In my opinion, "Unmasked" is an amazing record. Yeah, it's a true Pop record and not in the usual Kiss style, however, it's a great set of songs front to back. I respect KIss for trying different styles of music: "Beth", "I Was Made For Lovin' You", "Unmasked", 'Music From The Elder"....

I just hope one day Gene and Paul get over their issues with "Unmasked" & "Music From The Elder" and embrace how popular those 2 albums are to Kiss fans.

I love how P&G say it isn't a KISS album when it fails to live up to past albums. Every album they release they mention it is more like Classic KISS. Before Sonic Boom came out I read it was very R&RO. KISS is KISS they make music. At this point I can say that some is better than others, but I have never truly hated a KISS album. I like them for what they are. Sure Unmasked has a much poppier sound, but some of the songs are pretty good. Ace's come to mind. I will say that each album has filler.

in conection to austrailia,its interesting to note that this album obviously influenced alot of bands that came out of australia to become huge in the early eighties(flock of seaguls, men at work} i HATE it all but still

I was 9 in 1980 when I got this record, wore it out! One of KISS' best, I dont care what the critics say I lived in my bedroom with this album and I know everything from KISS 1974 to Sonic Boom.

Unmasked and even the elder are good albums, but maybe not right for what KISS is.
