This is an Amazing Cybershot, but it acts like a TOY ! ! ! !

I returned two DSC-WX1 to Sony because of the poor results in LOW Light (one was Serial N.: 8251850).

This model keeps Automatic Exposure.

NO MANUAL MODE ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

I have a 6 Years old Cybershot with the same size and MANUAL Exposure and it takes BETTER pictures than this Scrap.

Sony DOWNGRADED the Cybershot line.

Sad.

the "Exmor R" sensor should really make a difference. Ive seen the difference it makes on the camcorders and it's a massive step up in low light conditions. Gonna be getting one when it comes out! (provided its as good with photos as it is with video)

Not possible, there won't be zoom on movie shooting. It's very hard to do it and conserve battery and to maintain the small size of point-and-shoot cameras.

I dont know about this over the w290. I mean this does have the new sensor, but the LCD screen becomes smaller and is 10.1 megapixels compared to 12.1 mp for the dsc-w290 (I know mp doesn't make a diff.)

Hopefully when this releases it will be reviewed extensively. Though it will probably be at least $100 more expensive than the w290.

I just heard from someone who tested the WX1 in the UK and he says YES, this camera can zoom while recording. My current Kodak zooms while recording, it isn't that hard to do.

According to a reviewer in the UK, it CAN zoom while recording! I am so happy.

Hi Shanna - over on Vimeo, search for WX1, there is a sample there including zooming. Looks decent for the only sample out there (afaik). If you have not been to the Sony forum at DPreview, it's worth checking out since there are a lot of us finding sample shots, reviews, movie etc. over there.
