    I love old games man.

  • @haloprime360 (the faker)

I love to make fun of old games, man.

  • When that guy was playing his sega saturn he was dooming everyone.

  • Fuck old games.

  • hahaha! Sony buy SEGA company... ALL!

  • fucking sega and the crappy timing if only thay braught out the saturn after ps one the thay woulden have stod a chance long live the saturn

  • ahhhhh those were the days. when companies could make direct references to eachother in advertisements without getting sued out the ass for damages.

  • wow lol. Sega talked shit about all of their competition xD

  • looks more like a panzer dragoon commercial :P jk

  • it is a launch commercial ?

  • Ahh the cockroach at the end is priceless.

  • The Sega Saturn was cool. I didn't get to get it because my cousin had this system.

  • i think saturn was an underrated console

  • lol the cockaroach xD!!

  • funny how they always hav a go at Nintendo and In this advert Sony and yet sony and nintendo thrashed them with the ps1 and n64

  • lol i like how they burn sony

  • Saturn kicks ass, but SEGA's American marketing department deserved to be hanged.

  • Comment removed

  • I bought it as soon as it was available. I still think it kicked ass! Well worth the money.

  • Wow! Last time Nintendo, now finally PS!

  • 0:00 to 8:00 looks like Shadow's gotten out of GUN's base again

  • Good system well underrated

  • It was a good machine, but no-one bought the fucker. Partly because they had no really good launch games.

  • 0:29 SEGA!!!

    I almost shit myself. :D

  • @NintendoStarWing i thought it said nigga

  • wow i thought sega saturn was like ancient...graphix look better than i expected

  • Three 32 bit procesors? then what was the point of having the 32x? damn sega is stupid

  • @aranahmad101 The original playstation was a 32 bit console.

  • @aranahmad101 um as it was 1 year ago i dont know what the hell i was talking about so can u please explain :L

  • dood im so fuckin high right now

  • hi could someone please help me out does pal mean the games will play in uk version of the console

  • @TONKSRED300 yea it does

  • So, if you play Sega Saturn, the world will explode. :D

  • Sega had already lost by this point. Maybe they lost before the match started, but you can tell that they're panicked here.

  • hmm, they are using the playstation 3 logic of more processors = better

  • @nullwii

Actually, even with all the SPE and PPE lark of the PS3's Cell, it's still essentially just a single CPU.

  • Sega Saturn = 3 processors that was impossible to develop for, which is why the Saturn Failed.

Sony Playstation= 1 processor that was a dream to program for, which is why the Playstation kicked the Saturn's ass..lol

  • SEGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 0:30 SEGA!

  • RIP dude playing the saturn

  • @sonicman2500 MAYBE TAILS DOLL CURSE XD

  • The Saturn marked the end of Sega... They didn't stand a chance against the N64 and PS1.... I mean, everybody's heard of Ocarina of Time, Goldeneye, Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy 7 but WTF was on the Saturn?

  • I never seen this ad before. I remember seeing very few ads for Sega Saturn games back in the day. They made little to no effort to promote this system.

  • @Sly88Frye

I agree, they pretty much gave up on saturn in america. But I tell you this, I sure as hell would have bought a saturn if they had the segata sanshiro commercials in the states.

  • nothing else matters.

  • and the fact that sony playstation had one. didnt help sega much in sales

  • Playstion all the wayy

  • what?dissing on sony and not nintendo?give up much?

  • @ConsoleWarSucks Well, I'd say there is a very good reason they didn't attack Nintendo. The Saturn and Playstation came out 1 year before the N64 did, so when the Saturn just came out and this ad was made, there was yet to be an N64.

  • Yeah Three Processors, and the SEGA Saturn games didn't even use all three,

  • I think one of the biggest downfalls of the SEGA Saturn was that there really was no true Sonic Game.

Sonic R was a racing game, Sonic Jam was a compilation of the SEGA Genesis Sonic Games, and Sonic 3D blast was the Genesis game on the Saturn

  • I got it at launch had to import games to australia just to play them, cause they never really came down under...same as dreamcast?

What was that about anyway????Back in the day i blamed sony lol...

  • Wow 3!!!! I thought it only had 2 processors.

