By the way, the street where the people clap goodbye to the Beetle is Reforma Avenue, it crosses from side to side (east to west and viceversa) the Mexican capital city. The column that can be seen at the end, in the upper part of the screen before it's obscured by the streetlight is the Column of Independence, more colloquialy known as the Angel of Independence, one of the most famous landmarks in Mexico City.
I remember that I saw this ad twice while watching TV. At first I just thought "well, the vocho had to go someday". But now, understanding the importance of this car in my family -I am driving a '69 Beetle bought by my grandmother- in Mexico and in the automobile history, I always feel bad at the end, imagining that the Beetle that appears at the end is the one I drive... almost makes me cry everytime, and it surely makes me want to hug my dear old vocho (which I do).
you can also type on the search bar: "adios vocho" and you´ll be able to watch every one of the commercials from the 2004 Beetle Last Edition.

Ah, the memories. We used to have 3 Beetles in my family, now only one of them is still running.
Shame that they don't make the classic model anymore.
