  • Long live Conrail!

  • Please accept my video response of Conrail Operation Lifesaver #5262 in Jackson, Michigan!

  • Great Video, but I just caught Conrail (NS) 5262 in conrail operation lifesaver paint in Michigan. I think that there are actually two mabey three Conrail units still in OLS paint.

  • ooh i saw the OLS engine the other day!

  • I once saw 5290 in an NS yard in Detroit

  • Definitely have seen it in Bethlehem numerous times.

  • When I had originally caught NS #5290 in the early winter of 2009, someone had posted a picture of an engine claiming it to be NS #5262 (in black paint). The numbers were hard to read but the poster claimed it was NS #5262. I should not have "assumed" it was that engine nor should I have declared 5290 as the last remaining CR OLS unit. That was my own mistake and regret saying what I did. A big ole "my bad" on my part...

  • I cught one of the last remaining CNW Operation Lifesavers 2 days ago

  • wouldn't that job symbol denote a Conrail shared assets train?

  • Yessir. I've actually had the symbol incorrect for some time, now, though. My friend Drew corrected me -- the train is actually CSAO YPMO-01.

  • well there was a

conrail operation life saver unit through here and you said that 5290 is the only one.

  • It was likely NS #5262, which is also in CR-OLI. When I made this video I had several VERY reliable sources tell me that 5290 was the only one. They were wrong, and so was I. But #5262 is probably the one of which you speak

  • oh ok. yeah the one here switches the Conrail shared assets around detroit,

  • that unit has been the yard switcher in lower michigan for a few months..it went south toward toledo last week..still blue

  • hey....when 5290 ends up in juniata to get repainted (which it will) lemme know and ill drive over and get some pics before she meets her ns fate

  • The Dairy Queen on S Delmour Ave is were i saw my first frieght train up close it was a NS local with CSX garbage running

  • Thanks for this first-rate production. Beautiful camera-work, smart narration, sweet train...and even some street running. Very nicely done.

  • great vid..but look at the shocking condition of the track..amazing the locos don't derail !

  • Great video....

So she's the last survivor of all the Conrail locomotives for OLS.

  • Thanks! And yep... she's walking on thin ice, too. NS keeps moving her around every month. First she was North Jersey...then Northeast Corridor.. then South Jersey/ Camden... now she's on the Morrisville runs. She's gonna be black soon.

  • probably not likely, and it certainly wouldn't be the same, but maybe she'll get ns OLS colors

  • i get these conrail engines all the time at 3 bridges but not operation lifesaver iv caught this only once 5*

  • Lol fleecejackets!

  • such a great video.you got some great shots.i really like the sunset scene.

  • great video kyle she's a beauty

  • One lucky engine! I saw this train cross over the parkway once! Too bad it was only for a split second but still I saw it.

  • Ya done good there, kid!

There's a hi hood NS GP38-2 around now!

  • I hope they never re-paint the old Conrail locomotive. Nice catch.

  • Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • nice! saw some of this on railvideos

  • Such a beautiful sight! LONG LIVE THE BLUE!

  • i sure do miss conrail and finally the lines in my area are getting busier!

  • Great videos, I wish CSX got some Spartan Cab SD70s.

  • This is a GP38-2.. although the opening pic does look like an SD70

  • I know, I'm just saying.

  • The only remaining Conrail -Painted SD70 is leaving Morrisville tonight on either 14G or 21Q.

  • Right fine job buddy!

  • Great info and very nice video. I noticed a car cut in front of the engine at the 3:30 min. portion of the video. The risk some people take....everyone in a hurry.

  • great vid! I actually see alot of Conrail now and days idk y

  • very good 5 stars!

  • Very nice video the commentary gets better after each one. Great catch a truly one of a kind unit.

  • Great catch!

  • Wow, were you expecting this?

  • WoW! Great Video! 5*****

  • The info and shots were great, nice work getting this.

  • Wow! Awesome shots and lighting!

  • Fantastic video. Too bad the crew didn't blow the horn more..

  • If it is a P5, then it sounds like no other P5 I've ever heard.

  • I apologize.. that seems to be an RS3L.

  • It's okay. In any case, it sounds great, and I really like it.:)

  • Great videos, those tankers are either sent out of town on 17G or picked up by CSX C764 and taken north on Q418.

  • 5283 has a pretty cool horn. What type is it?

  • Kyle, I may have all the Conrail luck, but you have me on this one.....

Awesome video and one heck of a catch man!

  • Haha! Thank you Nick, I appreciate it!

  • Sure thing man, and great narration by the way!

  • Thanks very much! This is the first time I only messed up one time recording it! lol

  • lol

  • This is great, especially the return trip in the sweetlight with 5290 on point! Awesome! I always wondered where those tankers go, I see them on 14G and 17G all the time. Great documentary of the Morrisville area.

  • very very nice video..theres a conrail still in blue at the huntington railyard i have seen it ONCE ona csx consist..id really like to get better pics of it

  • NS GP38-2 5262 still has Conrail OLS paint as far as I know.

  • I thought 5262 was repainted last month!

  • Oh boy, I hope not!

  • awesome video. u can see me in the backround. And what kind of editing software do u use?

  • wow! amazing catch, excellent video too, it's hard enough just trying to find conrail these days let alone 5290