  • Saturn had 3 processors..but it was too darn diffult to program for..lol

    that's why Saturn died

  • @tom11zz884

Pretty much. Doesn't make much sense to brag about your console's technology when the competitor's games still manage to look BETTER.

  • @Forzaabruzzo I'd like to see the playstation try to make a game like Nights into dream, or Marvel vs. Superhereos, or sega rally, i can go on and on.

Saturn was a more powerful system

  • @tom11zz884

Technically the Saturn was a more powerful system, but unfortunately 3rd party developers had no idea as to how to get the most out of it! The technology was too advanced and complicated for developers, therefore it made it too difficult and costly for these developers to make quality games for it.

  • @Forzaabruzzo You know what`s funny?According to a Capcom developer The PlayStation 2 was even more difficult to program for then the Saturn. And developers were able to push the PS2 really hard.If developers would have took time to learn the Saturn we would have seen games on the Saturn that look way better then PS1 games and the Saturn version of Shenmue which was canceled proves this.

  • @barlog20: But the Saturn was not popular in the USA , that is why you are complaining about lack of games. In Japan , the Saturn was a success and there were many games released for the 2d crazy Japanese market that were not exported to US

  • @Jawarib1 I know,i have the Saturn and i got games that came out in America and imports.I bought the Saturn twice:first time back in 97 then later i sold it to my friend brother with all my Saturn games then years later i missed it and regretted it so i bought another Saturn on Ebay for like 70 dollars and it came with 8 games and i bought more games also on Ebay and Amazon for the Saturn. To me Saturn best games was the 2d ones like Xmen,Xmen VS SF, Radiant Silvergun,D & D collection etc..

  • @barlog20: Can you please give me names of Good Saturn games? I might download the emulator if you convince me.

  • @Jawarib1 OK:Xmen vs Street Fighter,Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter,Thunder Force 5,Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3,X-men,Street Fighter Alpha 1,2,3,Mega man 5,Shinobi Legions,Night Warriors,Vampire Savior,Dungeons and Dragons Collections,Die Hard Arcade,Fighting Vipers,Virtua Fighter 2,Sega Rally,Daytona Championship Circuit Edition,Radiant Silver gun,Dodonpachi ,Hyper Duel,Panzer Dragoon 1 and 2,Panzer Dragoon Orta,Hyper Duel,Virtua Cop 1 and 2,Last Bronx,House of the dead,Duke Nukem,Cyberbots.

  • @barlog20: Thanks!

  • @tom11zz884 Well the PS had Gran Turismo, which was vastly superior to the likes of Sega Rally. Ultimately, as has been said many times before, the Saturn was to be a 2D console, not 3D; that feature was tacked on right at the end of development.

Though vastly superior technically, games were hard to program for the Saturn and so quality / quantity failed to match the PS.

All that said, I was a Saturn owner back then and I wipe my arse on the PS! Sega all the way! ;p

  • sega had the best arcade to console games but what i think that screw them up was when they first release it it was $500

  • @aznbigboyjo3 400$ not 500$ but yea i agree but with all the xtra processors and shit it was no 'cheap' peace of equipment even today 9 processors is alot o-o

  • Sega also alienated Electronic Arts and the hardware was too expensive, lacked backward compatibility, and sold at a loss. However, any one of those mistakes, alone would not have slowed the Saturn down. It would have overtaken the PS1. It was all of these mistakes taken together that ruined the Saturn and also guaranteed no real developer support for the Dreamcast.

  • @SpencerGTR... It was more complicated than that. Sega of America also got the Saturn banned from Wal-Mart and Kay-Bee toys, would not allow 80 percent of the Japanese titles to come out, and used quadrilateral geometry for which there was no developer's kit at the time. Basically, the CEO in Japan was senile and the CEO in the United States was an idiot.

  • we have 3 processors ...the playstation only has one. You can tell how desperate they were to sell this thing if they started comparing it to the PS1, and actually pronounceing the competitons name in their own ad. Exactly like atari did when nintendo came with the NES.

  • Wasnt it the competition for the ps1? Thats why they compared it.

  • dis ad is great exept the end, cockroach!

    X(

  • @mariomario8489 yeah that ending is very creepy.

