  • Very, very cool! Nice work. Quite the undertaking!

E paulistano... Parabéns!

  • I wish Blake could only see this magnificent interpretaion!

People are wiped out instead of other animals.

  • We just watched this in drawing class today. I love it. I hope to be able to create things this amazing someday.

  • Tyger! Tyger! burning bright, In the forests of the night, What immortal hand or eye Could frame thy fearful symmetry? In what distant deeps or skies Burnt the fire in thine eyes? On what wings dare he aspire? What the hand dare seize the fire? And what shoulder, and what art? Could twist the sinews of thy heart? And when thy heart began to beat, What dread hand, and what dread feet?
  • What the hammer? What the chain? In what furnace was thy brain? What the anvil? What dread grasp Dare its deadly terrors clasp? When the stars threw down their spears, And watered heaven with their tears, Did he smile his work to see? Did he who made the Lamb, make thee? Tyger! Tyger! burning bright, In the forests of the night, What immortal hand or eye Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

  • So beautiful! The puppet and the puppeteering was absolutely stunning! Jolly good show! <3

  • Fantastic short film.

There is a neat little book titled "The Unholy City" - its a SF / social satire / love story about a futuristic city (sort of an Emerald City) that is menaced by an immense wild cat as a form of divine punishment. Very much in the style of Terry Gilliam. Anyway, its a good pulp novel from 1937 (!) that you can find on Amazon.

For obvious reasons this movie reminded me of that book.

  • Artful and interesting cool

  • WOW

  • so well done!!! it took me til the last minute to figure out there were puppeteers. i was blissfully glad to be duped.

  • Simply magnificent. I now read Blake's 'Tyger' in a new light.

  • So if the creator is from Brazil and the City is essentially Sao Paulo, why isn't the cat a jaguar? ;D

  • Smart ass haha

  • Because it was made as part of a large english school in Brazil. THey were creating an interpretation of a famous English poem. William Blake's the Tyger....... The poem is based on an English poet's reaction to seeing a tiger in a zoo. So it's a Brazilian's interpretation of and Englishman's interpretation of an Asian animal...... :-P

    answer your question?

  • I wasn't serious. Besides, a tiger that size, especially one demonstrating such supernatural abilities, is going wherever the hell it wants too...

  • I would love to have that tiger puppet :D

  • I love this flick!! saw it at the animation show!! the music rocks!!

  • This is absolutely brilliant!!! Fascinating... I love how the scenes have synchronia with music, but all over is excelente work!... Greetings from Colombia!

  • irgenwie langweilig......

  • this is gorgeous and powerful and altogether wonderful. really captures to poem. Music is reminiscent of early floyd too

  • Excellent!

  • Despertando nossos instintos animais!

  • Wonderful!

  • Most incredible...reminds me of Taymor's work!!

  • i watched dis in english

  • You forgot to mention in the description that this short was inspired by the William Blake poem, The Tiger. Ironically its countries like Brazil that allow massive logging and burning that will extinct tigers outside of Vegas shortly.

  • There are no tigers in Brazil, only jaguars. Stupidity and "eco-annoyance" has no limits.

  • Ironic, indeed. Tigers. In Brazil. Funny

  • Grrrrrrrr........ read about the history of the animation.... it's in reference to a famous poem... the poet was an Englishman who saw a tiger in London, a Brazilian heard the poem in Brazil.... it's not literal anyway, it's an artistic interpretation of a poem not a nature documentary..... :-P

  • Don't be too literal youself. The animation is a fantastic expression of Blake's songs of experience. I know the work. The animation is possibly the best thing I've seen online. Though I'm still tickled by tigers in Brazil. And the fact that I missed it. Chill brother. Step away from the heart attack.

This is VERY cool! : )

  • love it.

  • Mi dejo....sin palabras.... :O maravilloso!

  • A modern classic. Read my full review in the Animation Blog via my profile and thanks for posting.

  • That was absolutely awesome! Very beautiful, the music fit sooo well and I love the concept!

  • Stunning! Bravo!

  • this is a work of Art

Obrigado!

  • great soundtrack :) i don't like this kind of music..but this is just..wow :D

  • Po cara, muito bom!!! Parabéns!

  • Wow.

  • this is just fantastic! All of it: music, animation, story. Blake would be proud. Most creative thing I've see online in a long time

  • Wicked!

  • The movements of the tiger were amazing... very realistic!

  • The first time I saw this was on a cinema screen in an art gallery and OH MY GOD IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! and it totally blew my mind. this format does not do it justice.

