  • lets see your in poverty you see children going hungry all around you, so what do they do?have sex and make more baby to go hungry,fn stupid people, when a girl comes of age have her fix, then they can fuck all they want .

  • @jewls323 You have it backwards. Birth rates fall as nations reduce infant mortality rates and industrialize.

Industrial birth rates decline because children are educated for skilled positions, not used as farm labor. This is the Social Demographic Transition. Econ development has improved improved health globally. /watch?v=BPt8ElTQMIg

Birth rates also decline as infant mortality falls because parents no longer have to compensate for dead children. /watch?v=jAJC2YAJw_A

  • stupid people breeding.

  • You make me puke. This is a step towards GLOBAL TAXATION. Open your eyes! The U.S. will be subject to international laws and regulations. Supporting an act such as this brings you one step closer to the demise of a free humanity. Open your fucking eyes people do some research on it then tell me I'm wrong. Everyone wants to believe what the media tells them... Well guess what you just sheep. So go ahead sheep.... flock to your shepards as they lead you to your own slaughter.

  • There is a middle ground on this issue that does not require developed nations to allow 1/3 of humanity to die from preventable diseases.

The U.S. only donates 0.15% of its income to official development assistance. The Global Poverty Act merely affirms the U.S. commitment to the U.N.'s Millenium Development goals. These goals are implemented by nations' voluntary participation, not military force.

No child should have to die from lacking a $1 vaccine or food supplement.

  • wait a second. that .15% is money the american government received by taxing the american people. the american people received that first by working. often times having to work very hard. they pay taxes so that the government can engage in certain things to benefit their community. not to be sent on the other side of the planet.

  • mizzoulibertarian, it is a crime against humanity to allow 1/3 of humanity to die over pennies. Our community is tied to the rest of the world and has a responsibility to it. Remember, the world sent the US aid when Hurricane Katrina destroyed New Orleans.

  • There are currently around 300 million people living in the US, and if you took a "few cents" from every person, you'd get 1.5 Billion (if I counted right) HOWEVER, 40% don't pay taxes, so it won't be 1.5 Billion. This plan requires an estimated $845 BILLION dollars. Also, you haven't told me how and why it's our job to do this.

You obviously want to help these kids, and I'm cool with that, so why don't you take 60% of your paycheck (if you work) and help 'em out?

  • The figure you give is for 13 years total. So it comes out to 65 billion per year which is a small part of a 3 trillion dollar budget.

This will wipe out malaria, tuberculosis, measles, pneumonia, and acute malnutrition that murder 1/3 of humanity.

We should grieve about the people that died on 9-11, but you barely notice when 1/3 of humanity dies from diseases that can be prevented with $1 vaccines.

We are talking about 0.15% of our income.

  • Wait, 65 Billion per year? Well then it still doesn't come out even. This would mean that the goverment would have to raise taxes, or take more, if they want to continue running programs and do this. Unless I'm missing something?

Also, why does it require $845 Billion in a 13 year span to help these kids when the treatment for them is, according to you, is only a dollar or two?

Do you have an exact number, or at least estimate, of the kids in this situation?

  • That's a small price to prevent 1/3 of humanity from dying.

May I ask you a question? I understand that your site wants to spend money on defense to protect our citizens and allies. I have very thoughtful subscribers that support a strong defense.

But you are not willing to spend a much smaller amount to stop hundreds of millions from being killed.

    That is very contradictory.

  • I am willing to spend a small amount, but on my own will. I don't like my goverment taking even more money, that's the problem I don't think you understand. Most of us don't want $845 Billion, even if it is a "small" amount over a 13 year span, to be taken forcefully and distributed.

What about our kids, hmm? There are starving kids here in the US, kids living under bridges, kids getting shot everyday, etc etc, yet $845 Billion isn't being spent for them?

  • You didn't answer my question. Please reread it.

Spending less than 1% of our income to prevent 1/3 of humanity from dying will not cause our children to starve.

  • You didn't ask a question in your last comment. You asked if you could ask me a question and then gave me a statement.

Spending 1% isn't going to cause our kids from starving, yes. But I didn't say that. I said that kids are, right now, starving; yet nothing is being done for them. Why? Why arn't you asking for $845 Billion for them, instead of some kid in a hell hole?

