  • My husband, Greg Day, is the flight engineer on this plane. He loves the "old bird" and is very proud to be a member of its crew.

  • I flew this aircraft from Louisville to Tampa back in 1961; it sure seemed like a big plane to a little boy at that time.

  • dam those props r scary..they could chop u up in an instant.

  • Man, I was born in the wrong era, radial engines are the essence of flying

  • It is not good to drop parts off.........so the PRTs are still on for sure.

  • Now THAT is a Dream Liner for sure. Looks to be a DC6 on one side and a DC4 on the other; what's up with those?

  • Thanks for the kudos. The DC-6, DC-4, AND another DC-7B are all freighters that are operated by Florida Air Transport. Same crews will be flying the Eastern DC-7B

  • If, by chance, you're Mr. Roger J., I'm one of your customers out in Seattle, WA (John Crowley). Ya'll make the hottest models around !!

  • Hi John,

This is Roger J, and that is why you got the link. I am sending it to my BEST friends first. Thanks!

  • Roger J? from Atlantic? I have a metal DC7 i need to get restored. let me know if you can fit it into your schedule. thanks

  • Tell me more, and we can set a schedule.

    Thanks! Roger J.

  • it looks like a 1/48 or 1/50 aluminum raise up model in SAS livery. wings do not detach. The paintwork is chippd quite badly and yellowed. There are few dents on the wing tips (on the flap edges),and a 1/4 inch x1/16 dent on the nose. I want restored to AA colors keeping the original aluminum body (dont want body painted gray or silver).

  • what are you talking about ???

  • Looks like the PRT'S are still there. Good job guy's. Hope to see her fly soon.

  • I don't think its smokey enough :P

  • Come on down, and pass the coffee!

  • I last flew N836D on July 23, 1965 BAL to JFK. We had spent 2 days on it originating from DCA the day before to STL with a layover. Thank goodness for Log Books to refresh one's memory! My last flight on DC-7B's was a few days later on N838D and then went over to the Boeing 727.

  • Great going you guys down there in Miami.

Reminds me of my days as FE on that bird back in the 1960's! Many hours looking at the engine analyzer and passing coffee up to the Captain and Co-pilot! Many oil spots on my shirt too!