  • my saturn broke in about 3 weeks

  • Oo, this could be that one commercial that ruined the sega saturn.

  • well, the story of 2 processors is true. Used simultaneously in Virtua Fighter 2: a game with the highest resolution of the period, for ANY 32 bit sistem

  • AAAH CRAZY COCKROACH!!

  • The problem with the Saturn was that it was a horrible system to develop software for. Most companies couldn't understand or figure out how to fully utilize the Sega Saturn's full potential. It had two processors, one to process 3D and one to process 2D, and both processors could be used simultaneously, which if developers could've fully utilized this, we would have seen games far superior to anything else on the market. Unfortunately, Sega messed up with this system, it never amounted to much

  • well said

as much as I love SEGA and the saturn - this is the harsh truth

  • The saturn was like the xbox of the 90s it was a beast. the saturn actually sold well in japan and lasted a few more years there. Japan had all the sweet games too, ones that never made it to the U.S. shores. Nevertheless software was not the issue for the saturn it was management. Sega was run by ignorant people that couldn't make a decision and stick to and support that decision.

  • TWO processors, do you hear ?!

unfortunately almost noone knew how to max the damn thing out

  • Ps1 Beats Saturn's ass

    64 Beats Saturn's ass

    SNES Beats Saturn's ass

  • Saturn beats your ass.

  • SNES? come one dude we can tell you hate sega but wake the fuck up.

  • yea tekken 3 graphics sucked it looked better on bleemcast.

  • isn't Defcon 5 normal? in Wargames, they start out at Defcon 5 and count down to Defcon 1.

  • Yep,your right.They screwed up.

  • lol i have just a saturn and panzer

  • Actually, the Sega Saturn had graphics nearly on PS2 level, but N64 and PS1 were much more popular, and easier to program for, so Saturn was left behind.

  • I think you are mistaken the Dreamcast with the Saturn. The Dreamcast could compete with the PS2...

  • Saturn had good graphics yes. PS1 do you have NiGHTS??!!

  • bull

show me a saturn game the graphical quality of gran turismo 2 and donkey kong 64

    well? well?

  • Gran Turismo 2? LOL That looked like shit! V-Rally was the best looking racing game by FAR.

Also, show me something in the level of Panzer Dragoon 2 on the PSX. Or Nights.

  • N64 Clearly had the superior hardware between the 3. But PS1/Saturn were relatively close to each other in terms of power and capability.

  • I don't know if you'd consider it superior - it depends what you want. The lack of a CD-Rom technology meant that developers couldn't fit a ton of stuff into most games and a necessity for low-res textures. As far as I've seen, the Nintendo 64 was really bad at 2D, as well - the best-looking 2D games I can think of on the Nintendo 64 are Mischief Makers and Ogre Battle 64 which look like something the Saturn could have churned out with ease.

  • As good as Dreamcast graphics? YEAH RIGHT.

  • @WebVMan Key word: NEARLY

  • @Gotmilk0112

Umm, dunno about that, that would mean that the Saturn was more powerful than the Dreamcast lol. But the Saturn definitely had a slew of horsepower that was never utilised. *points to Shenmue*

  • @Gotmilk0112

Plus the Saturn was built for 2D games, meaning that 2D titles were generally very, very pretty on the Saturn.

Too bad most of them stayed in Japan.

  • first theyre crapping on nintendo now sony.

sega plays hard ball in the earlier video game war

  • Obviously, Segata Sanshiro can do better than this. Instead of saying Sega can do more than the PS1, he threatens you to play the Saturn.

  • and indeed sanshiro did in fact do the job much better in japan than bernie did in america.

  • panzer dragoon, hell yeah

  • It may have had three processors, but they created it originally to be a powerhouse 2D game system, made for things like puzzlers and 2D fighters and side scrollers. Thus, they made it difficult to develop 3D games for it. A glorious device from SEGA, but a nightmare to develop for.

  • sega consols were fuckn good. the saturn was way ahead of ps1, sony were still learning how to play videos at that point. the xbox and ps2 were to blame for the dreamcasts sell out. still today the dreamcast is a good machine for its time. respect for sega and all the goodtimes in the 1990s with sonic the hedgehog.

