Generally it is, but if you live in Canberra where most lakes get down to 5 deg, u need some serious luck!

winter is the time of year when you catch the least amount of cod LOL plus is illegal to keep them in winter. summer is by far the best time to catch cod thats when they bite best when the water warms up and that is why summer is cod season.

but they arent as active as they are in the warmer months, like i said you can still catch them in winter but you get alot more strikes in summer months, besides it illegal to keep them in winter lol ya idiot
