just because you state backcombing is dirty white boy way its not true im a female and did the backcombing way and they look fine and are starting to lock fast and there only a few days old and there all natruel
I love your locks. I have locked a couple times in the past and currently locking now. When my hair needs the extra moisture I will use a dab of wax or shea butter for hold. But my mexican friend should never put wax on his head. It weighs the hair down and will cause breakage later.
those are wicked, I want to do my hair but it is dead straight and 33 inches long. Is it too long? and what sort of wax stuff should i use. Also I dye my hair black from blonde, will I still be able to dye successfuly?
I like the size of your dreds. I didn't know the process of achieving them was so tedious though. Just went from permed to natural hair. Was considering dreds but I think I'll just do twists. Gives me a little more versatility. Yours are all that though!
backcombing isnt dirty. people with straight hair need to backcomb to get the hair to lock up. its just another method. my friend has backcombed locks and his look just as good as mine (which were twisted).
I agree. It's not a dirty or clean thing, and it's not a black or white thing.
There are methodical methods (for straight AND curly/kinky hair) and more "laksidasical" methods like the "neglect" method. Each has its place, each has its charms. Whether you like them skinny or fat, neat or not, waxed or natural, etc.--you decide.
See pg 2 of my Faves for a vid of an asian guy doing a back-comb/crochet methods for a girl's locks that produces gorgeous results--and that's w/ asian hair!
are you gonna let your hair congo up? if not you can always put a very little amount of wax at the root base of each dread to keep the separated..although I refrain from its usage, it does come in handy if you know what you are doing. keep it up, I'm gonna grow mine super long! :-)