  • thank god they did try fucking with Nintendo again, it would but another ass kicking

  • Sony's Processor was bigger and better than Saturn's! I still can't believe that it cost $400 and was inferior to PS one when the PS3 is $400 and WAY better than all other hardware.

  • Wait, we're talking about the PS3? *confused*

  • nothing else matters, lol its like a spoof commercial

  • sega saturn is better than ps1

  • definately man

  • @rulersmg1 Yeah, that's why sony still makes console's and sega doesn't

  • @rulersmg1 FINALLY SOMEONE WHO ISNT A DOUCHE!!!!

  • @randomboys1000 haha thx, lol imagine is Sega still made consoles, the graphics would be amazing!!!!

  • @rulersmg1 i actually emailed sega and asked if they had plans to make anymore consoles, i also mentioned that i felt really bad because the saturn and dreamcast would have been so AMAZING if it hadn't had failed cuz of the fucking people! and i persueded them to make a second console and suggested a name like dreamcast 2. the guys reply was no plans that im aware of. but hopefully they'll take my advice :)

  • @randomboys1000 I hope they take the advice because if Sega actually made a console again, it would be a good competitor

  • @rulersmg1 i know i would buy it :D

  • @randomboys1000 dude the SEGA Dreamstar instead of Dreamcast 2

  • @JoostRevo thats cool :)

  • sony playstation only has 1 >:( how gay are they

  • if the cancelled sonic xtreme game came out it would of saved the console. but since it was cancelled many critics found the system in no competition with the others.both the sega 32x and saturn should have never came to be and sega would be in the console buissness today still.

  • what is it with sega making insults to other consoles! i understand they are competiting but they like to immtimadate other consoles.

  • i did have a sega saturn once. i wish i had it right now!

  • i wish i had mine too would be worth a bit of money now i bet, Shinning the holy ark was immence!

  • actully it isnt not even dreamcast is a lot its worth 20 bucks!

  • i remember playing virtua cop 2 all the time with the bright orange light gun, i miss sega's consoles

  • I never knew anyone that had a Saturn.

Everyone else including myself was into Playstation and N64.

  • Let me clear up some things:

    -------------------------

    Why the Saturn failed:

    -------------------------

    1. Poor marketing

    2. Difficult to develop for

    3. High price point

    4. Distrust over the 32x fiasco

I personally love all things Sega and the Saturn is no exception. It's not a perfect console but it's 3D prowess is quite impressive as proven by Panzer Dragoon Saga and Burning Rangers. I also think the Saturn had the best controller of the generation not to mention sturdiest build quality.

  • When you've got Sega Saturn, nothing else matters... Because you spent all of your money on it creating a massive rift between you and your friends that are all enjoying the ever-so-more popular PlayStation... lol. Dont worry, I like Saturn.

  • SEGA!

  • mine works like new, but im looking for clockwork knight..

if u have it and want to sell it please let me know!

    thanks <3

  • SEGA!

  • SEGA! oh man I remember these kind of commercials Saturn R.I.P.

  • wow i wonder how saturn could have been a failure

  • It is pretty obvious why it failed.

it really is such a shame, had sega made the saturn more popular, and sold it at Saturn day instead of before the launch day, then the dreamcast would have definatly become the top seller of generation six.

the console is a bad mark in the history of a wonderful company.

  • Lol, they did an error while writing that commercial's script, DEFCON 5 means peace. XD

Anyway, the Saturn is dead commercially, but you know you don't want to forget it when you loved it.

  • Same old Sega console strategy "We don't know what this means but the opposition doesn't have it!"

  • sony playstation only has one lol lmfao im so bootlegin this. im tryin to sell my sega on ebay check out my vids ppl comming soon

  • yea but sony playstation live forever with 2 and 3 version...and saturn well...R.I.P.

  • well now the ps3 is the closest one to dying

  • Sony deserve it.

  • wonder why the saturn fucked up...

  • sega didnt understand that more processors does not equal better console

  • "Sega Saturn has 3 32-bit processors" Too bad nobody in the world knew how to utilize more than one of them. There is not one game made for both PS1 and Saturn that looks better on Saturn, Take Tomb Raider for example.

