I have a 2011 MS3 Velocity Red what mods have you done?

@T0H0E0G0A0M0E I dont know why anyone would buy an RX8. They just don't look nice and the speed 3s r faster. The only possible explaination that I can think of is that people want to drive sideways around corners and really, if thats what you're going for, buy a different car. Don't buy an RX8.

@grado1000, that CAI was my 1st upgrade. I've done a bunch of things to it as well but the most beneficial upgrade in my opinion is the rear engine mount. Made a big improvement in the driving characteristics.

@Taxis911 agreed...I read in a MS forum that a guy ran a 13.7 bone stock. The tests for the car usually says 5.5-6.3, with 14.1-3 1/4 mile but it can definitely pull 5 flat 0-60's stock with high 13's

@horsemouth76 Good luck with the purchase. You've probably done stuff already, but basic bolt ons can add an enormous amount of power. Throw on a CAI and air filter and you'll add a nice amount of power for under 500 bucks.

give me a break, the mazda speeds are fast, but a viper, your not going to win ever if that viper driver can shift well, unless you drop another 10 g's into the mazda, which is def not worth it

yes a viper,and it doesn't take $10,000 .And if you were paying attention speed3 had a 1/2 secound head start vs the vette strait up vette got the speed of the line but kept up.

@chug1966 What are you talking about?????? That was bracket racing Dial for Viper was 11.90 and the Mazda 12.70? also the Mazda keeping up with the vette??? Vette ran high 11's and the Mazda ran high 12's????? Whatever..........it still isn't that fast......

The Viper doesn't need to wake up, it's bracket racing folks.

p.s. great MS3. I have an 09 with test pipe, cobb short ram intake, forged bpv and I seriously just can't ever hook up. spins all through 1st, over half way through 2nd, a few rotations in 3rd and barks the ever loving shit out of em in 4th. but that's not really a good thing as it's a pain to race from a digg and throttle control everything. i can do it well, but lol, so much TORQUE! :D

@shpankey My MS3 is fully bolted, and man it just gets worse! Right now I'm spinning most of 3rd as well if I'm on it WOT. I promise motor mounts and suspension parts have helped though. And there is also a new LSD for sale for our cars, I'm looking into that next.

Sweet runs. I drive an SS Turbo but I was real close to buying this. Give either car a good driver and they can decimate many more expensive cars. Sweet driving and congrats on the sick times.

i own an MS3 as well, though not modded... i can tell you, it takes a lot of money and effort to get one to move like that... not to mention a good driver....

i hate vipers, and yes it was faster, but i bet you can surprise a lot of stuff with that MS3..

Actually that car has very little money in it. A boost controller, some holes cut in the airbox, a test pipe and slicks. So, maybe $650 including the tires?

I've been 12.90s in mine with tires, a CAI and motor mounts, so about $750. It has a boost controller now, so we'll see what she'll do shortly.

It takes more than a few dollars to put an MS3 into the 12's. The stock vipers do

run in the mid 11's without modification.

Regardless, no one spends $80,000 on a car just for the speed (and I think a Viper is a pretty poor choice for that much $)

If I'm driving a new 911 Carrera, and some kid in a modified MS3 thinks he has a better car than me because it's faster.....fine, let him.

I think the MS3 is a sweet little car, but it's still a beefed up FWD economy car.

There is no reason to compare an MS3 with a Carrera. Both are awesome cars within the class they fall in, but they are certainly not in the same class. I drive an MS3, but I'm in the same boat as you.

Better is a relative word. For my age, my budget, and my needs, MS3 is the perfect car, so its 'better' for me... 10 or so years down the road, and the Carrera will probably be the 'better' suited one for my needs.

So for what its worth, this MS3 and it's driver are doing an outstanding job.

what's great about these cars is that you only need a pair of really good tires up front and easily hit mid 13's stock. I trapped at 102 with a crappy 2.4 '60 foot completely stock. that trap speed should be around a 13.7 e/t

How does the Viper driver need to wake up? The Viper did the 1/4 mile in 11.96@114mph and 11.92@114mph, which is actually a good 1/4 mile from a stock SRT-10.

Awesome time for the MS3 though, easily outdoes the SRT-4 as the new pocket rocket.
