  • you dont look very filipino, are you half filipino?

  • @Cetrix Yes, half. : )

  • wow you're a member of Iglesia Ni Cristo too, no wonder you're amazing :)

  • this is the basic way to cook sinangag, i'll just suggest to add a little butter, with the olive oil, cuz olive oil has a lower smoke point than other oils.

  • nicely done. :D

  • I'll use one whole head of garlic per serving :P

  • Roast a porkbutt for about 4 to 6 hours, use the rendered fat or Bacon fat,ENJOY

  • Use lechon fat instead of oil, true FILIPINO food

  • @longknifepinoy mmmm, that sounds so yummy and so bad for you! haha. Not much of a source for lechon fat around here though...

  • @ck4801 dont do it you'll end up dying young

  • "The good old fashion Grandma's traditional way" I love it.

  • i too cook garlic with rice, but I add more Oil, where my rice comes pretty crispy and cakey, plus i add more garlic, its very good, I love filipino foods, i cook that also!!

  • This is great! :)

  • too little garlic for that amount of rice for me! ;)

  • i now know how to cook garlic rice....garlic and rice..thats it : /

  • @kkk345ify i wasn't trying to be funny...im serious,i learned how to make it...we have garlic rice 3 times a week..you are more than welcome to join us

  • @pogisiG lol ok

  • what i do, i mash or break the huge chunks of rice using my hands, of course you want your hands clean when you do this and your hands need to be wet when you do it :) just sharing :D

  • @jamillathekilla. Yes. The rice is precooked. I did it in a rice cooker.

  • Do you cook the rice before doing any of this?

  • Best fried rice in the world for me! Best served with eggs and tocino.. :D

  • @jmiempi Oh yes! Tocino and sinangag are the perfect pair!

  • that is not the traditional way of cooking sinangag....sorry !!!but tnxzzz 4 d effort....

  • @sepc4galang Well, that's how my lola taught me and since she is 95 years old, and the definition of traditional is having been time-honored and passed down (in this case to me), that makes it traditional. However, keep in mind that there are many provinces in PI, and perhaps this is traditional for MY region and maybe not for yours.

  • that is not the traditional way of cooking sinangag....sorry !!!

  • @sepc4galang not all sinangag here in the philippines are the same so wag ka magmarunong. may sarili kang tradisyon ng sinangag meron din siya, meron din kame. walang pakealaman, mga tinuturuan niya mga hindi pa nakakaalam ng sinangag hindi tayong mga pinoy na alam talaga ito.

  • you are hot!

  • thanks for the video...mmm...miss my Lola's cooking

  • im not trying to make a negative comment but i think it need it more color it and you shoud of plate it but thank u anyways maybe a little more oil woud of been better

  • No offense taken, but this is a specific recipe for sinangag which is traditionally made with only rice and garlic (and possibly onion). However, if I do a video on a new fried recipe I'll keep your suggestions in mind.

  • Thanks for doing Philippines cooking !!! I'm a puti with a filippina asawa -- I am a chef and if drives me crazy when people us metal utensils in non-stick pans!!! So thanks for mentioning that !!

  • YAY!!!! Thank you! I think I won't be able to mess it up after watching your video. =) Salamat!!!

  • Walang anuman! : )

  • wow..Its nice to see someone like you appreciating philippine dishes,,hehe..like me I'm filipino & I always eat Garlic fryd rice Breakfast, lunch and dinner..lol..Thanks for sharing..

oh and you look like Demi moore... ;)

  • Will tuna or salmon work with this dish?

  • I think a grilled or seared fish fillet would go great! Steamed fish would work as well. I've even had canned salmon with this. I don't think canned tuna would match though...but I could be wrong.

  • wow nice easy to cook...good taste..

  • It's one of my favorites! It goes great with so many things, and can even be eaten alone.

  • Made this tonight for me and my family. We all enjoyed it so much. Easy to make and yummy!

  • Glad you liked it!

  • you can cook and ur good looking :D a dreamwomen.

  • How do they make the garlic fried rice thats colored brown? :(

  • Add a VERY small amount of soy sauce while sauteing.

  • we are filipinos & we eat lot of rice, lol.

yeah..ilove to eat tons of sinangag during breakfast:D

i love putting more garlic on my rice^^

  • Did you know? LARD oil is beef fat.

That means the food tastes like

    'Hamburger', you heard the

rumor the potato fry tastes like a

burger patty? Try healty olive oil (anti-

    oxidant cancer) or Cranoil

    (lowers LDL anti-heart

    problem).

  • I use olive oil for everything. Even my butter is made from olive oil...

  • おいしそう!

  • wow , thats an easy recipe. Can i use garlic paste?

  • i'm sure you could. Of course nothing tastes like fresh garlic, but I don't see why paste wouldn't work just as well or better than powder.

  • OMG. I haven't had this in years. I will have to make some this weekend. But you should also make a video on how to make tapa.

    salamat

    Ruel

  • FYI, I'm recording a tapa video this week! Stop by and see it when it's done!

  • Your vids are so easy to understand and follow; I can't wait to try the recipes. Thank you so much for sharing!