  • 2D games looked better on the Saturn. Saturn could do MUCH better sprite rendering. Street Fighter Alpha 2, Primal Rage, Grandia, and Silhouette Mirage all looked better on the Saturn for example.

  • That is coreect. As a matter of fact, the Saturn was originally suposed to be a machine that would mostly produce 2D games. When Sega got wind of what Sony and Nintendo was doing, they quickly gave it a boost in the 3D department. Virtual Fighter 2 and Duke Nukem 3D are good examples of what the Saturn could do with the right programers. But like I stated above, good luck finding somebody who was able to do it on a consistent basis.

  • One of those 32-bit processors was dedicated to loading games, in order to take the overhead for that function off the two CPUs and to shorten load times. For exclusive games AM2 would use both CPUs. One CPU would handle one fighter while the other CPU would handle the other fighter. For multi-platform games, Lobotomy Software and Tomonobu Itagaki made superior Saturn versions of their games. In fact Tomunobu Itagaki much preferred the Saturn as a system for which to make games than PSX.

  • I forgot to mention the name of AM2's game in my last comment. I was referring, of course, to Virtua Fighter 2.

  • that 3 proccesors shit really made a difference in marvel super heroes vs. streetfighter tho n the saturn version u could actually swap characters just like the arcade but u couldn't do that in the ps

  • The reason the Saturn version was able to switch characters was due to the mandatory ram cartridge (that had to be inserted into the memory card slot, that came with the game) not the 3 32-bit processors, had the PS1had the ram cartridge, it would have been just as good, if not better.

  • Yeah it had two 3D and one 2D processor that the stupid third party game producers didn't understand how to use. So instead they made a massive amount of easy to produce crap for the PSX, and that is just one of the many reasons why this increadible system failed so miserably.

  • i agree, you got a psn: mines RyaNtheSlayA

  • LOL "Sony PlayStation only has 1". It also has Final Fantasy VII and Metal Gear Solid, pwned

  • And what did saturn have? Lots of canceled games and a controller that only works for a gorilla.

  • Don't forget Tekken 3.

  • u suck jordanN3335 sega rules

  • There was a huge variety of anime-styled games in Japan.

  • What the hell does that have to do with anything Anime games have always been there since the beginning.

  • the sega saturn was great but It had three proccesors which made it harder for 3rd party development to make games for it cause the system proccesors are too complex the graphics are still better than psx

  • Better then PS1? Are you smokin too much pot? The only edge the saturn had against the ps1 was a faster frame rate on 2-d games. Thats it. In fact the saturn was originally a 32x turned into a system to be the fastest 2D console but SEGA realized 2D was outdated compared to Ps1 and N64 3D. So SEGA rushed it in and thats why most of its games are 2D-3D'ish.

  • Correction: Sega had PLENTY of 2D games for the Saturn. In Japan, though. Bernie Stolar, who was once with Sony but moved to Sega, said "no" to 2D games on the Saturn in America like he did with the PlayStation while he was there.

  • notice how in all the sega commercials they point out the flaws of there rivals?

  • yeah caz sega was being an asshole to the better consoles

  • LMFAO random cockroach at end //!SEGA!!!!!!!

  • back in the days. i loved this console

  • LMFAO random cockroach at end //!SEGA!!!!!!!

  • who wants to buy my sega saturn it's now rare comes with pedles well msg me and i'll give u my number if you intrusted in system peace out

  • but Playstation sold 100 million systems and the Sega Saturn sold 10 million systems Im serious no offense to Sega Saturn it was a pretty good system

  • It was a good system, it's problem was this: It's release was too close from Sega's previous system. And it didn't have a strong marketing plan. Nobody was ready for it.

  • The Saturn and Dreamcast where both the little systems that could i owned both saturn ans the PS i still think the saturn was better

  • 100% agree!

  • Segata Sanshiro > this. XD

  • Microsoft.what a souless machine..JAPs do it best even though gc was gay. Saturn(panzer saga) genesis(phantasy stars.. dreamcast(shenmue) n64(zeldas) all looking to create something special.. wow has sucked the souls of all and in turn console developers dont give a shit about puting in effort, when money now is about who can create a multiplayer game that wastes the most time.nintendo make toys now. Go ps3, but I think bill and blizzard will rape you, and then the souls of all gamers