Unless I read that last bit wrong (which I hope I'm not)

  • This discussion is now going in circles. I think we should finish it here because we have both expressed our positions.

  • Lol, come on.

Let me ask you something. Would the $845 Billion be paid back to us after it's distributed?

  • No, people like you will send it to Israel but complain if we try to save 1/3 of humanity....

  • Great, now we're bringing Israel into this.

Just so you know, we send Israel a few billion, and that's for their survival. If you haven't noticed, some people want Israel destroyed.

Another question; Are the US Citizens going to be the only ones giving up their money, or are other countries going to throw into the pot too?

  • The UN Millennium goals apply to the entire developed world, including Europe.

I have great subscribers that support defense, Israel and foreign aid for wiping out killer diseases.

You are just too contradictory. You are too hypocritical.

  • Sorry for the late reply.

So the money from the EU, Russia, China, Israel (?) and the US would be added together over a 13 year period and sent to the kids? Or is some of this money going to be put off for some other stupid project the UN has?

And no, I just belive that it isn't our job to send $845 Billion to third world countries. Plus, we shouldn't do it right now, and it should be up to the people when they want to help. They shouldn't be forced to help.

  • so why should we be sending money for israels survival over say the africa's survival? its not israels money or africa's money. it was taxed (stolen) from the american people.

  • We aren't just talking about Israel and Africa. We are talking about 1/3 of humanity that lives on less than $2 per day.

We are part of humanity. If a catastrophe started killing most of the developed world's children, the outcry to stop it would be great. Yet, we are arguing over a tiny fraction of our income.

    PS

Taxes fund programs that are decided by the community and that benefit the community. If you disagree, stop using public roads and services.

  • we can create those roads with local taxes voluntarily given. and often due. local communities ussualy do a better job with services than the federal government.

"we are part of humanity" i don't know what to say there. the world is mad up of different clans, tribes, nation states, and faiths. and most don't like each other sadly

  • We are part of humanity. The Measles Initiative has vaccinated 600 million children around the world since 2001 in order to reduce global measles deaths by 75%.

Groups like UNICEF are saving the lives of children around the world every day.

  • wrong I'm complaining about it going to israel or goldman sachs. it belongs to me. I worked for it.

  • Did you use a public road, enroll your children in a public school, and benefit from our nation's sewage treatment and public health systems? Have you ever donated to charity?

  • I donate to charity as often as possible. not to jeff sachs though because of his close ties to monsanto with is responsible for GMO'S , agent orange, roundup, and chemicals used for making bombs. went to a private school, and local taxes pay for sewage. I don't think I've used a public health system. be careful of that sachs guy. im sure you mean well but his agenda is quite different than you think.

  • Public sewage systems were vital in combating typhoid and cholera in America. Public health programs were vital in combating Malaria, Tuberculosis, and Measles in America. You have greatly benefited from these programs.

I hope you get a chance to visit UNICEF and MSF's youtube channels. They are wonderful organizations.

  • That money is going to go to global corporations and third world dictators.

  • Hi xxdiogenescynicxx,

Huge global vaccination programs are wiping out smallpox, polio and measles.

UNICEF, the Red Cross, and the CDC have immunized 600 million from measles since 2001.

    watch?v=axYibL_6cMc

UNICEF is holding a campaign to immunize 53 million from polio.

    watch?v=fXKbLYApR7Y

This has reduced child mortality by 50% in countries like Laos, Bangladesh and Indonesia since 1990.

    watch?v=EWI_1QoQ9aM

  • Question: Are you and the libs going to help pay, or am I going to foot the bill?

Helping these kids is a good cause, but it isn't our job. It belongs to the country and goverment those kids live in. If we do this, it's going to destroy our country and screw our lives up. Who's going to save us then?

  • Hi WTCTribute,

The developed world can wipe out huge diseases killing 1/3 of humanity for less than 1% of its income. For example, the US only donates 0.15% of its income to official development assistance.

Vaccines and food supplements that wipe out Measles and acute malnutrition only cost $1 a dose.

