are really good at putting on makeup to make their eyes look bigger though.. you'd be amazed what a difference makeup can make.
