Thanks for this beautiful story and video. I am building the relationship with my first horse. The other day, I took him in the round pen and went in with him. I purposely turned my back while he was on the other side of the pen from me and just waited. Listening to him walking toward me, I felt a soft bump from him on my back. It was so soft and gentle and I was so thrilled. Your video brought it back to me.
This sunday, 2 days from now, I am buying my first horse that I have ever owned - it is something I have dreamed of all my life. I will strive to achieve that same sort of extraordinary and trusting relationship with him, that you have with accomplished with Cash.
I love your website and videos, you're an inspiration!
it took us 3 years to ride our Mustang, we established a realtionship first by playing, going on hand walks, round-penning ... now, this wild, once angry, scared, mistreated (when we got him) animal stands in the middle of the round pen (no rope at all, no whip ..), I call for him, sitting on the top rail, doing the proper gesture and he approaches the pen wall and "parks" perfectly parallel close to the rail so that I can just slip on the saddle or on this bare back
I understand you emotions. I have worked hard to form a relationship of love, language and leadership with my horse. It thrills my emotions when I go to the pasture gate to get my horse and that is as far as I have to go. He comes to me every time, immediately, snuggles for a minute or so, they lowers his head for me to put his halter on. Nothing like it!
Thanks much Miss Megan. I'll pass your comment along to "the man" :)