I am amazed the developed world can say we should allow humanity's poor to die for so little.

  • Answer the question, are you going to help pay or not.

  • I do help pay. I donate to Doctors without Borders.

UNICEF is wiping out measles and saving millions of lives every year. This program is cheap because each dose only costs $1.

Do you think this program is a mistake?

Do you think we should allow humanity's extreme poor to die so that you can save a few cents per every hundred dollars?

  • Are you going to let them take huge amounts of cash out of your pay, etc?

We should help the extremely poor, but it isn't our job to do it. We shouldn't be forced to do it. We should instead be forcing the goverments that those kids are in to start improving lives and living standards.

  • You are talking about a few cents on every hundred dollars to wipe out diseases killing off humanity.

Most government spending is coming from a few programs. Allowing the world's poor to die isn't going to change this.

  • No, it isn't going to be a "few cents" it's going to be a least a hundered or two. They're talking about sending billions upon billions to other countries, and WE are going to be paying for it. You may think I'm selfish or heartless, but it isn't my job to help them.

  • Yes it is a few cents on the dollar. Programs are measured as a percent of the budget and economy. These programs are a tiny percentage of it.

The US only spends 0.15% of its income on official development assistance.

We are wiping out polio and measles that attacked 1/3 of humanity and murdered millions every year.

  • No, it isn't a "few cents". How can you take a few cents from someone's paycheck if you plan on sending billions and billions? The match doesn't add up.

And show me where it's our job to do this. Also, tell me why fixing their goverments, who can then fix their lives isn't an option?

  • The match does add up. The annual federal budget is $2-$3 trillion. Yearly aid for wiping out diseases killing humanity would be a very small fraction of this.

Almost half of fed spending normally comes from social security, medicare and medicaid. Letting the world's poor die isn't going to solve anything.

WTCTribute, do you think the WHO's Global Polio Eradication Initiative was a mistake? It cut world polio cases from 350,000 per year in 1988 to 1,000 in 2004.

    watch?v=JSBekNIFTeI

  • *Also, tell me why fixing their goverments, who can then fix their lives isn't an option?*

Aid organizations are working with gov health workers to reduce infant mortality around the world.

According to UNICEF, *Since 1960, the global under-five mortality rate has declined more than 60 per cent.*

    /watch?v=ALlj0T6UTq4

  • Work with them in fixing their damn country so we don't have to do everything for them.

  • You ignored my last comment. Countries in the developing world are implementing major programs that have reduced infant mortality by 60%.

    /watch?v=ALlj0T6UTq4

  • Sorry, didn't see the last comment. Well, the budget may be $2-3 Trillion (which should be smaller, especially now) but the match doesn't add up. They'll need more money to continue running our programs and help these kids.

  • > Let the limousine liberals spend their own money.

    > Americans will not give up their taxes and lliberty to the crooks and thugs at the so-called "United Nations".

  • Do you believe UNICEF's Measles Initiative is a mistake? It has reduced global measles deaths by over 50% in six years and is saving millions of lives.

    /watch?v=_y7DBvAolNw

You don't have to be liberal or conservative to believe we should wipe out massive diseases afflicting 1/3 of humanity for less than 1% of our income. You just need to be human.

  • Outstanding! This video, the speaker's words are so down to earth, are so true! I can not understand how, or why people still insist on making arguments against what is undeniably true. Thanks for the video and the words!

  • Thanks for the wonderful comment! The WHO wiped out polio and UNICEF and the Red Cross have wiped out 74% of measles deaths in six years. We can save so many millions of lives for so little.

  • You don't think these people can't earn 2 dollars a day? Why don't you see the real source of this problem? These people are the victims of a global elite that destroy there economy and promote war, disease and famine. And why? so that they can steal there natural resources. These people could be flourish on there own if we quit supporting IMF, UN, WHO, and all these eugenics organizations bent on sterilizing them.

  • Do you really think taking billions of American tax dollars and giving them to the UN for "global poverty" is going to improve these peoples lives???? There the ones that caused this problem in the first place!!! On Purpose!!! And reward them for this OUTRAGE?!?!?!

  • Yes, I do believe donating less than 1% of our income will wipe out massive diseases killing much of humanity.