  • wow, I was searching for something to help me write a paper on the poem, and this is what I found.... crazy

  • hobgoblinlkjfdsa

This was inspired by William Blake' poem tiger tiger burning bright.

I hate the fact that I've never made anything this awesome.

  • Absolutely mind-blowing... The thing worked so well as a whole but there was one moment that sent a chill down to my socks; where the three puppeteers rose like some kind of metaphysicality or metaphor (or something) over the mountain ridge. Wow.

    I was delightfully confused.

  • RAWR!!!! :D

I LOVE this video! The tiger puppet's motions are so smooth, and the puppeteers just as fearful in their mystery as the tiger itself. This is an excellent answer to the problem of evil: the POWER of evil! GO NIETZSCHE!

... just until something I care about gets eaten, anyway.

  • very cool, I'm not sure where William Blake comes into it though

  • awe inspiring. I'm nearly jealous I wasn't involved in its creation, it's so perfect.

  • de donde lo puedo bajar!??

  • simplesmente lokoooo!!

    parabens pelo video!!!

  • *** wonderful! ***

    can't believe my eyes.

    congratulations, good job!

  • A lot of you are discussing the importance of the puppeteers being visible. If any of you have actually read the poem "Tyger" by William Blake, you would notice that they have a vague poetic relevance in this video.

The poem talks a lot about God and the heavens, and why God would create such a viscious animal.

    The puppeteers are symbolizing God.

  • good for you

  • Evolution framed such fearful symmetry, This God thing you talk of is total fiction

  • The calling of Nature!!

    the video is awesome!!

  • gorgeous mix of media- or are the puppeteers also CGI???

and the music is great, reminds me of wire, or killing joke.

  • I'd love to see it on a big screen.

  • This is wonderful!

  • Mix maravilhoso de técnicas, parabens pelo trabalho!

Adorei o final, ele vem parar aqui no Pico do jaragua hehehe.

  • beautiful animation and music....mixed feelings about seeing the puppeteers ;they are part of it; all the humans turn to animals and butterflies;maybe that's the way it will all turn out in the end.fantastic

  • a música lembra tool

    é um vídeo impecável

    enche os olhos e os

    ouvidos

  • kind of interesting how they had all the animation, yet still showed the Tiger's puppeteers. Wonder if it's somehow poetically relevant?

  • that was extremmmmmmely cool.. loved it..

the art of it, the message of it..

    wonderful.

  • This is marvelous.

    Poetic and beautiful. Bravo!!!

  • wow !!! :)

  • my gosh. that was interesting. with the tiger and the old guy watching a thong on TV and then turning into a monkey made me crack up but still it was REALLY cool. Good JOB whoever made this and i give probs to whover POSTED this too!

  • Such powerful imagery. The animation shows the Tyger's fearful symmetry.

I noticed that the background music is liken as a war-drum. The steps of the tyger is well-choreographed that it seemed to move along gracefully yet violently with the music.

  • this is the best short animation i ever seen. so inspirate and disturb mind. 100 from 5. outstanding, amazing, and thriller work.

  • wow, that was heavy!

    Parabens a Todos !

  • A animação é cativante, ácida e criativa.

  • Very cool... we just sat here in awe watching it all.

  • SENSACIONAL...em todos os aspectos.

    a trilha sonora é perfeita!

  • Jesus, that was truly outstanding! I now have the urge to go animate something again.

  • great!!!

  • awsome!! i love the interpretation!

  • This is awesome.

  • One of the worst poems I've ever read, but this animation-er-short film is amazing! I love that you can see the people controlling the puppet. It adds a whole other dimension! Such an incredible interpretation!

  • Fodástico !! oO

A mistura das diferentes técnicas ficou simplesmente perfeita!

  • Pretty sweet, but I just can't get past the fact that you see the people controlling the tiger.. it annoys me.

  • I beleive that's purposeful- at least it fits with the meaning of the poem.

  • EXCELLENT!!!

  • Excelente.

  • Outstanding. A truly beautiful production based on my favourite poem. I particularly liked the visual metaphor for the urban jungle as the 'forest of the night'. An impressive and stunning combination of mediums, thanks for posting it.

  • Just amazing....20 puntos, 5 estrellas

    ATT: MAHS

  • nothing short of amazing.

  • Parabéns! Muito foda!

  • excelente... buenisimo.

  • Fantàstic, on teniu més animacions?

  • not bad

amazing is a tough word, but i love the technique and the mixed media at work

  • Joder esta currao que te cagas

  • ke xkeria

  • impresionante

    PARABENS!

  • la puta selva

  • yeah, excellent idea and job, congratulations for use diverses techniques...

  • That was seriously beautiful. Wow!
