I adore Slime World. I got a Lynx back in the day when they were new. Slime World is my favorite Lynx game that I own. I really love all the fabulous arcade ports on this system as well. It was light years ahead of Game Boy. My friends were stuck with spinach while I had color!
I certainly remember the horrid battery life as well. I used mine at home plugged in most of the time. My rechargeable batteries make it worth it to haul it outside again. They get me about 3 hours of play.
@kevinsvideogameworld The Lynx used a 65C02 CPU, which was part of the 6502 8-bit family. But it also used a 16-bit graphics chip to achieve all the super-cool scaling and sprite effects. When it came to actual performance, the Lynx gave the Genesis and Turbografx a serious run for their money. The Atari Games coin-op conversions were stunning. And a game like Slime World really couldn't be equaled anywhere else.
@RocMegamanX If you wanted to get a Lynx today, I say go for it. You'll have a lot of fun with the early Epyx titles and the arcade translations. Battery life was horrific, though. You were lucky to get 3 hours from a set of good batteries. One time, on a school trip, I grabbed a pack of cheap, generic AAs for the Lynx. Drained those buggers in 40 minutes flat. So basically my Lynx was always plugged into a wall socket.

Still have my Lynx and a few games, including "Slime Word." It was a terrific hand held system.

Yesterday I bought a couple of games for my Lynx. To my surprise Slimeworld was one of them.
I played this sucker as a child. And to be honest. It's even better now..
It's such a magnificent game.

It's too bad that this handheld has such a short battery life, or else I'd get one and this game, since people say that it's good.