MSF has vaccinated over 500,000 children for Measles in the Congo and Niger this year.

UNICEF reports the under 5 infant mortality has decreased 25% in the last 5 years.

    /watch?v=ALlj0T6UTq4

  • Do you believe the programs below are part of a conspiracy?

The WHO's Global Polio Eradication Initiative cut world polio cases from 350,000 per year in 1988 to 1,000 in 2004.

    /watch?v=INVVmLJ1zYk

UNICEF has major measles vaccination programs all over the world, including Laos.

    /watch?v=eRuHFAlhjMo

  • Its an Unconstitutional bill that violates the second amendment, and its one big spending bill that will do little in support to help American. American is hurting too you know, and we will be like that if we don't fix ourselves soon. One day China may say, "Pay up". Cut the excessive spending and raise a surplus then maybe this option has a better chance. But it must not allow our rights to be violated or all those treaties forced sign upon us. The bill hides behinds those sick children.

  • You are arguing that we should let the world's extreme poor die because we will lose our sovereignty if we spend less than 1% of our income on UN programs. That is not reasonable.

We have wiped out polio. This bill would wipe out malaria, tuberculosis, and other infectious diseases.

This bill would have a minor impact on our budget. You need to control social security, medicare, and medicaid to truly control spending. Please see my comments below for a detailed explanation.

  • The constitution has clauses in it that allow congress to tax, raise revenue, and regulate foreign commerce.

  • And the more we venture off from the Constitution the more trouble we are in.

Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid aren't in the Constitution. And they are being exploited as a finanical tool for the special interests. And guess what! This bill is by the special interest.

Ben Franklin said, "those who would sacrifice security for liberal deserve neither ..." And vice versa.

  • Yes I am arguing that we should let the extreme poor die, instead of passing that corrupt bill. The people won't get the endless support they need because we won't exist anymore. You want us to help, let us fix ourselves. And you do know our freedoms are at stake from this corrupt bill? Poverty is at stake for banning the 2nd amendment. Crime is poverty and how easy is it for crime to take on defenseless people and that creates more Poverty.

  • How many times do you have to under stand our National Security is at stake from this bill? Our individual personal Liberties that we fought for are at stake with this bill. A noble cause shouldn't exist with this level of insecurity, but it does. The name of the this bill is a lie. Its very evil of Obama to take it to this level, and I am outraged on the man.

To truly control spending we need to get rid of the Federal Reserve, IRS, and income tax.

  • *Yes I am arguing that we should let the extreme poor die*

For less than 1% of our income we can wipe out malaria, measles, tuberculosis, and other infectious diseases that are killing millions of humanity's extreme poor every year.

We have already succeeded in wiping out polio.

It will be a small part of the budget and have a very minor impact domestically, yet you are willing to neglect millions of real suffering, dying people.

    Please rethink things.

  • Ben Franklin said, "those who would sacrifice security for liberal deserve neither ..." And vice versa.

Fix the bill then use it. Otherwise it is morally wrong, and it won't help the poor.

  • Does Ben Franklin think we should eliminate public education or public vaccination programs here in the US?

Government does have legitimate social functions.

  • He thinks we should eliminate the department of education or reduce its size, 10-folds.

Fix the bill then use it. Otherwise it is morally wrong, and it won't help the poor.

  • The Global Polio Eradication Initiative cut world polio cases from 350,000 per year in 1988 to 1,000 in 2004.

    watch?v=JSBekNIFTeI

Here is a list of similar goals in the Global Poverty Act:

including eradicating extreme hunger and reducing hunger and malnutrition.....reducing child mortality, improving maternal health, combating the spread of preventable diseases such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria, increasing access to potable water and basic sanitation

    This will help the poor

  • It will kill the United States.

    watch?v=PePbtEABzGk

  • SchemeFighter is a very dishonest person.

He admits the polio eradication program saved millions of lives but doesn't care about the lives of millions of people. That is why he blocks anyone's ability to respond to him. he has no integrity whatsoever.

Read my discussion with him on my channel's main comment board. Also see other versions of that video that allowed me to comment.

  • Its doesn't matter what SchemeFighter is. The video is on Glenn Beck's show. That is the truth. Case closed.

  • So we should let humanity's extreme poor die of preventable diseases for less than 1% of our income because Glenn Beck says so?

  • You are just ignorant and willing to throw this country's foundation down the drain. Disrespectful to all the service men and women who die for this country and most importantly disrespectful to this country. People like you think the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are toilet paper. Go to those countries yourself and do everyone a favor. Done talking with you, because you are repeating again.

  • I think it is disrespectful to our loyal, dedicated service men to spend 20% of our budget on war but almost nothing on wiping out massive diseases killing much of humanity.

  • Point?

  • I think the fact you changing the subject to another problem is not admitting to the fact I am right about this one. The military problem is another issue that was wrong. The war was unconstitutional, and surge won't last long. McCain has a withdraw time. Nice chatting with ya.

  • Eliminating disease in foreign countries is a just cause, but it is not the role of the United States government. Just as it is not the role of the United States government to make regime changes or bail out private industry. Our Founding Fathers are rolling in their graves fast enough that they could be harnessed as a alternative source of energy.

  • 1/3 of humanity lives on less than $2 per day and is dying from diseases we can prevent. Yet, according to the OECD, the U.S. only donates 0.15% of its income to official development assistance.

Most of humanity is rolling in their graves.

  • Not the role end of discussion.

  • Not the role according to you. We live in a democratic republic and even the constitution has clauses in that allow congress to tax, raise revenue, and regulate foreign commerce.

  • I don't get it.

Some how this video implies that its my fault these children suffer. Why aren't the corrupt governments these children live in held to blame for the lack of opportunity to lift one self up and stand on their own 2 feet. instead were called to continue to support those governments that lead to these conditions

  • We have wiped out polio and can wipe out malaria, small pox, tuberculosis, and other horrible diseases for less than 1% of our income. We need to be aware of that.

Much of humanity still lacks the basic infrastructure and technology we take for granted and will have to struggle for years before they have it. That is why we have an important role.

My channel's personal profile says aid should be used for health and sanitation. I agree aid may fund corrupt govs if used for grander aims.

  • I am going to respond quite frankly to keepitlegalmygeeza. People are afraid to spend a tiny fraction of their income on the large part of humanity because:

    1) They aren't aware of the huge life saving impact these programs have

    2) They aren't aware of how minor of an impact this would have on the budget.

Our economy doubles in size every 30 years due to economic growth. This has made many programs to shrink as a percent our budget.

  • For example, defense has fallen from 13% of our incomes in 1954 to 4% today because it can't keep up, even with the large buildups. As a result, defense has fallen from 50% of the budget in 1960 to 18% in 2001. This trend will continue.

Likewise, our economy will double and the need for aid will fall from 0.7% to 0.35% in the next few decades.

  • Most of the increase in US federal spending has come from three large programs that are growing than a faster rate than our economy: social security, medicare, and medicaid. They are almost half of our budget now.

Please visit the congressional budget office site and select *Health* if you don't believe this.

Letting millions of people die around the world because we aren't willing to pay for $2 treatments will not solve anything.

  • .

    .

    .

  • Yeah! Why is there only 2 people commenting on this? It should be more popular! We need to get more money to other countries. Our country is so selfish and so self serving. We need to give our hate away and support this so we can spend this depreciated dollar to other countries.

  • keepitlegalmygeeza, my channel isn't designed to make people feel comfortable. There are very popular sites devoted to fighting global poverty all over YouTube.

My site is designed to make people think on the right and the left.

This video emphasizes that millions of people are needlessly dying due to neglect.

My *Open Letter to a Good Fan* in my channel's personal profile emphasizes aid will probably do harm if we try to use it to industrialize economies rather than fight disease.

  • Do you really believe that we will go bankrupt if we spend less than 1% of our income to save the lives of millions of people dying from hunger, malnutrition, and disease?

Treatments for malnutrition and disease for the extreme poor cost $1 to $2 a dose.

  • You don't need to be Democrat or Republican to believe that we should spend less than 1% of our income to save the lives of millions of people that can't afford $2 treatments.

You just need to be human.
